The Colts haven't really lost that many good players

im tired of people saying that the colts have lost to many players repeate, however the only starter that they lost that was of any importance was cato june.

they lost Dominic Rhodes and he was a big key of why they won Super Bowl 41 other then Manning and Addai. this puts alot more pressure on Addai. Cato June's loss is big to. there defense was bad enough last year with June, who is among the top 20 linebackers overall in the NFL. how are they not impressive

I agree but, the colts are getting back Cory Simon to play along with Mcfarland and they're getting Bob Sanders back. We have back ups to replace Cato in the depth chart, and he won't be as missed with Bob Sanders returning.

Who cares that they are getting Corey Simon. this is about the people they lost not gained and they lost alot of good players. Rhodes is a good running back and June is a good linebacker. and i did not hear that they lost their corners, but if they did, that is another big loss. but Rhodes and June leaving are still big losses

both of the corners that we lost sucked and were back ups anyways. Rhodes eased the transition for Addai and was never as good as him. this season though, i would look for Addai to be the main running back instead of sharing with Rodes. Gonzalez could replace Stockley (Stockley hardly even played last season) the only major loss was to June and he can be replaced. So when you think about it, the Colts really haven't lost that many good players

June can be replaced, but the Colts did not replace him. Nick Harper started last year, he was not a backup and the Colts had a bad defense anyway.

Didn't they lose both starting CBs?

Report Offensive Comment

So uh, losing your two best CBs isn't a "big" loss?

Colts fans are the delusional ones.

DOMINIC RHODES????????????ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THE GUY THAT EVERYONE SAID COULDNT FILL EDGE'S SHOES?????????
and oh wait a minute, what did addai do? OH YEAH CRUSH DOMINICS NUMBERS IN THE REG SEASON.....but you must be right

Report Offensive Comment

Yes, they did. They also lost Rhodes (not a big deal), Cato June (somewhat of a big deal), and Mike Doss (always injured, not too big a deal, but big enough to cause them to have to scramble to fill it).

Report Offensive Comment

the cb's will effect them, but they have a good enough system in place that they wont lose THAT much sleep over them......cato is good, but wait and see, he will not do as good as he did with the colts......if you were or are a colts fan, you wouldve notice over the years, that when they lose a key player, they have someone step in, and they do GOOD ENOUGH, the next year they are just as good

Report Offensive Comment

cato is the biggest problem, but still not that big, its not like we lost a ed reed, or urlacher or something....cato isnt the quarterback of the defense....he wasnt the MOST IMPORTANT key to the defense....and

HEy pat i just voted for u now come vote for me

I bleed blue, but come on they did lose half of their defense. Nick Harper, Jason David, Mike Doss (that will be filled easy), Cato June, Dominic Rhodes, and Brandon Stokley.

Who did they get in the offseason you ask? Rick Demuling..

Report Offensive Comment

One problem with your assumption, ballingjoe, that Cato June won't do as well in Tampa Bay: Tampa Bay runs the cover 2 defense...invented by Tony Dungy that June has played in for all of his career. He will be just as good in Tampa.

Report Offensive Comment

David was possibly the worst starting corner in the league last year. Harper wasn't any good either.

Report Offensive Comment

Uh, then please explain, while "losing no one significant" during the last offseason, you managed to fall from the #11 Defense to the #21 Defense?

Or how you went from the 16th ranked rush defense to the 31st?

Or how you went from the #2 scoring defense to #23?

Oh, that's right. I guess those WERE significant losses.

Report Offensive Comment

I meant to say 32nd -_-"

Report Offensive Comment

no that was because the main lineman was injured at the begginning, and our big run stopper bobby was hurt i think 13 games.? our corners got burnt constantly,......just like they did in practice.....cato june will be a big loss....but he wont be as good in tampa for the single fact, that they have a good secondary, they dont need him to be who he was in indy.....he wont lead tampa in tackles ints ff or anything....he wont suck....but he wont be their star like he was ours

Report Offensive Comment

o yea, and they lost Stockley, a great No. 3 reciever. could start in alot of other teams

Report Offensive Comment

Yes, because being #2 in Pass Defense shows getting "burned"

And Corey Simon is LOL, I told you.

Being 293 pounds at the DT position doesn't help.

And right now it's looking like he's not coming back.

Nick Harper, Jason David, Cato June in my opinion those were there 3 best D players besides Sanders and Freeney

Report Offensive Comment

Harper and David sucked

Report Offensive Comment

Losing Rhodes takes away the 2 back system. That will probably hurt the overall run production and hurt the balance of the offense. Losing June hurts the D.

Key losses

Report Offensive Comment

O wow. Let's see who they lost.

June (was overrated)
Harper (Too Busy Getting Stabbed By Wife To Be Good)
David (Too Slow and small)
Stokley (Injured)
Rhodes (Ran Just Like He Drove: Drunk)
Doss (Injured and Bethea was better)
Reagor (Injured)

So they lost 4 guys who didn't play in the Super Bowl, one who sucked up until the Super Bowl, and two who sucked all year long.
