Pick one person from each of the five rotation slots.

Ace: Carlos Zambrano, CHC
Second: Kenny Rogers, DET
Third: Jake Westbrook, CLE
Fourth: Carlos Silva, SEA
Fifth: Tim Wakefield, BOS

Regarding my picks, there were guys who were worse, but not necessarily overrated. Kevin Milwood is not good, but I don't think he is overrated. With that being said, here is my overrated rotation:

Ace- Barry Zito, SF
Second- Mike Mussina, NYY
Third- Kyle Lohse, STL
Fourth- Jose Conteras, CHW
Fifth- Adam Eaton, PHI


You can copy picks. But hey, I'll argue. Contreras was my backup option.

Both aces are very overrated.
Our second starters are both aging.
Lohse is overrated. I have his autograph, and I might have to give money to sell it. But Westbrook is always among the "bounceback candidates" for fantasy and he's never proven.
Both fourth are very overrated.
I chose Wakefield over Eaton because of how much everyone loves Timmy's knuckler. Yes, it's probably the greatest one in baseball now. But he has no second pitch. Once hitters learn that the knuckler won't always cross the plate, he's fried. Not many people talk about Eaton.


Zambrano had more innings pitched, more wins, a lower BAA, a lower WHIP, more strikeouts, and a lower ERA. Zito got 126 million dollars, and he went 11-13 with a 4.53 ERA. Zito got a huge contract and had huge expectations, but he did nothing. He is far more overrated than Zambrano.

Last year, Mussina had a .311 BAA, and a 5.15 ERA. A 5.15 ERA! He pitched barely over 150 innings, and is a second starter. Mussina is very overrated.

Lohse went 9-12 with a 4.62 ERA. Then, he got a 4.25 this year, to play for the Cardinals. Talk about overrated. Like you, I have seen Lohse first handed. Lohse is far more overrated than Jake Westbrook.

Contreras went 10-17 with a 5.57 ERA. This is a guy who was an All-Star just a few years ago. Now, he is plain and simply overrated.

Eaton pitched 30 games last year, and he had an ERA of 6.29. Talk about awful, he also has a contract worth 24 million dollars. Eaton can be described in one word- overrated.

Well, I don't really know how to argue that.

Zito got 126 million, and look what he did.

Mussina had a 5.15 ERA.

Lohse had a 4.62 ERA and got over 4 million this year.

Contreras was an All-Star, now he had a 5.57 ERA.

Eaton got 24 million to post a 6.29 ERA.

Your guys are overrated, but I feel my rotation is more overrated.

Interesting...I wouldn't exactly call Zambrano overated just yet. He has shown he can pitch. I think I can come up with pitchers that are more overrated.

And I don't think Rogers is that overrated. I've never heard people say he's that good, because of his injury.

To help your argument against Zambrano. If you take out his month of July this past year, he ERA rose to 4.526. He had one good month and was awful the rest of the time.

Not to mention he had the highest WHIP of career, 1.33, the most Home runs, 23, and the most Earned runs, 96.
