Assuming Memphis and Kansas Win....Most Intriguing Elite Eight Game?

This is a surprisingly deep argument. After binging on Madness blowouts for the past two days, I am looking forward to some competitive matchups in the Elite Eight.

Davidson/Kansas is my pick.

With my bracket in shambles, I, like most of the country, have become enamored in Davidson's Elite run. I certainly was not aware of Stephen Curry before this tournament, and truly never cared about Davidson Basketball. Not that I knew it existed, of course.

I believe now that Ten-Seeded Davidson has a legitimate shot to beat this exciting Kansas team. In fact, Davidson has a more than legitimate shot to beat Kansas and advance to the Final Four.

So Stephen Curry and an unheralded small-market school taking on one of the biggest programs in NCAAB history, the Rock 'em, Chalk 'ems. Sounds exciting to me. MUCH more to come.

If I was betting in Vegas, I put money on the fact that your get more votes but I personally feel different about this throwdown.

I'm going to go with (1) North Carolina vs (3) Louisville

These teams are litterally molten hot. I burnt my tounge just talking about this matchup. Look at there scores in the tourney so far.

NC: 113-74, 108-77, 68-47 = +91 scoring dif.
LOU: 79-61, 78-48, 79-60 = +67 scoring dif.

These teams have just killed every team they've faced in this tourney so far. And they're going to create fireworks when they compete.

The reason that I'm going against Davidson is because even though they are a Cinderella and a great story, a lot of fans hate 'em. They are bracket busters! They a ruining everyone's bracket! They just got mine today when they killed Wisconsin!

What I'm trying to say is that I rather watch I high scoring game against two legit contenders than a game with one team which I myself, and I'm sure thousands of others, basically hate.

George Mason ruined a lot of brackets, but in years when you look back on Davidson's run-maybe you'll find it in your heart that you can appreciate alll that they've done.

I think Davidson/Kansas could result in a collossall upset and a classic game. If you've ever watched Davidson play any of it's Madness opponents, you'll see an exciting team led by an NBA level player. Match that with Kansas "off to the races" style of play, and I think we'll get a chance to see a gunslinging, high-scoring matchup.

Though I think Lou/NC is interesting, it doesn't have quite the potential I see in Davidson/Kansas, me believing that NC will dispatch L'Ville with relative ease. I actually think Memphis/Texas will be more entertaining to watch than Lou/NC.

More to come...going to Bruins game...

I won money that year so it really didn't bother me. lol

ANYWAYS....

Davidson is a hot/cold shooting team. They are very streaky and have been lucky that there shooting have been "hot". And when you rely so much on the three pointer, you bound to have a bad day.

The LOU/NC game is a matchup between two teams that have been blowing their opponents out of the water. One of those teams, are the number one overall seed and the favorite to win it all. And I think that Louisville has the best oppurtunity to take them down before the finals. Both teams match up great so look for it to be a high intensity, high scoring game.

Cinderella is cute and all, but I think the more entertaining game will be the number one overall seed versus the hardest team they face on the way to the championship.

God, I dearly, DEARLY hope that Louisville is not the hardest team North Carolina plays on the way to the title. What about Texas, UCLA, and Memphis? If UNC is to reach the Final, they're going to have to go through a team tougher than Louisville.

What I see in this Davidson/Kansas game is classic potential. I remember George Mason's Elite Eight game two years ago against UConn, how Billy Packer asked "What can Brown do for you?" As the game got more intense and Courtney Brown sunk a clutch layup. That's what I see in the Davidson game. I see the potential for a collossal upset that would be couple with a great up-and-down game. Davidson is fun to watch, as is Kansas. Davidson v. Kansas has the potential to be an 85-84 Double OT game, whilst I see NC/Lou as an 85-74 games.

I said "on there way to the finals". On there way to the finals they will play Lousiville then either Davidson or Kansas not the handful of other teams you listed.

Davidson is just a hot version of Duke, a streaky three point shooting team. They rely so much on the three ball that if their shots aren't falling they will have no way to win.

"Davidson v. Kansas has the potential to be an 85-84 Double OT game, whilst I see NC/Lou as an 85-74 games."

^^^I don't know where you coming up with that statement. Is it just a lucky guess? I see potential for me to win the lottery and for my Broncos to win the superbowl. Speculation without facts to back it up are as good as pizza without dough.

Judging by the way that Lou and NC have been blowing out teams I know this will be a high scoring, high energy game.

I'm thinking about this one so I might decline in a little.

I'm thinking the Lou/NC matchup but i dont know what to say...

What the hell its just a throwdown.

Courageous.

Memphis v. Texas will be very fun to watch.

i personnely like the Davidson match up

March 29, 2008  09:53 AM ET

My bracket isn't completely dead. If Louisville can beat UNC, I could still be in contention to win. I've lost 4 Elite 8 teams...Notre Dame, Butler, Pitt, Wisconsin.

March 29, 2008  09:53 AM ET

Davidson is a team of destiny. I think they are going to win it all.

March 29, 2008  10:27 AM ET

The UNC v. Louisville game will probably be the closest game in the next round of the tourney. I just don't see UCLA struggling against Xavier. Texas v. Memphis may be good but I honestly think that whichever team wants it the most is going to blow out the other team. No way will Davidson walk over Kansas like they did Wisconsin. Kansas has much more depth.

Texas vs Memphis

March 29, 2008  01:17 PM ET

Texas and Memphis will be a fun game to watch. I think UNC is dare I say it OVER RATED!!! Who have they played really?? The teams that were some what decent gave them hell. There road through the tourney has ben EASY! That is why they have a high scoring diff. Davidson and Kansas have the potential but really this is Kansas we are talking about probably the best team in the tourney as much as I hate to say that. Here is to a Big 12 Finals Texas vs Kansas!
