No way. No chance in hell Jimmie can 3-peat. There is way to many young drivers that are making big impacts. Many are also coming into there form. Dale Earnhardt is finally racing like Earnhardt! Kyle Busch is completely dominent, Tony Stewart is coming into his mid-season rampage. Jeff Gordon is on fire. Kasey Kahne is doing better than he has ever done. It leaves Jimmie out of the race.
There is just to many people that are better than Johnson. Don't get me wrong he is a great driver with a lot of potential but the guy is simply not going to cut it with the dominence of the drivers I just named. My prediction is he will end up in the back seeds for the chase, maybe 10-11. I'll end on this note, if Jimmie want even a little chance to make a 3-peat, he is going to have to step up his driving BIG TIME!

Not a believer in legends?!?!
Nothing leaves Jimmie out of the race, maybe a crash, but thats it.
You have to be good to win 2 straight. and jeff was hot, kyle won races, and Tony was on fire, when Jimmie won his two championships. So nothing has changed much. Jimmie is still a star who does not need to start strong. I MEAN DID YOU SEE HIS FINISH WITH 4 IN A ROW?
tHIS GUY IS on his way to becoming the best of his time.

So your basing your opinion on past performances? How about this year WADE? No doubt last season his 3 wins were great, but last year doesn't matter. It's this year. Johnson hasn't performed to what he is capable of. Johnson is a good driver, not quite good enough to pull of a 3-peat.
"Not a believer in legends?!?!" Honnestly I am a believer in legends, but not in Jimmie. Jimmie is just to far behind everyone else. Like I said about all the drivers in my first arguement, they are dominent and Johnson just seems to be dropping farther and farther back. Yes I did see him win 4 in a row, but that was last year. This is now.

TOO FAR BEHIND!!!?
Jimmie has been in this racing career for 8 years and has got 33 wins and 2 consecutive and counting! Dale SR. had 11 wins after racing in the winston cup for 8 years (ONE CUP). He is not behind. If any thing your behind in your stats!
It was not just last year, the last two:
2 CUPS
15 WINS
hE LEADS all drivers in almost every thing the last two years
4 races does not prove much, especally the championship
Trent Votes McCain said 03/12, 06:21 PM
WTF ARE YOU GETTING AT HERE?!?! Do you think im an idiot? I know last year stats! We are seeing if he is 3-peating. What the hell does 33 wins have to do with anything? This season he has not performing as well as he could. Let's stay on focus here. I know he has all those great stats last year, but were talking about THIS YEAR!!!!
WADE=I'm back said 03/12, 06:28 PM
Well you were saying he was behind as a legend.
And this guy has shown in da past that he can compete for champ, no matter when.
I am just saying that This guy can still come back after a rough start. He is good okey. He can do it.
am I staying on topic enough for ya?
I will leave with, Jimmie is in his prime and has people like me who understand!

I won this exact TD arguing from the position that he will not win a 3rd straight, so I agree with Trent. BUt I'll see what arguments are made.

Report Offensive CommentIts hard to make a decision based on what has been said so far. His 4 wins in the final 10 last year was impressive, but can you count on that again? Lets see the next argument. Make it good Trent.

Report Offensive CommentI think this will be the year for Gibbs with Kyle Busch and Tony, Jeff and Jimmy will have to take a backseat to the show.

Report Offensive CommentTrent, you missed the clincher.
In the history of NASCAR Cup racing, only ONE driver has ever won three straight titles.
Cale Yarborough.
Still, vote left.

Report Offensive CommentYou said it best in your 3rd argument Wade...Johnson is off to a bad start. Both of his teammates have more total points than him. And you pick him for the championship? Vote goes to the left.
B-Redli | 03/12/08, 06:47 PM
Report Offensive CommentVote to the left. After the way Jimmie Johnson has started out, I don't think that he is winning it again.

Report Offensive CommentThe way this throwdown was worded it is impossible for Wade to win.
"(4 races do not predict champ man)"
Exactly and there is not a team in the series right now that has shown a better ability to overcome adversity.
