Absolutely. Three names.
Terrell Owens
Tank Johnson
Pacman Jones
Tony Romo(Jessica Simpson)
That's just currently. Personally, I think Michael Vick will go there once he is out of Leavenworth. Just kidding about that.

So there are many other players who have been major media influences yet have never suited up for the Cowboys... remember, Jones has only owned this team since 1989.
From Frenchie Fuqua & Joe Namath of yesteryear to the Chad Johnsons & Randy Mosses of today, many players have been vocal through media channels -- for better or worse -- without ever playing a down in Jones' employ. It is a cute theory, but one which under scrutiny fails to hold water...
And what, per se, does "heavily involved with media" mean exactly? EVERY player in the NFL is involved heavily in the media, whether they actively participate or not. With the seeming proliferation of all things football, every NFL player is scrutinized more than ever before. It could be something like Lance Briggs ditching his car after an accident; it could be news of all the NFL players involved with United Way... but most every NFL player, Cowboy or otherwise, is heavily involved in the media these days...
So please enlighten me as to how Jerry Jones is the depository for the most famous media darlings of the NFL -- Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are getting frustrated with the thought that they might have to compete with Romo...

Terrell Owens-could be the biggest media hogger of all-time. Doing sit-ups in front of cameras, trashing McNabb. Yet when things go wrong with Philadelphia, who calls? Jerry Jones.
Tank Johnson- Arrested for gun charges. In jail and out of the league for a year. Once he has served his sentence and the year is over. Johnson's phone starts ringing. "It's Jerry Jones, he says."
Tony Romo- Mr Jessica Simpson- uses his bye week for going to Mexico with his girlfriend. The tabloids go crazy. I can understand if it was Tom Brady, but someone who hasn't won one playoff game??? Jerry loves it.
Then there was Pacman- I am sure with the "making it rain' on the strippers, and paralyzing a clueless club owner with his gang, then going out to a strip club the day before his meeting with Goodell, Jones was drooling at the chance to sign him.
Please, don't talk about the 2 greatest QBs in the game getting frustrated with competing against Romo. Manning and Brady have the bling. Romo doesn't even have a playoff win.
Bigalke said 04/27, 05:13 AM
To refute your final paragraph of the second argument, the point about Brady & Manning was meant to illustrate how there are many people involved around the NFL who are media mavens yet do not play for the Cowboys...
You can list all the current Cowboys players you want. Hell, Michael Irvin should be enough to show that Jerry Jones has a propensity for rehabilitation cases. But hiring recidivists is completely different than hiring those who are "heavily involved with media"...
Peyton Manning does more commercials than any other NFL player. He is HEAVILY involved with the media. Last I saw, he had only donned a Colts uniform throughout his career. Tom Brady, the most successful QB of his generation in terms of championships, is also HEAVILY involved... and has been nothing but a Patriot throughout his career.
Does Jerry Jones have a streak of maverick spirit in him where he feels comfortable hiring people with sordid pasts? Certainly...
But does this signify that "ALL players who are heavily involved with media go to Jerry Jones"? Certainly NOT...

Forfeited Turn
Bigalke said 04/28, 09:14 AM
What, exactly, is "heavily involved with media" supposed to denote in this throwdown? It could mean many things. The examples Undefeated brings up in this throwdown all have TWO things in common, really -- they are Dallas Cowboys, and they have been in trouble with the law or the league (or, in some instances, both)...
However, there are many more ways to be "heavily involved with media" than merely breaking the law. As some of my previous argument has signified, who indeed is/are the biggest media faces of the NFL? It certainly isn't Adam Jones or Terry Johnson (you may know them as "Pacman" and "Tank"), or even Terrell Owens or Tony Romo...
Here's a hint -- their last name rhymes with "canning"...
In the end, the Cowboys may have a history under Jerry Jones' ownership of acquiring other teams' malcontents... but this hardly means that every NFL player heavily involved with the media puts on the Lone Star. If this were the case, we would have 32 teams all bedecked in blue and silver...
And as the draft showed us yesterday, this is empirically NOT the case...

Bad typo. I meant four names, not three.

There's no putting a forfeited turn aside. That's just plain inexcusable. Especially when you have to make a strong point to beat your opponents good arguments.
Somehow I am in no way shocked that NORCAL would vote for the uninformed argument with the forfeited turn. Way to go.
