This TD would preferably be taken by a GB fan....

1 Bears Defense will be healthy....which everyone that is a bears fan knows wasn't the case last season....Even with an unhealthy bears defense, they still managed to give the packers 2 of L in their Loss column...

2 Aaron Rodger...im not bashing him here. im just putting his name out here becasue he has never had the honor in playing in one of these games. Every one knows when it comes time to play your rival team the stakes are increased...the play intensifies and anything can happen . His lack of playing time in general will dictate how well the Packers season will go already, im not seeing him being to comfortable against the Bears Defense. Also if Rodgers doesn't perform well in the beginning of the season who's to say that GB wont go and put Brohm in the game...and with that in place it looks like the bears would tear the rookie apart..

3 Lovie Smith. He has GB number since taking over as a coach....he is 6-2 against them, with the only two losses coming from the first season he took over. thats right with the 5-11 team he took over

4 Rival game.....who doesn't think that there team will win in the rival games?

Let's see...who do the Bears have at QB? No one. I'd consider taking Aaron Rodgers or Brian Brohm, both of whom are enigmas, over Rex Grossman and the rest of the Goonies, none of whom have shown they can throw a ball. At least Rodgers has been learning behind one of the best quarterbacks in recent memory.

And for your running game...or lack thereof. Cedric Benson reeks of bust, Adrian Peterson has likewise shown nothing, and Matt Forte hasn't either. The Packers are well-off here with Ryan Grant.

Your top receiving threats combined for 570 yards last year, and your next best guy is a return specialist. The Pack have Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, James Jones, Koren Robinson, and even Jordy Nelson. Any comparison?

Chicago's D is also being overrated by you. It remains relatively unchanged from last year, when it ranked 16th in Pts/G, and 28th in Yds/G (including 24th against the run and 27th against the pass). The D picked up no new starters, and defense wasn't addressed in the draft until the end of the 3rd round.

Oh yeah, and Lovie lost to GB in '04 and '06, not both in '04.

Lets see, those QB's that you claim did so horrible for the bears were the same ones that absolutly blanked GB in one of the games last year 35-7...and then winning IN GB 27-20....

and that was with our reeking running game....

and worthless wide receivers....

and horrible qb's...

so by labeling my entire core of receivers, running game Defense and QB as being bad, it really just proved it wrong. Becasu that bad team beat GB twice last year with one being a huge Blow out.... Like i mentioned in my first argument rivalry games bring a whole new intensity, level of performance and tenacity to players, and games never go as planned.

Also, the Defense is changed...there are 3 more starters that will back in the line up...to bring it back to the SB contending team in defense that they hand in 2006...the 5th ranked defense with 2nd ranked in points allowed a game...
Also the bears picked up three new players to add to their defense this year...regardless of third round or latter what does that have to do with anything?

GB has a new QB that has never played a full game of NFL football, learning to throw is easy, actually taking it to the field is another thing...

In the first win against the Packers:

Brian Griese (no longer on the team) did well, Cedric Benson had 64 yds and a 2.7 ypc, and no WR caught more than 1 pass or 17 yards.

In the 2nd win against the Packers:

Kyle Orton threw for 101 yards, Peterson (the backup) ran for 102 yards and a 3.4 ypc, and no one caught more than 38 yards.

You put too much value in history and not enough value in the present. The Packers are a better team; there is no getting around that. Also, from my count, you only have two guys who missed a fair amount of time that will be returning (Nathan Vasher and Mike Brown). Both of those guys are in the backfield, though, so that still doesn't excuse your Run D. And I'll tell you right now, you need a near-miracle to jump all the way to 2nd ranked D.

GB may have a new QB, but the Bears are still stuck with the same quarterbacks, who are proven...to be incompetent as signal callers.

The Defense that you keep putting down was the same defense that held the team to only 7 points in Chicago...The same defense that stuffed GB final drive in GB last year...the same Defense that forced 4 INT's 6 forced fumbles which they lost 4 of...and a total of 27 points in 2 games...

Yes Greise is gone...but that was only his second game off teh bench when playing...its not like he even found a rhythm playing throughout the season...Orton did an even better job as you pointed out, so it looks tome that i would rather have Orton playing against them...

If i put alot of History then the past decade would be a great indication that the series would split...and not go in the bears favor...I simple put a lot into my team and there ability to play tough against the hated fudge packers...

