David Klingler 11 TD passes in a single game. Brennan already broke Dave K's career TD record for college.....But 11 TD's in a single game is almost un-real. If I didnt know this to be a fact, I would think someone was lying to me. It would take the best QB's 3 games to put up 11 TD's. In that game against Eastern Washington, he went 41 of 58 passes for 452 yards.

Do the math and thats about 71% completetion. Also, it rounds out to be a TD pass every 3.5 completetions

There are always records out there that seem impossible to break, and while your record may be a tough one to ever see fall, the only issue I have is that not only has it been done once (so it is possible), but all it takes is ONE GAME for your record to fall.

With the college game is close and competitive as it is now I will say that the NCAA DI Record that will never be broken will be the Oklahoma Sooner's 47 game winning streak.

The Sooners won every game from October 10, 1953 till November 16, 1957. That's FOUR YEARS without a single loss.

Just think this year's national champs lost 2 games THIS YEAR!

No way with the competition that is out there today as well as the BCS title game, the only way you will see a team go FOUR YEARS without a loss will be on your Xbox.

Lets look at the winning streaks in DIV 1 football

Oklahoma - 47 games
Washington - 39 games
Yale X2 - 37 games
Toledo - 35 games

So Washington and Yale came within less then a season to tying the record. The best QB's in college history couldnt sniff 11 TD's in a gameTeams have come close many times to the record. There are teams that have went 3 seasons without a loss, so 4 is unlikely, but not impossible.

On the other hand, When Brennan broke the single season TD record in 2006... The MOST TD's he had in a game is 6....Thats it. Brennan may be the most efficient QB in college history and he could only come up with half the amount. 6 TD's in a single game is a starteling statistic.... However 11, that is border-line un-human. Brennan put up 5 TD's 5 different times, but couldnt put up more then 6.

As improbable as a 48 game winning streak is, 12 TD's in a single game is damn near IMPOSSIBLE.

Alright Goodell lest put this into perspective,

Washington won 39 games ending in 1914
Yale's 37- 1890-1893 and 1887-1881
Toledo's 35- 1969-1971

So it's been 37 years since someone came within 12 games of this record, No team in the NCAA D1 football currently holds a 12 game winning streak.

So what you are saying is that a team 37 years ago was only 1 perfect season away from breaking this record.

Theoretically your record could be broken in 12 plays. Teams blow out other teams ALL the time, add to that the fluff games they play at the beginning of the season it isn't crazy to think a school could run a score up.

Now your record is improbable, mine is at this point almost impossible.

So what if its been 37 years.....???

David K broke the TD record held by Dennis Shaw. He Threw 9 TD passes in 1969.... Klingler broke the record 31 years later... Just cause its been 37 years since someone was close to Oklahoma's record, doesnt mean it wont happen

Even though there are no teams with a 12 game win streak currently, doesnt mean it wont happen next season. Look at the lowley Rockets... who woulda thunk that Mcgrady can actually lead a team......??

There are 4 teams I listed that are CLOSE or WERE close to the record that Oklahoma holds, however...After Klingler and Shaw, there is no one even close

It isn't just that it has been 37 years, it has been 37 years since a team came within a FULL SEASON of this record. It isn't like Toledo was just about to break the record.

The truth is that with the national scale of games today, marquee match ups as well as the BCS matching up the top two teams every year, as well as players leaving for the NFL running off 4 seasons without a loss just isn't going to happen.

The difference here is that with your record all you really need is for all the chips to fall into place, say a QB throws 6 TD in a game that isn't crazy, well with the current OT system we saw games go into 5 OT's last year, 5 short drives and you have a new record.

In order to win for 4 full seasons without a loss you have to???.
-Avoid slipping up, just one bad game, or even one bad play can end it.
-Build GREAT team chemistry, almost every position will have multiple people playing there over this stretch
-AMAZING recruiting classes, again the guys you start with are not the ones you finish with.

I'm not saying that 11TD in a game is an easy task, I'm just saying that winning EVERY SINGLE GAME for 4 Years is MUCH harder and less probable.

There's gotta be some obscure record that is just insanely strange.

Thirteen turnovers in one game (Georgia in 1951)?

Yeah Ram, but I didn't want to take that angle. He picked a legit record so I wanted to argue another legit record.

Again, I think it's easier to suck, I guess a case could be made though to the team that forced them.

I have the winner. The one that will never be broken.

March 18, 2008  12:06 PM ET

But I agree with BS, anything can happen in one game, as crazy as it may seem, after all, it is college football.

March 18, 2008  12:10 PM ET

The record that will stand forever is the most lopsided game in history, the most points scored by one team in one game, and the worst loss in history.

Georgia Tech 222
Cumberland 0

Easier to suck? I guess no one told my ex-gf that.

Yeah. That's a good one, Porkins.

That is a great record Porkins, as a GT fan, I LOVE that record.

March 18, 2008  12:14 PM ET

Isn't that where Cumberland had disbanded their football team but Georgia Tech had scheduled them for the next year, and Tech wouldn't let them out of it, so they had to cobble together a team at the last minute. They only had like a dozen players.

March 18, 2008  12:15 PM ET

yeah Ram, I was about to tell the story, but yeah that's about what happened. It wasn't really a legit game.

She wanted me to stop playing raquetball because i was losing all the time. Why, what did you think i meant?
