I am gonna go with the reigning champ.... Tom Brady.

He may have lost one of his weapons, but it was not a very valuable one. He still has the great Randy Moss and Wes Welker. As well as Ben Watson and Jabar Gaffney. Keep in mind he also has the past high second round talent of Chad Jackson, who has had a chance to step into Stallworth spot or Gaffney's old role.

Belichick and Brady are two very stubborn, highly competitive guys who have alot to prove after choking last year. I would be highly surprised if the Pats do anything less than come out and pick up right where they left off at the begining of last year. It was their reliance on the run late in the year that took the high flying offensive off it's course and they will not let that happen again.

Tom Brady will have another ridiculous year at QB and will probably take a shot at Marino's record of 5084 yards. Their are some good points against him and I have thought of them, but I will see what you can come up with first CUZ, before I tell you why those will not affect him.

I am taking Peyton Manning, he too had a great year with 4000 yards but he did so without his safety blanket Marvin Harrison for 11 games. Harrison, Wayne, Clark, Gonzalez, and Addai provide Manning with one of the best offense units in the league. Peyton is still the most consistent quarterback and his lowest passing yards during a season was 3739 and that was his rookie year. Manning being the ultra competitive person that he is will want to try to match what Brady did.

Tom Brady had an amazing season, but their offense was an extremely pass happy attack. Since Belichick and Brady just want to win, why would they continue an attack that did not get them a Superbowl Ring when their more balanced approach provided them with 3. I see them playing a more balance offense in which Brady will post numbers a little higher than his career average of 3300 per season.

You mentioned losing a weapon, in Donte Stallworth and said he wasn't valuable, he was a third receiver that put of 700 yards to me that is pretty valuable. And then you want to replace that with Chad Jackson who has 13 career receptions for 152 yards, I don't think so.

More to come, Good Luck.

I will start with Manning.......... They already stated Marvin's injury will leave him never being the same as he was before. So even if healthy I don't see him ever performing like he used to. Secondly you say Peyton will want to match Brady. I disagree with you whole heartedly on that one. Peyton had his big time numbers years and they got him no where. He has thrown for an average of 4061 yards over the last 3 years since his explosion and that strategy does not appear to be one that the Colts want to get away from.

Lets get one thing straight Brady's career average is 3767 not 3300 and alot of that was with junk at reciever. The Balance you speak of was much better on the defensive side of the ball. The fact is the Pat D is not as dominant as back then. It was not the air it out style that cost them, but more the fact that Belichick seemed to change up the game plan at the end of the year. The air it out was doing just fine.

How valuable is Stallworth? 4 teams in 4 years. Sounds like no one wants him, once they see him play for them. Jackson will only be asked to be the No.4 and the fact is he has the talent and could even outproduce Stallworth after watching Moss and Wes

If Marvin's injury takes him down a notch from what he used to be, he should still be a pretty solid receiver. He doesn't have to be the number 1 option, the Colts have Reggie Wayne to fill that void. He should be well enough to produce great numbers for a number 2 receiver.

The Pats always lose players on the defensive side of the ball and every year we hear that their D is going to be worse than it was last year. Remember a few years ago when their whole secondary were no name players, they won the Superbowl that year. Until we start to see a major decline I don't believe that their D will be a problem.

Sure Stallworth is passed around quite a bit, but his number show that he was important part to the Pats offense last year. He played in all 16 games and started 9 of them, he had 46 catches for 697 yards. Those are some pretty good numbers, Jabar Gaffney and Chad Jackson would not have been able to put up those numbers.

The facts show that when a quarterback has a year the caliber of Brady's their next year they put up average numbers. Sure Brady is far from average but I see Manning putting up the most passing yards this upcoming season.

Marvin is a solid 2, but the Colts, of all teams have come to use the regular season as a prep for the playoffs. It has been very evident ever since Mannings huge year that got them nowhere. Marvins injury was a huge reason they lost in the playoffs and I don't see the Colts taking the kind of risk necessary for Peyton to outpass Tom.

While Stallworth put up some decent numbers, does it really matter who is catching when Brady throws the ball. He used to have David Givens at receiver, he got a fat contract and proved it was all because of Brady. Also Gaffney has put up a season similar to Stallworth with 41 for 632 in '04.

I think in the end the supporting cast are pretty similar.

So this is what it comes down to....... The Pats do not trust that Maroney and Morris can hold up for a whole season of major carries. They trust their o-line to block for Brady, much more than they trust their backs to stay healthy. I see no reason why either team will change their game plans next year. Brady threw for 4806 and Manning for 4040. That is a big difference to overcome. Past players have had trouble but that does not dictate the future and I see no reason beyond injury to deter

Throughout the whole season we kept seeing the Pats blowing teams out. They wouldn't take their stars out of games late and kept on throwing. Many people questioned this considering it only takes one angry player to put a big time hit on Brady to ruin a season. But Belichick was on a mission, he wanted to prove the Pats were the best team in the league and they didn't have to cheat to blow teams out of the water. He proved that to a point, but it cost him his ultimate goal, a Superbowl.

When playoff time rolls around the air it out style doesn't win football games, their offense was held to an average of 22 points per game which is much less than what they were doing during the regular season and Moss was completely taken out of games.

You and me both know that Brady and Belichick both want to win, that is reason enough for Belichick to change his game, plan so they can win. Even if they don't trust Maroney and Morris they have other backs and they have no problems giving it to them.

I see the Pats going back to their usual game plan and Brady getting back to his average numbers. While Peyton benefits from getting Marvin back and leads the league in yardage this season.

Battle of Cousins.

We should have just done McNabb vs. Romo, but I guess we will save that for another day.

Good Luck, matt matt

Ha, should be fun.

We'll see how much influence the Pats-haters have on this one. Good start though.

Yeah after I read my arguement all I could think was, oh crap people(self included) don't like the Pats.

peyton manning definetly he didn't play with hariison all last year (well most of the year) and he doesn't have a superbowl lose hangover

great reasoning their, pamand4life.

Tough call, no vote yet. I would like to point out that the act of choking means that you screw up and cost yourself the game through stupid, avoidable mistakes. The Pats did NOT choke in the SuperBowl. They got beat by a better team, plain and simple. The only thing that was not avoidable in that game was the Giants pass rush by Brady.

Packers1 thanks for your waiting and I do have to say that I disagree about them choking. The O-line was one of the best in the game all year and yes, I believe that they did choke. As well, the offense was a high powered no holds bar, go for broke attack and they changed their game plan and ran on 3rd and shorts, as well in other situations that they didn't all year. They played not to lose and clearly all year they had planned to destroy.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Drew Brees he was 2nd last year in passing and its only going to get high i can see McAllister having problems coming back from his injury... Reggie being well Reggie and that leaving it on Brees and his cannon to win games.
