Boston Red Sox versus New York Yankees

I mean, come on- we literally hate each other!!! (GO SOX!!!)
Fights erupt over this rivalry such as Jason Varitek and A-Rod's big fight back in July of 04- and that was a big one!
We Red Sox fans absolutely hate they yankees and their fans, and I'm sure they hate us just as much.
Not really much to argue any more until someone takes this.

good luck to whoever does!

don't think i'll be able to finish this one- mom says get off in 10 min!!!

well im going to be a homer on this one only because its true...The Biggest sports rivalry is Michigan Vs. Ohio state (mainly the football rivalry, but a big one in general). What makes it such a big rivalry is they play at the end or the year. Almost every year on or both of them is in the lead for the big ten or in line for a national title shot. Football is more intense then baseball, and since they only play once a year it makes the game that much more anticipated. Between the 2 Michigan has won 11 championships and 42 Big ten titles while Ohio state has won 7 championships and 32 big ten titles....So since they are both winners it makes it that much more of a rivalry. Even if the one isn't up for a title run, the other will play its heart out until it bleeds just to end the other teams dreams. Each one of these teams would love to win a championship, but more players on these teams will tell you they'd be happy only to win one game, and thats the last one of the year...the ohio state vs michigan game....many stars have come out of this game and many Heismans have been won from it...It's the greats sports rivalry in the game today.

Forfeited Turn

The reason I think that having both teams is because it makes it that much more exciting. Before 2004 the red sox's hadn't won a world series in a long time, while the Yankees were always considered a contender and won many championships. So to me this doesn't make it very intense. I believe it has gotten better but you cant go against the Michigan vs Ohio state rivalry.

That game is the most intense game you will watch, because almost every year that will determine who goes to the rose bowl or the national championship game. When you have two teams that have both won championships and are always competing for one, too play each other ever year in the last game is intense.

I don't see where playing the same team every year 12 times and then maybe more in the playoffs can be so intense every game. It's not like something is on the line every time they play, like when Michigan and Ohio state play. Playing each other that many times just gets repetitious. Nothing can compare to the intense play that goes on between Michigan and Ohio state, because it's you win and make the rose bowl or you lose and don't. Not you lose and it's ok like the red sox's and Yankees series.
