You take the GM/owner job of the Eagles

What do you do to rebuild the team?

Draft, FA, Coaching ETC

You get ONE argument - 1200 words max- NO second or third argument - you can/must submit blank arguments


Let the people vote on the better PLAN only- but if you feel like defending yourself in the comments that???s fine.

I have mine written- and will submit it as Arg 2 (I will not have a third argument) If you prefer I will mail it to a third party to ensure that I have not copied any of your ideas

Fannation will judge the winner on:

Plausibility -(I.E you don;t trade your 7th round pick for Peyton Manning and your next years number 4 for LDT)

Overall plan - Would it work?

Thought Process- does this show a Eagles fan a plan that COULD work?

Here's how I'm doing this as the Eagle's GM:

I like what we have at RB, QB, OL, LB, and even CB.

First I trade Lito Sheppard and a 2nd rounder to the Atlanta Falcons for a 2nd round and a 5th rounder this year.

To shore up the OT position where there is age, I will go after Max Starks who has a transition tag with the Steelers.

Limas Sweed WR round 1: Sweed has precision and separation. His size makes it possible to get throws over the middle and gives the team another offensive weapon.

Jamie Silva DB round 2: Silva can ball hawk and tackle. Perfect for a Jim Johnson system. He can play SS for now, and be Dawkins eventual successor.

Duane Brown OT round 2 Brown has the athleticism and ability to learn under my O-line coach who makes starters out of UDFA's.

Kendall Langford DT round 3: I want more depth at DT than LaJuan Ramsey and a bunch of old guys.

Jeremy Leman LB round 4 This guy is described as a student of the game by Mayock of NFL.com He has the versatility to run stuff and be part of the pass protection.

After this I pick up any developmental prospects that are available at OL, DB, and WR respectively.


Ok walking in the door with the Cap gone as it is- I can tell that the previous management is not looking to build- this team has to win and win NOW ??? so trading is not an option ??? dumping DM and starting over is not going to work long term.

So I go the other way- I???m trading my 3rd and 1st to move up to Detroits spot- and getting Rashard Mendenhall ???

Rational is I need to rest Westbrook some- and I am not that confident with him on 3rd and 1 ??? 3rd and 3 fine but I don???t know if he is a plunge type runner- that and I feel Donovan should run more rolling routes meaning I want to use Brian almost as a TE at time with his catching ability ( think Larry Centers)

I???m going to trade my Number 2 possibly a next years pick (a 1 or a 2) for a Wideout that I can use- Starting with Chad and going down- there is NO good Wideout this year that can help me- From Thomas on down a WEAK draft for wideout and I have to get one

I am going to use the rest of my picks on Defensive help- I need some youth and a CB for AS to groom

I have get younger at the LB core But there are going to be a ton left there in the 2nd where I pick so I should be able to get a pretty good stuffer there.

David- Are we supposed to support our arguments in here?
