Best second round pick? worst second round pick?

best: ill say all of the redskins picks in the second round. They had no threat on the outside with just randel el and moss they are more slot guys and deep threats. With the additions of devin thomas( in my and some others opionion best wr in the draft) fred davis t.e. from usc and malcom kelly they have more situations where they can go two tight ends or 4 wide or sub out when moss has his hamstring problems again

worst:Brian brohm - not that i dont like the guy but he will never see the field over rogers unless he gets hurt and the packers have said they would like to see rodgers win the job hes their guy for the future.

Best: I'll be fair and only go with one pick here even though you went with three. I'll take James Hardy by the Buffalo Bills. Hardy is 6'5" and around 220 pounds. He will be a number two receiver next to Lee Evans. He will be a perfect compliment to Evans, who runs deep routes down the field and takes advantage of his speed. He will be a huge threat in the redzone and he uses his size to his advantage very well. Hardy will have the opportunity to score a lot of touchdowns since he will be a great target for Trent Edwards in the redzone.

Worst: I'm going to start off by saying, how can Brohm be the worst? He was regarded by many as the second or third best quarterback in the draft and he dropped all the way 56 overall! The worst is Jerome Simpson by Cincinnati. He played receiver at Coastal Carolina. They took him BEFORE Limas Sweed, DeSean Jackson, and Malcolm Kelly! He isn't a good route runner and playing at Coastal Carolina, you know he didn't face top notch defenses. He isn't very fast or quick and he didn't separate much from the corners he faced. If they drafted him for a big play threat this was not a smart choice because he isn't one and doesn't stretch the field.

never said brohm was a bad quarterback it was a position of need that they didnt need and ill any one of the redskins wrs. they were all good picks ill take devin thomas i beleieve he will be the best wr in the draft. Hardy at buffalo will fade away like roscoe parrish and josh reed he will not get enough balls thrown his way.

The packers really dont see brohm as their guy then why pick him he was a waste of a pick.

For the bengals they needed a wr since crybaby johnson doesnt make enough money to feed his children, they like this guy for a reason he was a need pick it was a position they needed let alone like the packers drafted a backup quarterback for them. Bengals could have drafted any wr but you dont know yet if sweed and kelly will be better i know now that greenbay wants roders has their guy.

Brohm was an unbelievable value pick where they got him and who says he won't play? Rodgers can get injured at any time and it isn't like Favre will definitely come back and be the hero. The Packers are not completely sure if Rodgers can play through an entire season, it was a smart pick. Brohm is a good player too with a great pocket presence.

Hardy won't get enough passes? Hardy is will be like T.J. Houshmandzadeh (not that good) is to Chad Johnson. He will get his share of throws because Lee Evans will not always be open. He is the second best receiver on that team now and he will certainly get the ball thrown his way, especially in the redzone. What receiver doesn't want the ball there?

I understand that the Bengals need a wide receiver, but not that early. Their defense was terrible! They needed a free safety, defensive tackle, and a defensive end more than they needed a receiver. They still have T.J. and maybe you forgot, but he was tied for first in the league in receptions last year! Of course we don't know that Sweed and Kelly will be better, but they had more talent and more potential. Jackson would have been a better pick because he can return kicks, another need.

brohm had value of course in the secound round of course just not to the packers. They needed a lineman or a t.e. that can actually show up in games unlike bubba franks and david martin. Bengals again drafted for a need and wr was a need chris henry is gone and chad johson doesnt want to play so all they have is t.j.and i know hes very good but where would you want them to draft a wr.? there was no real good depth at de.so they went with a need choice at wr.

I'll give you a tip: try to use all 1,200 characters.

That doesn't mean quarterback wasn't also a need. After Rodgers they had no one. Brohm will be a solid NFL back up or he can become the starter somewhere else. He has the potential to be very good. He was extremely productive and college and it was ridicilous for him to drop that far. If they didn't take him they would have to go with someone like Andre Woodson who has terrible mechanics. It was smart not to take the risk. Tight end might have been a need, but if Rodgers is injured then who will throw to them? The only reason they would need a lineman was to grrom him under Chad Clifton. It wasn't an immediate need.

I said before, I understand receiver was a need, but why take Jerome Simpson? He wasn't a good value pick and it wasn't their biggest need. I would rank even Dexter Jackson above Jerome Simpson, with Simpson being the fifteenth best receiver in my mind. I would want them to draft a wide receiver and they fill their defensive holes. Defense was a bigger need for them. Defensive end may not have been deep, but it was a bigger need.

Good luck.

The "(not that good)" is supposed to mean Hardy won't be as good as T.J. in case anyone was confused.

Rodgers has good history of injuries so dont expect to see Brohm out there sooner then imagined

May 3, 2008  12:50 PM ET

Rodgers doesn't play, of course he will have a good history. Despite not playing much he has broken his foot and injured his hamstring in his pro career.

Donnie Avery was a horrible pick by the Rams.

The best pick was Phillip Merling drafted with the first pick in the second round. He was a first round prospect and fell all the way to the second. A steal, IMO.

May 3, 2008  12:57 PM ET

Donnie Avery was not a good pick, but Jerome Simpson was worse for the reasons I stated above. Merling was a first round prospect, but he did have injury concerns. They weren't huge concerns, but they were there. Brohm was also a first round prospect, but he had injuries as well. Both were good picks.

Best WRs in the draft was Limus Sweed/Devin Thomas(tie).

I agree, Tennessee should have taken Limas Sweed when they had the chance.

You only used 1115....

I think that Matt Forte could be argued as the worst pick, but I agree that the Simpson pick was fairly bad. (So were the Eddie Royal and Donnie Avery, but that's a little different...) The best pick in the 2nd round is also arguably Trevor Laws from Notre Dame...He isn't big, but he works like crazy....I also really like the Jordy Nelson pick at 36 to Green Bay, he's a slot guy, and he's going to fit in great alongside Driver and Jennings....

If I kept arguing it would stop in the middle of a word and there's no need to be picky.

Matt Forte was a stretch, but the Bears did need a running back. You make some good points, but I still like James Hardy as a compliment to Lee Evans.

Vikings did pretty well with their 2nd rounder, best saftey in the draft. In a couple of years, will be able to see how good.

True, but the competition he faced while playing at Arkansas State was not very good so that hurts him.
