With the big three of Schilling, Beckett and Matsuzaka, along with Wakefield and Jon Lester coming back from cancer treatments, (the feel good story of the year) the Red Sox will be UNSTOPABLE!!!!!!!
P.S. YANKEES ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a Red Sox fan, and a very loyal one at that, but I think this is too over the top.
Right now the best rotation in baseball is being thrown in New York.
And it's these Mets:
Tom Glavine: 2.80 ERA in 35 IP with 18 Ks
John Main: 1.71 ERA in 26 IP with 22 Ks
Orlando Hernandez: 2.53 ERA in 32 IP with 25 Ks
Oliver Perez: 3.86 ERA in 23 IP with 26 Ks
Given Perez's ERA is a bit high, He's very solid for the 4 hole.
And you get Pedro back in August. That's just plain not fair!
JFKJR said 04/30, 05:52 AM
What have any of these guys, (Maine, Hernandez, Perez) ever won??
Schilling - 2 time World Series MVP
Beckett - World Series MVP
Matsuzaka - MVP of the World Baseball Series!!
These guys are proven winners in pressure situations, The Mets haven't gotten out of April yet!!!
Pedro's shoulder problems are going to shut him down longer than you think

Right from the get go, nobodys rotation is as prolific right now as Bostons. Bashbros97 should just forfeit right now. Nobody has a 5 man stud rotation like Boston's Schilling, Beckett, Dice K, Wakefield, and soon to be Lester. Anybody who thinks me or JFKJR is wrong, probably are bitter Yankee fans who are still tearing up from the 5 losses to the Red Sox this season. Red Sox fans should just start a website called: www.LastPlaceYanks.com/Yanks/failure/overpaid.html

Report Offensive CommentThe Mets, are you kidding. At least put up some decent competition. Oliver Perez?? Do you really think Maine will keep this up. Unless Pedro comes back healthy and strong the Mets rotation is their biggest weakness. No question it's the Red Sox.

Report Offensive CommentYou obviously haven't seen Maine pitch other than a few clips. The kid is better than any other young pitcher out there this year. And you've obviously never seen Oliver Perez pitch. He's not leading that team in Ks for nothing, This kid was the highest touted rookie the Pirates had before Zach Duke came and Perez was rushed to the Majors to pitch for an abysmal Pirates team. This kid has found his groove in a majority of his starts for the Mets and could become a very good future starter to compliment Maine.

Report Offensive CommentAlso the staff in Boston isn't any more tried and true than the Mets rotation and it certainly has MUCH better numbers so far this season, So I don't see how you can argue with that.

Report Offensive CommentWhat we are missing here is that the Mets are in the National League and the Red Sox in the American League with a DH. Nobody should be suprised that the Mets staff has a low ERA. The fact that the Red Sox have a rotation that goes deep into games against teams with at least one extra slugger, needs to be acknowledged. The Mets are a great team and should at least make then playoffs, especially if Pedro is healthy. But the Red Sox are better becuase they have to work harder for outs. It`s early still but I`m impressed with both clubs, especially the Red Sox who are making the "vaunted" Yankee hitters look silly.

Report Offensive CommentI have a hard time accepting the Mets as the best rotation in baseball when it's made up of 40 year old Glavin, (nobody knows how old) El Duque and the artist formerly known as Pedro.
The Mets are lucky that they play in the inferior NL.

Report Offensive CommentDid Schilling make it out of the fifth against the Yankees? Did Dice-K give up 10 earned runs to the Yankees?
It's one thing to beat the Royals, but when the Yankee pitching gets healthy, do you think these numbers will be good enough?
