Jim Tressel IS a top 5 coach.How can you otherwise?Yes they lost the nat'l championship two years in a row but they did make it two years in a row.You made a list of 5 people who you all thought were top 5 and then an honorable mention and Tressel was not there.Let's see why you think he isn't.

Jim Tressel has lost 2 consecutive national championships this years was because he was out talented but in the game against Florida he was out coached because face it Ohio state was just as talented if not more talented then Florida but Jim Tressel didn't prepare them correctly Obviously he is a good coach but there is no way based on the work he has done at OSU he is a top 5 or even a top 10 coach. The guy shows no emotion on the sidline. He has not recruited fast enough players that showed against LSU and Florida. And you got to think guys like Pete Carrol, Steve Spurrier, Joe Paterno, Bobby Bowden who are all some of the best of all time have to be ahead of him. Look at his body of work 1 national championship two strait losses in national championship games. A program like OSU can recruit anyone in the nation because they are a national program but he still has managed to bring in players that are constantly out sped by programs that rely on speed. If a recruiting power like OSU can't get the people to beat a punny regional recruiting program like LSU you have to think, Maybe it's the coaching.

Yes he has lost two in a row but the fact is not many teams have even made it to the nat'l championship two years in a row.Osu just picked the worst day to play to play the worst game of the season against Florida.

And in your blog you were talking recently,oh well

.I mean,come on.He won multiple championships at youngstown state in D-1AA.If that is based on recruiting at that small a school I'd like to know how.Correct me if I'm wron g he went to 6 championship games at Youngstown state.

In his SECOND YEAR,he won a Nat'l Championship with Ohio State.

Yes OSU recruits well nationally but you are contradicting yourself when you list someone who practically sweeps the country in recruiting players(Pete Caroll)

Not top 10!!!Your joking.Three appearences in the championship in his short time in Columbus.In his first year:7-5,second year:14-0 nat'l champs.

Lsu is not puny,I don't get where you come from with that,and don't forget,many of the players who helped lead LSU to a championship were recruited by Nick Saban

If FCS championships count then app. state's coach Jerry Moore just three peated (if i spelled that wrong get over it) so he's the best active coach (Not really I was just making a point). How can a man who can't get fast players too one of the top 10 most prestigous programs in college football is not a top 5 coach. If you have access to top players in the nation but can't compete with Florida and can lose to Illinios the problem is the coaching because if you look at Jim Tressels losses in the last few years they were becasue people like Les Miles, Urban Meyers, Ron Zook coached circles around him. OSU has access to talent that SEC teams don't because of thier big name so why can''t they compete with them.

The thing is though,Tressel proved he can coach among the best of them at any level.He excelled at Youngstown st,and was given a chance to coach big time.The National championship won by OSU was with tressel in his SECOND year.He went fro 7-5 to 14-0.How much does that have to do with John Cooper.Tressel installed something in the team thatr gave them great chemistry,and the defense was possibly the best of this decade.

And yes,OSU lost to Florida and LSU.SO WHAT!?
Florida lost to Auburn!LSU lost 2 Games and was the Nat'l champ.WHAT IS YOUR POINT.There isn't going to be an undefeated nat'l champ every year.Sometimes the best teams LOSE.Almost all teams hit a bump.LSU hit two.So I gladly invite you too explain what you're talking about.

He's been able to change his offense completely to suit Troy Smith and then help turn him from a Michael Vick like QB to a solid,NFL prototype QB who won the heisman trophy.His team won a nat'l championship against a team that had about half it's starters going pro.AND Craig Krenzel went 5-16 passing,and they still pulled it off.

Number one I'm sayin that OSU lost to LSU and Florida when they had access to talent that LSU doesn't because LSU only appeals to players in the South or east while OSU is a program that can recruit players all around the country so obviously the only other reason for OSU lossing to LSU could be the coaching. Number two how could Jim Tressel be in the top 5 because then you would have to kick Joe Pa , Bobby Bowden, Howard Schnellenberger , Pete Carrol, steve Spurrier, Buzz Beamer out of the top five and obviously all six of these have a way better resimay then Jim.
And you still havn't answered my question would a great coach loose 2 strait National championships, Bear Bryant never did, joe pa never did a great coach would not get destroyed in the biggest game OSU had in the last 5 years against a Florida team that had Equal talent and Troy Smith is no Michael Vick. So if Jim Tressel is so good how come ever since he's been there the fear of OSU has been completly demolished and The teams from the other power confrences are begging to play OSU just so they can look pretty on national TV. Jim Tressel is not a top 5 coach anybody without a big 10 bias can clearly see that.
