At least in golf you get paid by your performance. Tiger is a millionaire simply because he keeps winning. I guarantee more people play golf than almost any other sports, especially out of high school. It's more of a sport than Nascar, where all you do is drive. We all drive everyday in ice and snow up here, lets see the Nascar 'athletes' do that for a change. Tennis is a skill sport, too, but I think more people watch golf at this point.

Desert Island Rescue -

Golf is NOT a sport. I play and love golf, but its a GAME not a SPORT.

I personally hate Golf.

All I do is go to the Driving Range, and that is as far as I will go with it.

Putt Long Distance - Boring
Putt Short Distance - Boring

Mini-Golf - Fun
Driving Range - Fun

Football, basketball, baseball and NASCAR are all ahead in popularity no doubt (no order). Next is hockey and golf to argue out. The other sports such as Soccer, UFC, Boxing (my fav) and Tennis are not as popular in America. If you go world wide than Soccer is top and hockey and cricket would probably move ahead of Golf too. In America I might have to put golf in that five spot but I am not sure. Would have to do more research.

Well for it to be a top 5 sport it would have to actually be a sport. Let me name the sports that are better: Baseball, basketball, football, soccer, tennis, ultimate frisbee, bocce, skateboarding, snowboarding, track and field, gymnastics, swimming, horese racing, water polo, dart throwing and poker even though neither are sports, freestyle frisbee, parkour well you get the idea golf sucks.
