Best 3 NBA players for each letter in the alphabet ABC

based of this year
there last name must start with the letter
Not in order
A-
1.Carmelo Anthoney
2.Ray Allen
3.Lamrucus Aldridge

B-
1.Kobe Bryant
2.Chris Bosh
3.Caron Butler

C-
1.Jose Calderon
2.Marcus Camby
3.Vince Carter

A-
Carmelo Anthony
Ray Allen
Ron Artest***

B-
Kobe Bryant
Chris Bosh
Carlos Boozer***

C-
Vince Carter
Marcus Camby
Jamal Crawford***

Lets see here, Ron Artest or LaMarcus Aldridge, there is a toughie. Artest is OBVIOUSLY the superior defender here and he is among the elite defenders of the NBA.
Aldiridge has 17.4 PPG, 7.3 RPG as a PF/C!, and 1.4 APG. Artest is putting up 19.9 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 3.6 APG. Now, comparing the 2 they look pretty even but keep in mind that Artest is a premier defender in the league. Artest is a SF. Aldiridge is a PF/C. It is hard to argue with players from different positions, but if a PF/C is only getting 1.6 more RPG than a SF then I would say that the SF wins in rebounding since it isn't even his job and he is still doing it efficiently.

Boozer has 21.2 PPG, 10.7 RPG, and 2.9 APG. Butler has 21.4 PPG, 6.8 RPG, and 4.4 APG. Another close matchup, but if you are starting a team, you clearlt want Boozer so that is somewhat of a tiebreaker. Boozer has almost a whole 4 more RPG than Butler and they play the same position. Point, Boozer.

Calderon
PPG 12.2 RPG 3.00 APG 8.5

Crawford
PPG 20.7 RPG 2.70 APG 5.0

1.actully some SF/PF have a job to Rebound like artest and Odem

2.Butler Play SG/SF Boozer plays PF

3.more assits and rebounds for Calderon on a team with more scores

crawford and Randolph are the olny good players on the Knicks

They have a job to rebound but it is a MUCH smaller job than they are asking Aldridge who as a PF and C should be ripping down a lot more than 7.3 RPG. I am surely willing to sacrifice 1.6 RPG when I could get another PF who could probably get me low 9's in boards when I could get a better scorer, much better defender, and someone who is getting nearly 2 more assists per game.

Your 3rd point honestly confuses me. Mabey even a little bit more than your 4th point which was just weird.Calderon has .3 more rebounds than Crawford. Its not even enough to mention. He may have 3.5 more APG, but like you said, he is on a better team that scores more. Crawford does not have a lot of people to pass to on the KNICKS. If Crawford was on a better team his assists would go up. He is taking control on a bad tweam and has almost 9 more PPG than Calderon.

Question, if you were starting a team for one year and you wanted to win who do you take? Obviously Crawford. He has a better ability to score and the fact that he has 5 APG on the KNICKS is pretty amazing.

Why does it matter that they are the only good players on the Knicks? I really don't get that so can you please explain that to me?

Forfeited Turn

Well, not much to say after a forfeited turn, but I can say that Boozer is a premier PF in the league and most likely a top 5 or 4 PF. No one is putting Butler in their top 5 lists. If you are starting a team its a no-brained that you take Boozer and he is much better at his position than Butler is at his position.

Artest is a more consistent and proven player and a premier league defender. I know it is based off of this year, but when two people are so close statistically like Aldridge and Artest are, you have to start to look at the player's past or their talent levels which Artest is clearly the more talented player of the two offensivelt and defensively.

Crawford is a superstar in the NBA. Calderon is a PG so he SHOULD have more assists than Crawford. Thats the tricky thing about comparing players from DIFFERENT positions. Plus, Crawford is not put into the role of PG. If he was, he would be averaging more assists per game BUT that is not what the Knicks are asking of him.

Boozer is also a pretty good defender and post player to work with. Plus, he is dominant on the boards.

Gilbert Arenas, anyone?

Arenas is right.

Seriously, you guys are pathertic for leaving Arenas off. Billups and Brand should also be in the discussion.

Report Offensive Comment

NYY, I didn't think of them. Great picks.

Report Offensive Comment

Brand shouldn't not be on that list. Why? Well because he has been injured the entire year. hasn't played a stinking minute.
