First I hit accept and it made me the producer of this throwdown so whats up with that.
Not going to do any research just going to say Clay Buchoulz because I am a big Red Sox fan,
I have a couple of reasons for my decision.
1. He plays on the Red Sox so getting a win is a lot easier than on other teams. Tim Wakefeild had a 4.57 ERA and still got 17 wins last year. He has the talent to keep his ERA under 4 and with that offense a high number of wins will be his.
2. He proved how good he could be in his three major leauge starts last year. First, he outoitched John Lackey who ended up winning the ERA title for the American leauge. Then in only his second major leauge start the kid throws a no-no pretty convincing he has talent.
3. He has a cool first name( just a joke so don't kill me on it)

Thers a few people that would fit this agenda but theres one that pops in my mind.
No reaserch here either but my pick is Brett Myers. Anibal Sanchez was my second choice BSchwartz. The Odalis Perez was my 3rd Choice.(not that it matters)
Myers needs to break out of his shell. He is raring to get back into the starting lineup after a dissapointing year last season. What makes my case here is he looked pretty promising in the game against the Nats. I mean not exactly that it means the world but still.
Brett also has a ton of talent, he has good potential to be great. He also has a lot of pitches to throw keeping the batters on there toes. Like BSchwartz said below "don't be shocked to see him shipped back to AAA" I agree. He needs to be groomed a little more. He doesnt quite have that factor to throw another no-no.
he has a cool name what kinda argument is that? Just kidding.

the problem with Bucholtz is that the Sox don't really want him at the MLB level just yet. They feel he needs more grooming, so don't be shocked to see him shipped back to AAA soon.
Also look at Sanchez, the guy that threw a no-hitter his rookie year for the Marlins. hasn't really done anything since.

If Myers had a great year, it wouldn't really be a break-out. But he had less than 10 wins so he counts I guess.

as for Clay as the #4 or #5 starter, well when Schilling comes back Clay no longer has a spot in the rotation.
