So they've had a couple of bad seasons in recent years, but the Jets are awesome because of 2 blokes (and many more reasons to be added later).

Joe Namath
77 wins, 108 losses and 3 ties. In his career he threw 173 touchdowns and 220 interceptions. During his thirteen years in the AFL and NFL he played for three division champions (the 1968 and 1969 AFL East Champion Jets and the 1977 NFC West Champion Rams), earned one league championship (1968 AFL Championship), and one world championship (Super Bowl III).

Bruce Harper
The all time kick returner in New York Jets history with 5407 KR yards. He also served as the Jets PR from 1977 to 1982. He tallied up 1748 PR yards and 1 touchdown. He also played running back. His total yards are 11429, 1829 rushing yards, 2409 receiving yards, 1784 PR yards and 5407 KR yards.

There's heaps more stuff I'll add in the next arguement.
C'mon Jets Fans, I'm sure you can add make some contributions to the arguement.

The Jets are not a good team now. Take last season for example; their record was 3rd in AFC East (4-12-0), is that the sign of a good team? No.

Take these statistics into account for last years season (2007):

Averaged 16.8 points per game 25th in the league.
Averaged 294.7 yards per game 26th in the league.
Averaged 188.4 yards per game 25th in the league.
Averaged 106.3 rush yards per game 19th in the league.

The stats are staggering, the team statistics are lower than opponents in almost every aspect of the game: Want proof?

New York Jets Stats - (Source)

That website has all the stats to prove the Jets are not in good shape and are not a good contender at the moment. Manifestly, they suck.

The New York Jets also only have five hall of famers:

WEEB EWBANK (1978) - 1963-1973
Ronnie Lott (2000) - 1993-1994
DON MAYNARD (1987) - 1960-1972
JOE NAMATH (1985) - 1965-1976
JOHN RIGGINS (1992) - 1971-1975

As you can see from this none of these are recent additions to the almighty
Hall. The team is dated, they need new players and innovative coaching to take them to new levels. J. Namath and B. Harper are gone move on

Forfeited Turn

I shall have my revenge, the Jedi will fall...

Bring it Jets, you're mine

April 24, 2008  10:34 AM ET

Glad to see you guys back at it once again and justifying the existence of NMI.

April 24, 2008  10:36 AM ET

When Namath is your top reason for why the jets don't suck you're in big trouble....

April 24, 2008  10:39 AM ET

"Joe Namath" is your argument? The same one that had a losing record according to your own stats? Threw more INTs than TDs? Then you back it up with Bruce Harper? What's your next argument Chad Pennington?

Here is something to think about - since 1970 they have had 19 losing seasons and 12 winning seasons. (7 at .500)

Oh no.....The Jets Suck!!

April 24, 2008  10:49 AM ET

Dont forget the Jets had DE, Mark Gastineau....You should use his steroid popin, dirty needle usin, no testecal havin, counrty **** in your argument.

April 24, 2008  11:29 AM ET

I wish jetssuck would comment so I can vote for him

April 24, 2008  11:37 AM ET

Where is Jets Suck? Has he met Joe Black? What will his first argument be? How will Joe Black respond?...

The answer to these and other important questions, when return!

April 24, 2008  11:38 AM ET

* ...when WE return...geez!

April 24, 2008  11:53 AM ET

April 24, 2008  12:36 PM ET

Oops... he might be in trouble.

April 24, 2008  01:27 PM ET

This sounds more like a blog to me.

April 24, 2008  01:30 PM ET

The Jets are awesome because of Doug Brien. Clutchest kicker in NFL history

April 24, 2008  01:53 PM ET

HAHAHAHA. Good one NYGiants

April 24, 2008  03:02 PM ET

Nice.

April 24, 2008  06:17 PM ET

I can say one thing for sure, this TD certainly sucked

April 25, 2008  03:03 AM ET

Sorry for the slow response Steve. I was studying Italian yesterday and today being ANZAC Day (In Australia) I was at the dawn service to commemorate the veterans.

April 25, 2008  03:06 AM ET

"Where is Jets Suck? Has he met Joe Black? What will his first argument be? How will Joe Black respond?...
The answer to these and other important questions, when return!"

In response to that, I'm in my house in Queensland, Australia. I have met Joe Black (Steve) we go to the same school. How Steve responds, I have no idea, he'll probably rely on the Jets Fans to vote for him.

April 25, 2008  09:42 AM ET

Australia? Far out!

If you take away Lott and Riggins because they are more well known for their other teams, then that leaves only 3 HOFers.
