I hate prediction TD's, but who cares.... Its a slow news day
Some how he made the Pro Bowl last season with a serious drop in production... Well, a drop in the numbers anywanys.
With the addition of Spencer Johnson and Macrus Stroud.... Schobel will not see the amount of double teams that he has seen over the past 2 seasons. Now that Buffalo has a legitemate threat at the DT spot, teams CAN NOT spend all thier time accounting for him.

No
Aaron Schobel will not make the Pro bowl this year.
First of all, Schobel is 30 years old and that is about where NFL players start to slow down. DE is an athletic position and Schobel could ware down easily.
Secondly, he might get injured. As I said above, he is getting older and an injury could be in the future.
Schobel's stats have been slowly declining over the past three years, take a look:
2005:
54 tackles
12 sacks
2006:
35 tackles
14 sacks
2007:
45 tackles
6.5 sacks
Plus, Buffalo doesn't use there defense as much since their offense has improved durastically and takes quite a bit of time off the clock.
Spencer Johnson and Marcus Stroud coming may help Schobel a tiny bit but it will also hurt him too. Stroud and Johnson could both take away some tackles and sacks.
With all of this going against him, I don't think that Aaron Schobel will make the Pro Bowl.

LMFAO.... That has to be the funniest thing I have ever heard......Hahahahaha. Our offense sucks.....
Well, acutally... The only bad season he has had, is last season. Im not trying to make excuse's, but the Bills D was absolutley destroyed by injuries. They were literally signing guys off the street to START in the NFL.
Schobel's numbers will go up beacuse there is alot more diversity for the Bills front 4. They were based soley on speed last season, and after finishing around #27 in total D, they brought in the big boys to plug up the middle. Marcus Stroud WILL demand a double team. There are few Gaurds who can take him one on one.... Faneca and maybe Steve Huctchenson. Every other gaurd will need help. Then who will help with Aaron Schobel?
You are acting like 32.5 sacks over the past 3 seasons is a bad thing......???.....

Yeah, Buffalo's offense does suck, it is almost last in the league, but at least it is getting a little bit better. Their defense was used like crazy two years ago but now they have used the offense a little bit more thanks to Marshawn Lynch, Trent Edwards, and Lee Evans.
Schobel got a lot more stats because no one was there to take away the stats.
Stroud and Johnson will certainly get their share of sacks and you know what that means . . .
Less sacks, maybe a few more half sacks, which isn't that good when you are losing full sacks.
Sacks are a good thing but Schobel won't see as many of them.
Goodell: GOAT Family said 03/26, 06:30 PM
Why wont he?? Marcus will probably make the PB, but thats not the point here.
Over the last 3 seasons.......
Spencer Johnson - 4 sacks in 4 full seasons
Stroud - 6.5 sacks
Schobel - 32.5 sacks
Schobel has EXACTLY 5 times the amount of sacks that Stroud has over the past 3 seasons. There is NO POSSIBLE way that Stroud will hurt Schobel's sack total. DT's dont get sacks.... Thats not in thier job discription. A DT's main responsiblity is to STOP the run.... If they get sacks great, but its not the deciding factor of a DT's worth. Its not even on the spread sheet for a DT.
All the pieces have been put into play to open up the pass rush for the Bills. They brought in 2 really good DT's and a OLB. They were brought in to help out the D. Which they will.......

Well, obviously FN members like your picks and arguments better so I will have to forfeit

I didn't say that their offense is the best in the league, I said that they use their offense more than they did when they sucked really bad a few years ago when Schobbel had his good stats.

Report Offensive CommentBuffalo's offense was ranked WORSE then thier 27th ranked D. In case you dont know, there are only 32 teams in the NFL, and the Bills scored the LEAST amount of TD's

Report Offensive CommentThe additional help from FA signings could help. Poz will also play a full season and he will help take some of the strain off too.

But 30 years old is not bad as it used to be- and even IF they move him to situational pass rusher this year- 3 PBS in a row- he's going to be hard to move out of that slot.
