Frank Thomas
Sammy Sosa
Randy Johnson

Randy Johnson plays the the D-backs, a NL team.

My picks are,

1) Frank Thomas.

2) Alex Rodriguez.

3) Mariano Rivera.

That's the list.

Sorry i have to change my pitcher because Johnson does pitch in the AL i am sorry. Now i guess i will pick MAriano Rivera because there is no other AL pitcher to pick. So we are just arguing A-Rod against Sammy Sosa now. When Sammy Sosa was in his prime, there was no stopping him. In 4 consecutive years Sammy hit more than 60 home runs in 3 of the four with 50 in the other. The most Alex has ever hit in 1 season is 57, which Sammy topped 3 times. When Sammy was on, he was on, although A-Rod has had more than his share of choke-jobs as you have seen if you have been watching Yankee games in the past few years. Sosa is also a much better career fielder than Alex Rodriguez which is also important if you want to win. Lastly, if Sosa stays in the MLB for a couple more years he could potentially pass Willie Mays in career home runs, and maybe even enter the 700 club. Alex Rodriguez is far from those two accomplishments, and he could have a couple of bad years and not accomplish that. He is getting up there in age, and lots of things are possible like early retirement or even a career ending injury, or like i said before, just having a couple years where he only hits 20 wont help him.

Sosa vs A-rod

Sosa is currently a free agent. He was born in 1968, putting him at about 40 years old. The Rangers have no interest in offering him another contract. So it would seem that Sosa is done.

A-Rod is on pace to break the all-time HR record.(522 currently) He was born in 1975. Alex ALREADY has 3 MVP's.

He is as close to being a lock as is possible, to pass Sosa in HR, RBI, and hits. A-rod already has passed Sammy in runs and doubles, while owning a higher career batting avg, OBP, and SLG%.

A-rod is on pace to end his career with well over 3,000 hits, as well as 2,000 runs, 2,000 rbi. And maybe 800 HR....maybe...add a few more MVP's....

I don't want to get into an argument on the integrity of Sosa's homeruns. Have you seen the pictures of him during his 50+ HR seasons? He's huge. Like McGwire and Bonds.....Sosa led the league in HR twice, A-rod has led the league 5 times...

Alex Rodriguez is already arguably much more likely to make the HOF than Sosa, and A-rod is only 32. Eight years younger.

McGwire had some great HR years, and is he in the HOF? Do you think his buddy Sammy will fare much better?

Sosa is good, but A-Rod is better and you have me there i forgot about him, odd because i am a yankee fan

You're a Yankee fan? Cool! You guys gonna like your new stadium? Too bad it won't be as nice as AT&T Park in SF........;-)

The Yankees have some future HOF'ers on the team, but the question remains, can they win a WS with A-rod? Not because it's A-rods fault that they haven't yet, but can they surround him with enough talent?

Both Sosa and A-rod have has their share of forgettable moments...ball slapping, yelling "ball", corked bats, profane wife, etc. But I think that is is obvious to even casual baseball fans, that Alex Rodriguez is a future HOF'er and one of the best hitters of our era.....

Yes Bart, Randy used to play for the Mariners and Yankees, but he now pitches for the D-backs. (And my giants beat him in his first start last week)

No doubt every player both you guys have chosen will make the HOF, but AROD is a beast, Sammy is good, but isn't as good. Vote to Cain
