So the only difference is Carmona vs Kazmir
I picked Kazmir because he is a great pitcher for the team he plays for....Tampa. If he played for a better team he would be just as good, if not better than Carmona.
Now I know people would say Carmona is a better pitcher, but lets look at their records, Carmona 19-8, Kazmir 13-9. Now, I know you are saying he has a better record, but Kazmir had only 1 more loss than him, and if Kamir had a better defense and offense than he would probaly have an indentical record.
Now, also Kazmir strikes out more batters, the stats show Kazmir with 239 Ks and Carmona with only 137, almost a 100 more Ks for Kazmir.
So that is why Kazmir is better than Fausto

Great, you are showing their record, which Carmona has more wins, and their strikeouts. That isn't everything in baseball. There are a lot of things that you are missing. What about ERA, WHIP, BAA? Those are some key categories when arguing about who is better.
Fausto Carmona:
3.06 ERA
1.21 WHIP
BAA-.248
Scott Kazmir:
3.48 ERA
1.38 WHIP
.251 BAA
Fausto Carmona has a better ERA, better WHIP, and has a better BAA. He is a better pitcher who gives up less runs. They can't hit as good against him as they can against Kazmir.
Carmona was in the top 5 running for Cy Young. Kazmir was on the outside looking in.
Kazmir is a good pitcher, who strikes out a lot of batters, but Carmona lets up less runs, batters have a worse BAA, and he gives up less walks, and hits per innings pitched.
He is a great pitcher, and he is a top 5 AL pitcher. Kazmir is also a great pitcher, but he just needs to lower his ERA, WHIP, and BAA and then he will be better than Carmona, but right now, Carmona is the better pitcher.
Carmona has a better ERA, which means less runs, which means less losses.

Report Offensive CommentKazmir is not way better. Fausto 4th in Cy Young voting. Kazmir? Nowhere to be found. Besides I think that James Shields is better and on the same. team.

Um... he is in the top 10, not top 5. Maybe you should commit suicide since you don't know baseball.
