best three college football endings

has to be the last play so no boise state

1.Stanford vs Cal (band)
2.Boston College vs Miami (Doug Fluties hail mary)
3.Trinity vs Millsaps (15 Laterals)

good luck

1. same
2. Boise State over Oklahoma (the hook and lateral and then the Statue of Liberty) how could you not have that in there.
3. Trinity vs. Milsaps so the same.

The main point for argument here is The Boise State play. That was the most ridiculous ending I have ever witnessed. Jared Zabransky was just picked off and Oklahoma got the ball again. They marched down the field and then got to 4th and way long. They go into their bag of the tricks, and pull out the hook and ladder. It was executed perfectly. The two D-backs went to the person who caught the ball and the WR pitched to another WR who was running full force down the field. These types of plays don't happen much. This one was done perfectly.

They score.

Now they have a decision to make, and like in Normal Cinderella fasion they choose the one to put it away. They had the balls to go with a play that hasn't been used since the 1960's (using a hyperbole). It was gutsy and old fasion. Have everyone string one way then have Ian Johnson run it back the other. Great play also executed to perfection. Plus to top that Ian Johnson asked his girlfriend to mary him.

It was the perfect Cinderella, execution and love.

okay
i said it had to be the last play the boise state thing was two plays
just the statue would have been great but not worthy of being in the top three without what had happened before it. so it was really more than one play.
i said the last play so really you didnt follow the rules that i put forth.
stanford cal=the last play
doug flutie=last play
trinity millsaps=last play
see what i mean
if it was just endings then of course i would have boise or if it was greatest games but it is greatest final plays.

I disagree with you I believe that they statue of Liberty was ins a BCS game. That is what made it special.

All the ones you named were all during the regular season. THe fact that it was a bowl game let alone a BCS game makes it such a great ending.

Sure you said that this was about the greatest endings in football and that includes the season sure. Still you cannot take away from the fact that it was huge.

This is the first time ever that a non BCS school made it to a BCS game. Then to win it in the fasion that they did was an amazing feat. Making that ending better than the Doug Flutie Hail Mary pass.

This was a freak game. No one really expected Boise State to do much. Then they dig into their bag of tricks and pull out the Statue of Liberty.

THat play is reserved for backyard football games not a BCS Bowls game.

Sorry I ran out of room in the last argument. So good luck.

NOT AGAIN

Chengy you got the ending wrong anways >__________>

The game went into OT

Report Offensive Comment

Whatever. It was two years ago I am going from memory.

I know they didn't score on the Hook and Ladder. I just couldn't remember if it went into OT or not.

Stanford Cal
Flutie's prayer
Colorado's fifth down or Kordell's prayer

Report Offensive Comment

I know what it wasn't...Mizzou being left out of the BCS last year and being forced to thrash Arkansas.

Report Offensive Comment

They scored on the hook and lateral....that just sent it into OT....

And then Peterson had a 25 yard TD run.

Then Boise marched 20-ish yards and scored on the HB pass.

Then they went for the win with the Statue of Liberty

Best. BCS. Game. Ever.

Report Offensive Comment

Yes, yes it was. I absolutely was glued to the screen.

Report Offensive Comment

why no boise st? statue of liberty was a great ending!

Report Offensive Comment

Nah, the 2006 National Championship was better.

I'm surprised no one mentioned that. I mean I know he said "last play" but still that had an amazing ending. Vince Young scrambles right and runs into the endzone on 4th down with 19 seconds left bringing his rushing total to 200 yards and total yards to 467, and scoring his 3rd TD. He also scored the 2 Point Convert

It is not that game because well the Long Horns were not a Cinderella.
