As I read all the NBA mock drafts, I'm continually amazed at how high people are on Joakim Noah. I understand that he's a solid rebounder and an "energizer" type, but aren't these the type of players you draft in the second round (see Jason Maxiell, Paul Millsap, Craig Smith)?

Even the Celtics, who had him in for a workout earlier this week, praised his "volume on the court" above all else (in other words, he yells out when there are switches instead of just raising his voice). This, again, falls under the energy heading. To me, he has very little outside game, he thrived in a championship setting and will be a decent -- but not spectacular -- NBA player.

In other words, he's the next Mikki Moore.

As I read all the NBA mock draft analysis,I'm continually amazed at how many times i see the same retreaded scouting report on Joakim Noah. While true that Noah lacks some of the established credentials NBA scouts are keen on,he has tremendous upside. His back to back championship experience can only help him at the pro level, and his ability to perform in the clutch is essential to the NBA.Noah is a winner, and with great work ethic,im sure his shot will improve

Upside? I knew it wouldn't take long for that word to come out. You know who else had great upside?? Robert Swift, Darko Milicic, Adam Morrison and a host of others who have done nothing in the NBA. All I see is a big body who can rebound ... and there are no shortage of those in the NBA.

As for his clutchness, can you recall one game he won at Florida with a last-second shot or clutch play? Neither can I.

There are also many many players who had upside who DID and are performing at the NBA level, and how interesting it is to me that youre quoting the CELTICS brass. Is this the same Celtic administration that has driven the organization to the lowest point of its existence, the same Celtic administration that drafted Joe Johnson only to TRADE him a year later for Rodney Rogers and another scrub. They lack any credibility, and Noah will perform

I don't agree with you on upside. Is anyone saying that Kevin Durant, Greg Oden or even Al Horford have upside? No, they are all sure things. But since you failed to provide any of your own examples of someone with upside, I'll give you one: Gilbert Arenas. But Arenas was chosen in the second round -- which is where you want to select a player with upside. When you have a lottery pick, you want someone who's a sure thing. I mean, how well did Kwame Brown work out for the Wizards?

Who said those three are all sure things?I guarantee you one of them has marginal at best NBA success,if none at all.The problem with scouts is they theyre all in love with each other. One says something of a player and the media circus turns it into a stigma and label on that player.Ive heard the argument youre making SUDDENLY over a hundred times on websites the last few days,so i venture to guess the ideas not your own.Give the guy a chance to play a freakin game before you bury em publicly

June 13, 2007  04:05 PM ET

June 13, 2007  04:06 PM ET

sorry, that was dumb

June 13, 2007  04:06 PM ET

I don't see the "upside" in his game...sure he'll be a good hustle guy and the size is good.....but unless he works on his all around game at a professional level...meh....not that excited about him.

June 13, 2007  04:06 PM ET

He sucks?? gimme a break man.He won back to back titles and was front and center for both...give em some credit

June 13, 2007  04:08 PM ET

PLEASE BULLS DON'T DRAFT NOAH

June 13, 2007  04:08 PM ET

Mikki Moore? Hilarious!

June 13, 2007  04:12 PM ET

His team won back to back titles. Not him.
8 points 3 rebounds... hmmm I dont think he won that one.

Joakim Noah will be the next Anderson "Carlito (WWE)" Varejao. BUMS

June 13, 2007  04:26 PM ET

Noah was a good not great college player and when he tries his litter spin move to the hoop in the NBA he will be shut down

June 13, 2007  04:27 PM ET

little* my bad

June 13, 2007  04:29 PM ET

Wow, agray won me over. He's right, Joakim Noah is overrated.

June 13, 2007  04:34 PM ET

He is going to be horrible at the next level. The guy is a great defender decent rebounder. His offense is god awful, he throws his bows around when he is in the post. The only thing I like about him is his passion for the game.

June 13, 2007  04:39 PM ET

What, you don't like that goofy **** dance he did at the Final Four? That's gotta be a YouTube of that somewhere.

June 13, 2007  04:40 PM ET

I love how people think Joakim Noah sucks without backing it up with more then....he remind of of (insert name). The best way to judge how somebody will perform is how they have performed. He's been one of College Basketball's best for two years. We seem to forget too quickly his MOP of the 2006 Final Four.

THANK YOU COLE nobody looks at the ACTUAL GAMES anymore

June 13, 2007  04:46 PM ET

Chris dont get me wrong he dominated in college but what worrys me is his offensive game. His FT shot is atrocious and his inside game isn't something to be proud of. If the suns got the ATL pick no doubt they would select him. He would be much better suited on a team that is contending. He brings in a defensive pressence.

June 13, 2007  04:48 PM ET

if i have to watch Noah pound on his scrawny chest after every play i'll go ape ****. i'm so tired of him acting like he's just made the final shot in a championship game.

June 13, 2007  04:53 PM ET

I've watch him almost every game of his college career. I just don't get the knock on his inside game. I've seen him dominate the paint, time and time again. Look at his first meeting with Ohio State. Horford and Noah both destroyed the Bucks. He had a very poor Final Four in 2007 and that is the last lingering memory of his college days which is souring many people's memories of Noah.
