Past vs. Future. QB Analysis. Name your tandem in Argument 1. Argue points in slots 2 and 3.

At first glance it appears I'm issuing a throwdown that is a gimme, but that is simply not the case. I've watched numerous throwdowns go by detailing the best QB's of all time, and they have not included the 2 I believe are THE best: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. If you have 2 guys you want to place above them, go for it. If not, I'll gladly delete this thing.

(Disclaimer: I despise New England, and Peyton is not my favorite Manning. So you can throw out the homer and/or easy throwdown accusations.)

Im so sick of Homer TDs......J/K

Past vs Future and you have Manning and Brady..So im gonna assume that you mean active players only.

Im gonna go with Manning as the Past and Derek Anderson as the Future. I will follow your rules and not submitt a argument here, but I hope people wont vote until after I can make a argument

So this is all F'd up. I have to assume you are going to pick another QB? Or just argue the Brady selection? I might submit a draw later, but we'll see. Anywhoo...

Since we agree that Manning is 1 of the 2 best ever, I'll argue that Tom Brady is the other.

Awards of significance: 2 Super Bowl MVP's, NFL MVP (2007), 4 time pro-bowler, 2 time All-Pro.

Accomplishments: All time record for touchdown passes in a single season, 3 time Super Bowl Champion, highest single season QB rating, 18 game winning streak, Broke Starr's NFL record of 10 straight post-season victories.

I don't want to hear about Spygate. This 'spying' people speak of is supposed to erase Tom Brady's accomplishments as a QB? You would have to insinuate that they were spying every single game. And not just recording some signals, but literally spying like Al Bundy in Little Giants. Lets be serious Count Chocula, spying didn't get Brady this good.

Career Averages:

Completion: 62.8%
TD: 30
INT: 12
Rating: 93.6
Yards: 3,920.

Career Totals: 86 Wins, 197 Touchdowns, 86 Interceptions.

Bradys career average is very bloated.....It took away his best and worst season's TD's and INT's and figured out a new average. You ready for this one.....???

24 TD's
13 INTS

Does that really look like top 2 all time?? To be honest, that looks like nothing more the a average QB. Just to make sure Im not being biased, I'll do the same for Peyton...

28 TD's
14 INTs

So it looks like 4 more TD's to only 1 more INT. Almost averaging 30 TD's per season (Remember I threw out both Manning and Bradys best and worst seasons)

Tom Brady is a good QB... Nothing special. He had the luxury of having a great coach and a great team top to bottom. Besides last season, he has never DOMINATED the competition. I wont use spy gate as a main point in my argument, but it just might have somtihng to do with his post season success. All 3 SB wins were by 3 points each.... If anyone's name should be mentioned as SB MVP's for the Pats... It should be Vinetari's foot

Didnt think I'd get a taker here. But I saw reason to make the throwdown. I wasnt being facetitious when I was saying this would sound like a gimme. Some of you do actually believe that the 2 QB's I mentioned are THE best, and some think they can't crack top-5. So its up in the air.

Wow....facetious*

Let me clarify. Much of the throwdownage (new word) on here has older quarterbacks such as Marino, Elway, Unitas, Favre, etc. - listed as the best ever. There is little mention of this generation's QB's. Thats why I'm showing my youth (backed up by research) in claiming that Brady & Manning are the 2 best. How do you want to go forward with it? You want to pick 2 older QB's that have either retired or are ending their careers, or do you want me to change my choices to have a current and future best QB?

Report Offensive Comment

If you want to, you can argue that Manning and Brady are 2 of the best.. I will agree with you on Manning, but Not Brady.

Its really up to you... Just let me know

Report Offensive Comment

ok so I'll amend the argument. I thought I was being specific - but its entirely possible I wasnt, and I want to be fair. I will argue Brady has to be considered 1 of the 2 best ever. We will agree that Manning is the other one. I'll submit that in a bit, ok?

Report Offensive Comment

Manning and Graham/Marino/Montana/Favre/Unitas, but not Brady.

Report Offensive Comment

I think Goodell missed the point. Goodell pick the 2 best QB's who are retired. Then Argue them over Manning and Brady.

Report Offensive Comment

Brady is only good cuz of Spygate,w hich has been going on since 2000, and Brady took over for Bledsoe in 2000. So there you have it. Wthout Spygate, Brady doesnt get the chance to rip apart defenses,a nd he fgets relegated to just being another QB.

Report Offensive Comment

I dunno. Now I dont know what to do.

Report Offensive Comment

gonets....'so there you have it'...thanks killa.

Report Offensive Comment

just argue your point. You still have time to make valid arguments, moondizzle

Report Offensive Comment

sorry, not trying to ruin your argument...just trying to say it the way I see it...what I say isnt necessarily fact

Report Offensive Comment

I will argue my point when I see fit. I'm talking about your vote, pre-arguments.

Report Offensive Comment

oh, ok...well, i will see more arguments, and i will decide then whether to change my vote

Report Offensive Comment

Wait... you are saying Brady and Manning are the greatest QB's of all time?

So, you are ALSO saying the NFL is one BIG joke? If a player can start for 7 years and make a top 5 appearance I don't understand football anymore.

The media overrated the present players WAY too much.

Best 2 are Otto Graham and Johnny U. For them to do what they did, WHEN THEY DID IT is unbelieveable. 10 years in the league Otto was in 10 championships.

Report Offensive Comment

All good Moon... I dug up some nuggets on Brady I cant wait to use

Report Offensive Comment

Eazy...well...WHEN they did it would be part of my point. The league is much more dissolved and less top-heavy. If a player can start for 7 years and make a top 5 appearance, the NFL is a joke? Well, we can just disagree.

Report Offensive Comment

I mean...Unitas made the pro bowl in 1966 with 22 TD's and 24 INT's. They couldnt find a better year out of someone?

Report Offensive Comment

Brady is only good cuz of Spygate,w hich has been going on since 2000, and Brady took over for Bledsoe in 2000. So there you have it. Wthout Spygate, Brady doesnt get the chance to rip apart defenses,a nd he fgets relegated to just being another QB.

Although I agree with most of this comment, I will disagree and say that even though he probably knew the defense due to cheating, he still had to have the ability and talent to accurately throw the ball. But I don't think Brady is as good as everyone thinks. He still needs to prove he can play with the help of videos as there is more to being a great QB than just throwing the ball there. Can Brady read a defense and adjust as needed without the help of video? Time will tell but at this point I would say not very well (as shown in the Super Bowl!)

the NFL, although subpar to college football, is no joke. And it is possible for a guy in 7 years time (or less) to make a Top 5 appearnace. I can think of a few (Troy Aikamn, drafted in 1989, won SBs in 1992, 1993, and 1995, and at the time was the best QB except for Steve Young; also Barry Sanders, who is considered one of the greatest RBs of all time). Sorry, Eazy, Im with Moon on this one.
