The last time I check the NBA Standings (and that was 2 minutes ago) it showed the Lakers with 56 wins, The Pistons with 57 wins and The Celtics with 65 wins. That make 2 Teams that are better than the Lakers right now.

An argument can also be made for the Spurs... As the defending Champs they are the best team until they are defeated in the playoffs.

I think the Heat are the best, i mean they could chose to be in the playoffs but they are so good they are taking the post season off.

Real strong argument there, Bravesfan. "They have Kobe and Gasol". And? The Celtics have Allen, Pierce, and Garnett. The Suns have Nash, Stoudemire, and Shaq. The Pistons have Billups, Wallace, and Prince. See what I'm getting at here? It really takes three solid stars, and the Lakers don't have them. Sure, they have Oden, but he's not going to cut it and Bynum isn't going to be ready to seriously contribute.
You obviously didn't put much thought into this and that's why you're getting stomped. Bravo, homer. Bravo.

Report Offensive CommentMavs chose to win last night so they could face inexperienced NO in first round; Kobe is a Mavs killer, but he may be suprised when AI comes to town. Denver can't win, but they can tire him out. Then SA beats LA, Mavs beat Spurs. Mavs/Celts in Finals, Mavs lose...again. Simply beaten, not collapsing like that Miami debacle.