Unexperienced QB, along with stiff Chicago Defense and Unpredictable weather, because both of these games will most likely be played in snow or below freezing temps...

the "proven qb's who took GB down last year will do the same thing this year...they will just have more help from their defense this time around with players coming of the IR...

In the entirety of last year, you held your opponents to less than 10 points just twice, the other time being against the Raiders. Heck, you held opponents to less than 20 points only 6 times, with two of those games still being losses. It seems to me that your winning over the Packers was more luck than anything else. You yourself don't seem to have any other explanation than that of the Bears "having their number".

Griese is gone, and he was your best QB last year, going by QB rating. Orton played in all of 3 games last year, so it confuses me to see how confident you can be in him, yet how disparaging you are of Aaron Rodgers.

"Unexperienced QB, along with stiff Chicago Defense and Unpredictable weather, because both of these games will most likely be played in snow or below freezing temps... "

Let's see...YOUR QB is inexperienced, the GB Defense is better (ranked 6th last year), the Packers if anything are better in bad weather...where is your advantage, exactly?

so i guess a NON GB fan will take this...ok

May 4, 2008  04:14 PM ET

You should have challenged a GB fan then.

May 4, 2008  04:15 PM ET

first sentence of the TD....

May 4, 2008  04:20 PM ET

Again, you should have just asked and challenged a GB fan.

May 4, 2008  04:25 PM ET

could have waited to see if one took it but you didnt. thanks for even trying to wait...

May 4, 2008  04:28 PM ET

It's your own fault for leaving the TD out there. It said "preferably", too, not "must be".

May 4, 2008  04:58 PM ET

Each take the home game.

May 4, 2008  05:33 PM ET

Right now vote to the right.

I will come back and change my vote if need be...

May 4, 2008  06:04 PM ET

Packers will win both. Bears have no QB Rex is a sissy.

May 4, 2008  06:12 PM ET

they didnt last year and still won...

May 4, 2008  08:03 PM ET

We kicked their **** last year. That was with our nobody QBs, bad running game, and certain old and overrated receivers.

Also, you should think for a moment. The reason our D was like that was because 1) our offense failed almost every single time, so the D had to remain on the field much longer than they should have; that inevitably leads to injuries, and 2) we lost a significant portion of our D to injuries early in the year. You can especially thank the Cowgirls for that. When the bulk of your starters on the D succumb to injuries early in the year, you know you're going to have problems.

With all members of the D returning, we should be back to full strength and ready to get back down to business.

May 4, 2008  09:09 PM ET

That was last year, do you have ESP? Can you tel the future? >>>

May 4, 2008  09:38 PM ET

I am kind f pissed off at LIFER, because whenever I do a Vikings TD, he votes against me on principle. It is just annoying.

May 4, 2008  09:58 PM ET

No, I don't. I speak out against how all of your TDs are on the Vikings, but I don't vote against you on them (only on the ones I actually disagree with you on).

Mr.FanMan misses football | 05/04/08, 09:09 PM

if that was the case everyone could argue every single TD out there that no one has ESP and that it is an INVALID td...so the ESP thing is ridiculous...i am simple trying to predict that the bears will beat GB in both games based off history, current events and what both teams bring to the table....

ESP....how lame...

May 5, 2008  12:10 AM ET

I don't see them taking both of the games this year and I definitely don't see them being a .500 team this season. The defense may have been injured but that was not their only problem. Plus the Urlacher situation needs to be fixed sooner rather than later.

May 5, 2008  02:03 AM ET

whats the Urlacher situation? He wants a new contract...big deal, he did the same thing last year...doesn't mean he wont play...

And that was a huge problem..there were at least 3 games that were given up in the last 5 min of games...which in return was the defense giving up...looks like a 10-6 record rather than a 7-9...so how do they have bigger problems?

May 5, 2008  02:05 AM ET

qb aw... qb ...they need a qb, whats the qb situation...qb this...qb that, yeah yeah yeah, looks like they have being doing it now for 3 years without a solid qb in the line up...31-17 in the past 3 years and all people do is complain about a qb...

I do. The cheeseheads have a QB who is quite inexperienced, and we will not be putting the same anemic offense on the field this year. Expect the blocking to be much better, the running to be improved greatly, and less time on the field for the defense.

Aaron Rodgers will outplay any Bears QB by FAR next season. Bears will be lucky to get a split.
