Make an MLB lineup based on last years stats
Only Active Players
Players may not have had or more than 20 home runs
Only list in first argument

(No DH)
C-Russell Martin
1B-Todd Helton
2B-Brian Roberts
3B-Edwin Encarnacion
SS-Jose Reyes
LF-Carl Crawford
CF-Vernon Wells
RF- Jeff Francoeur

P-Micah Owings


C - Jorge Posada ****
1B - Helton
2B - Placido Polanco***
3B - Edwin
SS - Reyes
LF - Crawford
Cf - Ichiro*******
RF - Jeff Francoeur

p - Jake Peavy**8** ( i cant tell if you have something tricky)


i'll let it slide but Posada had 20 homers.

Russell Martin played phenomenal last year, 19 homer's 87 RBI's and a .293 BA. These are all less than Posada's but the stat that jumps out at me most is Martin's 21 Stolen Bases. This is a catcher, and he's got 21 stolen bases. When a catcher with a great bat, a great glove, and great speed comes around, why wouldn't you want him for your team?

Brian Roberts had 50 stolen bases last year, compared to Polanco's 7. Roberts also hit 12 homer's last year. Polanco does beat him in Batting Average and RBI's though.

Vernon Wells hits for much more power than Ichiro. He had 16 homers, and he drove in 20 more runs than Suzuki. I've got to go so I'll argue in much more depth tomorrow


i can see why you wouldnt want him because you would rather have a guy hitting 45 ponts higher BA 1 more homer and 3 more RBI's

and if you want to talk about a guy behind the plate.. he is a veteran compared to Martin.. he is good with young pitching

Polanco hit 341 to Roberts 290 .. He also had 69 less strikeouts (polanco = 30 ... roberts = 99) polanco had 200 hits and roberts onlyhad 180.. Roberts has never had a 200 hit season in his career..

Well 16 homers isnt much these days.. Vernon wells hit a dismat 265!!!!! Ichiro hit 351!!!!! almost 90 points higher than wells last year.. he had 238 hits to Well's 143.. Ichiro stole 37 bases and wells only stole 10.. he had a higher slugging percentage than vernon so he doesnt have that much power..

Kinda meaningless when you limit it to players with less than 20 home runs and can only use last years stats, don't ya think? Not to mention it's wrong, anyhow. Wells may have hit more HR's, but Ichiro had the higher slugging % .431-.402 last year.
