you made a blog that said that you would vote against people that mispell well in almost every case people just don't care if they mispell i will shorten words i think that is absurb that you will vote against a person for their spelling
Give them a break

Here's the whole blog post (for those, like myself, who are too lazy to click over to it):
"Should someone be voted against for mispelling to/too, your/you're, or the most infamous there/their/they're. I've seen that a lot lately, and I tend to vote against those people. I do that mainly b/c their argument isn't good tho. I really want to correct them if the argument is that bad, but it's never worth it. I think that it's incidental that I vote against them usually.
Its/It's is a little harder to spell correctly.
Spelling is on ESPN, so it must be a sport. Can you say throwdown anyone (I think I've already seen that one.)"

Notice how I forgot question marks and probably misspelled "mispell". The key sentence of the post was "I do that mainly b/c their argument isn't good tho." As in, I don't vote against someone just b/c their spelling is bad.

I just see their/there/they're misspelled a lot, and it does detract from their case.

I made a throwdown about throwdowns, and I would not like to continue this one too much longer b/c the public voted against that one.

First if a guy/gal spells some word wrong it should not be help against him/her most people in this world can type if their young then even more but most people don't really care if they flip-flop a letter or 2 cuz i usually spell believe, beleive, cuz its just easier to get to those letters in that order
Spelling shouldn't be a big marking off point in a throwdown if you get wat they are saying (see i spe what like wat cuz (see i used cuz instead because) then that should be all that matters

First off, typos are one thing, and it's definitely ok to have typos.
Second off, abreviations are common online, notice how I say "tho" instead of "although".

I'll reiterate: I don't vote against people specifically b/c they have bad spelling, I vote against them b/c their argument is bad or it doesn't overcome my opinion of the topic. I tend to think that making something easier to read encourages someone to vote for you.

You're doing more than flip-flopping a letter or two in the last argument. Your spelling/grammar is starting to get in the way of your argument, just so ya know buddy.

i don't know if your being sarcastic or not but i'll let it slide.....
if your blog had more clearly stated that then maybe this wouldn't be here but it wasn't clear....
nice throwdown

I was only sarcastic in the last sentence. The rest was serious. I meant the first sentence to be a question.
Here's my three main points:
1) Spelling isn't really a big deal. It only gets in the way when you can't read the argument, so it can matter sometimes. It can only make someone look worse.
2) You put words in my mouth in your first two other arguments and title.
3)This throwdown is dumb b/c it's not about sports. You should've commented on my blog instead of making a bad TD.

Got to go with A shizzle on this one. Unless the spelling is so bad it looks like a different lanaguage...

I'm not gonna hold it against someone for making a typo, or switching the I's and E's or something of the sort, but at least try to sound intelligent when you make an argument. If I have to labor to understand what you're trying to say because you're purposely misspelling words and using just absolutely god awful grammer on purpose, i'm going to vote against you, and probably mock you, lol.

June 18, 2007  08:43 PM ET

If it's really, really bad, I'll probably vote against that person. I'm getting pretty sick of seeing "halarious" and "Wrigly Field."

June 18, 2007  08:43 PM ET

If it's not that bad, I'll vote normally.

June 18, 2007  08:44 PM ET

Str8EastCoastin, you spelled "grammar" wrong.

June 18, 2007  08:44 PM ET

sometimes i type so fast i transpose letters, if i were deabting you live i would nto transpose my speech, you cannot vote based off spelling this aint the B.......

June 18, 2007  08:44 PM ET

c i did it there

June 18, 2007  08:47 PM ET

I think EastCoastin has it right. I'm going to try not to hold a bias on you for misspelling, but to be honest, correct spelling and grammar does make you look better and more intelligent.

LMFAO @ me.

June 18, 2007  08:50 PM ET

i am proposing a new rule if your throwdown is a "joke" throwdown put an * at the begining so those of us that are more seious don't waste our time...not that this is one of those...

June 18, 2007  10:14 PM ET

It's a throwdown about throwdowns, so it's not essentially about sports. Unless he was arguing about the validity of spelling being a sport, but he is only refuting my supposed claim that I vote against people who spell bad (which is not entirely true). It's not a joke throwdown, but it's not a real one b/c it's not about sports, so maybe it could get a # before it b/c it's a throwdown about throwdowns.

who cares about mis speling words
i do all the time. some time i porbasly mispel words. some time it shorten words up and is easyser to rember that way
who cares

June 18, 2007  10:41 PM ET

I would never vote against someone because of spelling. That's like awarding a team a win because their uniforms are nicer.

June 18, 2007  10:43 PM ET

Exactly, I never said to vote against someone solely for that reason.

Please do as you say and read the arguments.

June 18, 2007  11:40 PM ET

Did you konw taht the hmaun biran can raed a setennce as lnog as the fsirt and lsat lteetrs are in the rhgit pacle? The bairn lokos at the wolhe wrod isnetad of ecah leettr. So slipelng deos not mteatr as lnog as the raeedr udsnanretds waht is wtretin, but it's easier to understand when it is spelled correctly, isn't it?

June 18, 2007  11:54 PM ET

Cut the crap stop making pointless throwdowns 4 an eazy win A Shizzle your taking advantage of throwdowns all together

June 18, 2007  11:55 PM ET

I was kinda thinking that but didn't want to say it in the argument.

June 19, 2007  12:13 AM ET

Who cares if people mess up with to/too. Stupid.

June 19, 2007  12:51 AM ET

What I hate is when people don't use punctuation. It makes the arguments so hard to read.

June 19, 2007  09:09 AM ET

I care more about people not using periods.
