From 2001-2005 this kid was EXPLOSIVE, Breaking tackles and Streaching out the backfeild, cuitting blocks, he was a one man highlight reel,

The kid dropped his Y.P.C by almost 2 yards in 2006 and lost 1000yards off his rushing the year before,

All this after he signed his "NEW" contract,

All of his stats are dropping, and when he plays it seems like he doesnt care,i beleive he has lost the passion for football. and this could be his last pro season,

He's been injured and the injuries caused him to not be the player he wanted to be so I do believe he lost the passion and the heart to play.

However, if he could get to the right team (a team with a decent o-line at least) I do believe he has at least 2 more seasons in him.

This next season will be his return from injury season, then the following season will be the true test for him. If he can be at least 75% of the RB he was, I believe he stays...if not, then he retires.

So I think he'll give himself at least 2 more seasons to see if he still has it before he hangs up the cleats for good.

2 more seasons?? do you think the Sea hawks Are going to put up with him for another year if his numbers drop... THIS KID HAS A 60MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT , Seahawks dont need a injury prone 60million dollar running back that can barely pump 700yards a season, And if the Seahawks release him they still have to pay 1/4 of the remaining 60MILLION because he didnt reach the Outcomes of the contract.. No one is going to pick up Alexander unless he signs a one year 2million dollar deal, and No Runningback who has lost passion for the game he once dominated would possible accept a 58MILLION DOLLAR decrease, Mind you the last bit was purely speculation, Alexander will hang up the cleats, and leave the game he once loved forever, why? HES A MILLION DOLLAR INJURY PRONE, "IV HAD MY MOMENT IN THE SUN NOW IM GOING TO NOT TRY ANYMORE AND WALK OUT THE DOOR WITH MY MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND MAYBE IL MOVE TO THE CARRIBEAN KINDA GUY" <-- sorry seahawks rage, but still hes got nothing else to give the franchise, but a huge medical bill,

Uh....the seahawks have already cut him....

So as soon as another team signs him, he will probably get a 2 or 3 year deal and as long as the money is coming in, he will play. He won't retire until his next team cuts him which won't be for 2 years (cap hits).

Give him 1 season to get over his injuries and see if he can still play, then give him 1 season after that. He may end up just being a backup somewhere but as long as a team is willing to pay him I'm betting he'll still play.

Ok lol.. so my other argument was correct *mini me finger on teeth*
And ya he will get o one year deal.. from a low ranking team, Along the same skill level as the raiders, hell go to training camp, and maybe back up in the first game,, touch the ball a few times, but if this kid can go the whole season without hurting himself, i would be amazed, when hes not playing hes like L-T was againts the patriots, Being lazy on the sidelines by himself not talking to anybody, Hes lost his passion for the Game of football, And a kid with _

1, Insecure Future in the league
2, Injury Probles
3, Madden Curse (its a valid reason)
4, More Money then he deserves (in my opinion)
5, No more passion or thrill for the fast paced game of football

He cant and wont last more then one more year before calling it quits

It still all comes down to money....if someone is willing to pay him to be a backup, heart or no heart, desire or no desire he will continue to play. It will take at least 2 seasons before his new team cuts him and then and only then will he retire (barring any new injury which forces him to retire of course).

If he has another underwhelming season he should definitely hang it up

April 28, 2008  09:11 AM ET

Good luck to you to, Il be back tonight i have to get to class. hope you dont mind, Have a good one

April 28, 2008  09:28 AM ET

him retiring depends more on when his contract is up rather then his personal decision. As long as he has money coming in he isnt going anywhere.

April 28, 2008  09:30 AM ET

That was going to be my next argument Whalers.

The Seahawks cut him a few weeks ago. The guy's a free agent now.

Vote to rstowe. At least he knows that.

April 29, 2008  09:06 AM ET

Maybe the Texans will sign him. Then they'll at least have a capable running game (Chris Brown, Steve Slaton, Ahman Green, Shaun Alexander)

April 29, 2008  09:08 AM ET

aha alexander will keep playing

April 29, 2008  10:04 AM ET

alexander is done stick a fork in him at best he will be a third down back, but he will hang around for a few more years hoping to regain what is gone
