TDA Tourney Round 1. Non All Star Team

Never made one and must be active players.

PG- Deron Williams, Utah- This is obvious

SG- Kevin Martin, Sac- He will give the team a legit scorer with great three point touch.

SF- Gerald Wallace, Cha- Mr. Do It All, he brings great defense and an ability to do a ton of things on the offensive end.

PF- Josh Smith, Atl- Great defender, who is becoming a very good scorer. As good a shot blocker as their is in the game. Also a very good passer.

C- Chris Kaman, LAC- This guy is having a monster breakout year. He is killing the boards and blocking shots like crazy.

PG- Williams- Calderon is good, but he isn't on the level that Deron Williams is. I will agree with this one.

SG- Jason Richardson, Charlotte. He is a solid scorer who averages 20+ PPG, he gets more than 5 rebounds per game and is a good passer. He can shoot too, and actually has a better three-point % than Martin, shooting .410 on threes.

SF- Andre Iguodala, Philadelphia. He is a great all around player who plays very good defense, and is sixth in the NBA in steals. He scores 19.6 per game, gets more than five rebounds per game, and is a very good passer who averages almost five assists a game.

PF- Al Jefferson, Minnesota. Big Al is a very good post player who averages a double-double with more than 21 points and 11 rebounds, and also averages more than one block. He is also second in the NBA in offensive rebounds with four a game. Jefferson is also a good passer.

C- Marcus Camby, Denver. Camby is arguably the best defensive player in the NBA. He averages nearly 14 rebounds per game, and averages an outstanding 3.9 blocks per game, which leads the NBA. Camby can score when asked to, and is also a good passer with 2.9 assists per game. Last year, he was NBA defensive POY.

Kevin scores more per night in Sacramento with very little help. Jason has Gerald to help deflect the attention. Also J Rich may shot better from three(slightly) but Kevin shots better from the field. He is also a much better free throw shooter. Which is important from your 2 guard, you want them to be able to get to the rack and get to the line while doing so.

Gerald and Andre have almost identical numbers. Gerald is a better rebounder and Andre a better passer. I really think this just comes down to who you prefer.

Al is a better scorer and rebounder. Josh is a much better defender. He has 3 blocks per night to Al's 1.3. He has 1.6 steals to Al's 1. I would not put Al in the good passer category either. Josh has 3.5 APG to Al's 1.4. Josh can beat you in so many more ways than Al.

Camby is a terrific defender. But how much better at that is he than Kaman...not much. He has less than a block more and less than a rebound more than Kaman. Offensively though Kaman is a much better scorer. He also shoots for a much higher percentage from the floor and from the line. Kaman gives you great defense but he also gives you a great deal more offensively than Camby.

Kevin is good, but he does have help. Artest scores 19.9 and Miller scores 14 a game. Richardson is a better 3 point shooter percentage wise, and he is a very good all around player who does average more assists than Martin.

I can agree with this, although Iguodala does average more assists than Wallace. Overall, it is very, very close.

Smith might be a better defender, but Al does get rebounds. You need your PF to be a strong post player, and I feel that Big Al is a much better player in the post than Smith. Jefferson can bang with the big guys, and is a better scorer for what that's worth.

Kaman is good, but he is not on the level of Camby. Camby does only average less than one block more, but that is a lot in BPG, while Camby averages more rebounds. He doesn't need to socre with AI and Melo, but he can score when necessary. Until Kaman wins a defensive player of the year award or leads the league in blocks, I give the edge to Camby, who has been consistent for a while.

Kevin does have more help than I gave him credit for, but as I said he is a more prolific scorer and also shoots for a better percentage, which means he does need as many shoots to produce for his team. Especially when you consider the huge difference in free throw shooting .863 to .742. You want your shooting guard to be a big time scorer and Martin has shown to be that when needed.

I agree Big Al is a better post player but we are in a league where alot of teams are leaning to the Josh Smith kind of athletes at the 4. Big Al actually has played center in 71% of his games this year. Josh gives the team the ability to run with ease. As he is a greater passer and scorer. Yet does not cost on the defensive side either. He is a wonderful defensive player as a shot blocker and steal specialist as well. Al is a good rebounder but for a guy who has played center that much he is a very mediocre defender.

When you get to 3+ blocks a game, it doesn't make as big a difference as you state. They are both great defenders, as Camby does have the edge. Camby has not and never will be a guy that can score. He has a career average of 10.8, he did not have AI and Melo his whole career.

I wouldn't say that Matrin is a much more prolific scorer. J-Rich does averages 20.9 PPG. Martin may be a better free throw shooter, but if Richardson can make more threes than Martin, those basically offset. J-Rich is the more complete player who averages more rebounds, assists, steals and less turnovers than Martin. Martin is a great scorer and very good player, but J-Rich brings more to the table than he does.

With Camby or Kaman playing down low, you are going to need another big guy who can score and can bang in the post. For what it is worth, Jefferson does score more than Martin. Jefferson averages three more rebounds than Smith and is second in the league in offensive rebounding. There is enough scoring, so rebounding is a must. Jefferson is the better rebounder, and by getting so many offensive rebounds, Jefferson is able to keep possessions alive and give more chances to score, which Smith can't do.

Kaman is good, but this is his first year that he has really stepped up. Camby is the Defensive Player of the Year and has shown that he is consistentely a great defensive player. You say he can't score, but Camby actually has higher career scoring and rebounding averages.

PG- Deron Williams, Utah- This is obvious ahhhhh no....

FYI: Kaman is having a breakout year, this is his 1st GREAT year

Some would argue he is doing it because Brand didnt play and he could revert back to where he was when Elton gets back
