In the first just name your team. Second and third will be the arguements.

My team is the Arizona State Sundevils

I'm going to have to go with the Dayton Flyers

Arizona State played in a much harder conference, probably the best in the league. They finished fifth in that conference. (Only behind UCLA(1), Stanford(3), Washington State (4), and USC(6)). They even finished better than two teams in their conference who made the tourney.(Arizona(10) and Oregon (9)).

Everyone will talk about their weak RPI but they still have quality wins over such teams as Xavier, Oregon, Arizona x2, Stanford, and USC.(All tourney teams.)

Dayton also won two big names in Pitt and Louisville but the rest of their wins are pretty weak playing in a weak A10. I also think that Arizona State had the ability to win in the tourney and I think Dayton would have been easier competition for any higher seed.

Dayton started out 14-1 with a 35 point win against Pitt (4) and a win @ Louisville(3). They lost Chris Wright, a major addition to their team and still stayed in contention for March Madness.

The Flyers also have conference wins over champion Temple (12) and St. Joseph's (11). They fought it out until the end where they won their last 4 out of 5, and would maybe have Chris Wright back just in time for their first game.

The Sun Devils also had some key losses to go with their key wins. These losses included at Nebraska(?this isn't football?) Their best non conference win was a home game against Xavier, which i'll give props for, but that is their only quality nonconference victory.

Nebraska was a bad loss. Speaking of bad losses, how about Richmond, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, GW, Duquense, and La Salle. (All L's for Dayton)

And who cares about the non-conference play when they play in the most difficult conference in all of basketball and win.

The main reason that they didn't get in is that they showed they couldn't play well without their "star". And who really knows if they'd ever get him back on time. They committee did the right thing and chose another team who is ready to compete.

If Arizona State had a similar nonconference schedule as Dayton, then they would not have started the year out 10-2... The Sun Devils did exactly what Dayton did, blew apart in conference play, Except Dayton did that without one of their key players. Plus they had a high rpi and had nice conference wins against teams that are in the tourney (St. Joe's and Temple)...

Arizona State is in a tougher conference, we all know that, but the teams in power conferences don't have to compete as much as the smaller conferences do because they usually get more bids. The A-10, Missouri Valley, & Mountain West always have way less spots to fight for, which is why the competition is so tough..Bottomline If Dayton had Chris Wright the whole year, we wouldn't even be having this TD, they didn't and still fought it out to the end, even though they ended up losing to rival Xavier for the 3rd time this year

Man, Elway, throwing it down in like 5 different ones? haha, awesome. And how could you not like No Country? Javier Bardem is a maniac.

He did a good job. And i really, REALLY like the dialogue between characters. I just thought it was really over-hyped and I expected way to much and was really unsatisfied.

I really like that Flyers pick

Florida, defending champs. Went 22-11, didnt make the tournament. Duke went 22-11 last year, we made the tournament as an 8th seed. I know we play in a tougher conference, but i think its unfair to exclude the defending champs when they won twice as many games as they lost. Shoulda at least got the play-in game, who the hell is coppin state?

March 16, 2008  09:04 PM ET

coppin state.. 19 losses,,

March 16, 2008  09:08 PM ET

No Country For Old Men was a masterpiece, Elway. Nothing unsatisfying about it all, unless you cant stomach graphic violence.

Then again, are you one of those guys who is pissed at the ending? lol

Anwyay... 'bout the TD.

Lots of teams up for grabs here. Dayton vs Arizona State. Waiting for arg.

Duke also got outed in the first round by a mid-major....They were 22-10 in the regular season, and they were a SIX seed, not an eight....

I thought VT.

Champions of the MEAC, meaning an AUTOMATIC BID....and they had 20 losses, get your facts straight....

March 16, 2008  09:14 PM ET

BTW, Coppin State has won 12 of 13 games....

March 16, 2008  09:15 PM ET

Didn't mind the ending. I just expected a lot more and I just wasn't satisfied. I liked Michael Clayton a lot more.

March 16, 2008  09:20 PM ET

I will go with Dayton. Neither AZ, AZ state or Oregon deserved to get in.

Please explain where this Pac-10 bias is coming from. Pac-10 was the hardest conferenct to play in this year.

Note: Notice how I didn't say best, that would be the Big East simply because they have 16 teams, but 90% of your games in the Pac-10 were against very solid teams.
