Let's show some love to the embarassing!

Rules: NBA Game (All-Star game DOES count)
Must post link to the video in the argument
Only one crossover, no mixes

http://youtube.com/watch?v=7SYfRQ4q8U0&feature=related

(look closely, he didn't trip over anyones feet but his own).

To me, a truly great crossover has to end up with someone on the ground. I prefer when they fall flat on their face like this one. The crowds reaction is just tremondous as well. Anytime you hear the chorus of "OOHHH" coming from them, you just know that something amazing (or embarassing) has just happened.

What makes this video so great, is just how fast the defender was dropped. He didn't stutter step and then fall, he just flat out fell on his face. Another element that qualifies this video is the finish. Sure, it wasn't a dunk but you can't drop somebody and then not score afterwards.

Good idea for this one! If the rules aren't right let me know and I'll start it over again.

Nice! But personally, I think that it is not better than this one:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=1AZ_ghCSVpg

I was going to choose the one Stecky had wrote about in the comments originally, but since it has already been spoke about yet alone seen, I had to go with this one.
It's Dwayne on Snow. The video speaks for itself. Dwayne puts the pedal to the metal, Snow follows, then Wade brings it back. Eric Snow's inertia does not allow him to come to a complete stop, as it was unexpected, and comes to an embarrassing stop. He tried to recover once by putting his hand down, but he was just moving too quick.
Let's face it, Snow is scarred for life. The worst thing about it? There is video of it, which allows us to savor every second of what it has to offer. I feel bad for Snow.

Thanks! Rules were good.

Haha great pick on your part!

I will say that the look Wade gave Snow is just brilliant!

I still think mine is better (obviously haha) because of the way that Hamilton just fell straight to the floor. He didn't have time to realize that he was going down and barely had time to get his hands out in front of him to brace himself.

Another reason that I believe Davis crossing Hamilton was better is because of the fact that Hamilton just tripped over his own feet! Haha these amazing and graceful athletes are never supposed to do that! It compares to one of us tripping while taking the stairs...up. It's just something that rarely happens and when it does, it's hilarious!

The last reason I think mine is better is because of the finish. Both Davis and Wade made the shot, but Davis' was right after he'd dropped Hamilton. There wasn't anything else that the fans had to focus on. Whereas with Wade, he continued on with the play and the fans didn't have as much time to really process what they just saw.

True, Hamilton barely had any time realize, but he did have to worry about the screen being set up behind him. That might of caused him to go down in such a way, but regardless VINCE CARTER crossed him up. I noticed you said DAVIS crossed Hamilton, but it was Carter.
Athletes are not perfect in the sense that they wont make any mistakes let alone tripping over their feet. Eric Snow did everything right (im guessing) in that play. But Dwayne had such a great crossover that Snow was left helpless! Wade made Snow bite on it, which he did, and left us with such a treat to cherish.

Yeah, I'm feeling stupid as hell that I messed up my own video argument! Haha, oh well.

Honestly I don't have much more to add to this one. I agree that athletes aren't perfect but the public generally sees them as perfect. That's why when the get crossed over, miss a dunk, or airball, we find is so amusing and amazing at the same time. That's why we reign upon them our chorus of "OOOHH" and let them know that they really are human.

Just the fact that Hamilton fell with no time to react makes it seem more humorous to me. CARTER (still feeling stupid) crossed him up so well that he tripped over his own feet!

Snow was just backing up and happened to catch his feet wrong. I'm sure most of us have done that while running backwards. Maybe not in a game but I digress.

It's been a lot of fun! Thanks for the video and for catching how big of a **** I really am!

I agree. Not much more to add. But in my opinion, the embarrassment rating was much higher for Snow, than for Hamilton.

Im gonna leave this to the the fans on Fannation to pick the rightful winner.

I like when MJ crossed over Vince instead..

That was pretty sick, he drained the jumper too which makes it complete.

this one?

March 23, 2008  07:20 PM ET

Haha that's the one Stecky!

Tim Hardaway had the sickest crossover in the NBA, remember they named it the "Killer Crossover". Next I would say that Allen Iverson has a good crossover especially when he was young... remeber when he broke Jordans ankles!

No offense Leader, I wasn't impressed with the Vince Carter one. To me it looks like he fell because of he was trying to run through the screen, still pretty nice though.

March 23, 2008  10:11 PM ET

No problem. Everyone's got there opinions!

Yes no comment, not on the crossover, but the wording. Haha!

Leader's was good, but in the other one, Snow got beyond embarassed. No pro player should do that LOL. That wins my vote.
