Well then obviously, im taking Gasol as the better one. Let's see what awards he has won in the Olympics, FIBA World Championship, and others:
Most Valuable Player in ACB league
Most Valuable Player in Copa del Rey
Silver medal in the 2007 European Championship
FIBA World Championship MVP 2006
Gold medal in 2006 FIBA World Championship
Most Valuable player in the 2006 FIBA World Championship
5th place in Olympic games -Diploma- (Athens 2004)
Silver medal in the 2003 European Championship
5th place in the 2002 FIBA World Championship
Bronze medal in 2001 European Championship
Junior World Champion with Spain
Junior European Champion with Spain
Now in the NBA:
NBA Rookie of the Year 2002
1x NBA All-Star
Enough of that. Pau Gasol has been recognized for his great play not only in the NBA, but also internationally for Spain. He has led them to world title's! That should be enough right there.
You dont really have any supporting details to support your thesis so why dont I give you a chance to post that.

As for having a better international career yes Gasol does. When I saw your comment I took it as in the NBA right now.So yes He has more accomplishments, but as he is the better player now I will argue that.
Ok Jefferson plays near the post the entire game,he doesn't roam around the perimeter. But he gets the job done down there.I wish people would give Jefferson the respect he deserves.
This year:
Gasol:
18.9 ppg
8.5 rpg
Jefferson:
21 ppg
11.5 rpg
Those are the stats you expect Jefferson to excell in.He is a throwback big man who gets the job done down there. And he's still 5 years younger than Gasol. He has close to the talent to do any of the things that Gasol did if he was of Spanish ethnic.
MH7KiNG said 03/30, 03:11 PM
Jefferson may have better stats on the rebounding and scoring end but dont forget that Gasol has been playing with Kobe Bryant (which can score), and Lamar Odom (which can rebound) for about one-third os this season. Better stats do not neccessarily indicate the better player. People may argue that because Chris Paul is getting better stats this season, doesn't mean that he is automatically better than Steve Nash. Same case here with Al Jefferson and Pau Gasol.
You want to use stats I see, but you forgot to add a few:
APG 3.1 APG 1.5
FG% 0.525 FG% 0.499
FT% 0.719 FT% 0.810
3P% 0.250 3P% 0.000
Yeah, Gasol wins in all of those categories (I didnt post blocks but Al Jefferson takes the win I shall admit).
Those are stats you may expect Jefferson to excell in, because he is a C/PF, but in this case Gasol plays the same position and Gasol gives you better ALL-AROUND game.
I dont really get what you mean by saying "if Jefferson was of Spanish ethnicity" but im taking it as if you mean they arent that good of a basketball country. Right, thats why they have won World Championships.
Regardless, Gasol IS and WAS better player than Al Jeff.
(Cincy) said 03/30, 03:47 PM
I just think Jefferson's post dominance makes him better than Pau Gasol, spread out skill.Gasol is a good player in certain aspects but is not anywhere near as good as Al Jefferson down low.
You wanna know why I didn't include those stats?I didn't want to lose, lol. Can't really put up much more than I have, good td MH7
MH7KiNG said 03/30, 03:54 PM
Gasol has a great post game and good all around game. Jefferson may have a better post game, but that is pretty much it. Jefferson doesn't dominate the paint as much as some other guys in the NBA, and Gasol is quite possibly the best all-around big man. I'd take that over Jefferson any day.
Well, I guess no one wants to lose right? That's why I try on these td's, and hopefully change or influene people's perspectives my td topics.
Good td to you as well :D
