Andruw Jones will make the HoF because of his consistent hitting and his glove. He is not the most overrated centerfielder, he is the best all-around player at this time. He can hit home runs, hit for average if he has to, and he has a great glove. Not to mention, he rarely misses a game.

As much as I love my Braves, I say at this point Andruw isn't even close to making the HOF. In 12 years in the majors he is a career .265 hitter and besides that one 51 HR season, he usually only hits around 35 or so. He used to be able to steal bases but his knees have always given him trouble and he doesn't have the speed anymore. He might go down as one of the Braves greats, but not HOF worthy

Have you noticed how almost every year Anduw seems to always step up and give the team what is needed. Early in his career in the playoffs, he had clutch hits. He also would be able to steal bases when needed, meaning anytime you need a stolen base, he was the man. In 2005, when a big hit was needed, Andruw came up with a big hit. And when the game is on the line he always comes up with a big catch. That is why he is a Hall of Famer.

Jones stepped up one year when we really needed him, and that was the "Baby Braves" year. And he doesn't steal bases anymore, check his stats. Between 97 and 00 he stole 20 + bases. After that? 8, 4, 6, 5, 4, 3. That's a major decline.
You keep saying "Andruw does this, Andruw does that" but you haven't given any examples. True he has great fielding, but a great fielder doesn't just make the HOF without being a consistent player on offense AND defense.

500 HRs won't mean the same as it used to by the time Jones is retired.

Report Offensive Commenthitting alone wont get jones into the hall of fame but how can you forget about all his golden gloves. being the best defensive center fielder of his era and a very good (not amazing) offensive player gets him in.

Report Offensive CommentHe has a chance, but he would have to bat .300 at least once.
