Brian Westbrook

Gee Ya think? What gave you that idea, the last three or four seasons, where he pretty much caught ran a 1000 and caught a bunch too.

Most people would take this and say this isn't arguable. HOWEVER, I will argue against it.

Brian Westbrook will not have the best season, I am going to say Brandon Jacobs will. For one tiny simple reason. Brian Westbrook hasn't really been injured significantly, the life span of a RB is what 3 years supposedly, well he has been doing his thing for 5 years and missed a total of 5 games, chances are he is going down with an injury this season, especially when you add up how much Philly uses him. He is like their only weapon and he cannot keep going without getting injured.

The only arguments against is Jacobs and Portis (and he is injured alot too), because Barber is now going to be splitting time with Jones.

First of all if you agree, than dont take it. Yes this TD may seem obvious, but someone may disagree, and anyways, I am doing TDs about who will have the best statistical in the NFC East. this TD is part of that. So are you going to complain or argue??? And thanks for listing.

Brandon Jacobs will not have better numbers than Westbrook. You say that westbrook is due for an injury, but then you pick Brandon Jacobs. He is such a physical ruunner he is an injury risk anytime he takes a carry. Jacobs also will split time with Ahmad Bradshaw. Westbrook is also way better out of the backfiled than Jacobs which gives him another advantage.

Look Westbrook has been money in Philly. Most of the other teams in the East are splitting carries, so pretty much I think any realistic person would say you are factually correct.

However, given the time frame that RB's have to stay healthy Westbrook is STATISTICALLY on the down side of his career. DMAC is back and will run for some of those yards and take away yardage.

You cannot make a decent argument for Portis, he is hurt to much, and Betts gets carries too.

You cannot make a decent argument for Barber, because he will for sure be splitting with Jones (Felix not Orange Julius)

Therefore I am left to take Jacobs, he won't split as much this season. He is growing before our eyes and is confident now that they won a SB. They had a good running game last year, this year things will solidify and gel.

In both of your arguements you have complained about this TD. If you dislike it so much, you shouldnt of taken it.

Jacobs will not have the best year. He splits time with a rapidly improving Ahmad Bradshaw who is just as good as Jacobs is anyway.

The Giants also will pass more this year now that Eli has became more effective. Jacobs is not a logical pick.

voting left...right has ignored the whole premise of the td

huh gonets...huh

May 7, 2008  06:03 PM ET

its not about last season...MANY RB can come through this season and out perform westbrook...not to mention phillys O-Line will be healthy again so look for more passing instead of running....

May 7, 2008  06:03 PM ET

but in some ways you did just sit there and complain about how he chose westbrook....

May 7, 2008  06:06 PM ET

You didn't specify what time frame. I'll go with Emmitt Smith.

Vote to Folk for having an original idea and at least putting up an argument. Also, this is not a prediction TD. So saying Jacobs will do better gives you no leg to stand upon.

What does "caught ran" mean?

As Nick says, Prodigy mentions Westbrook as injury prone, yet he choses Jacobs, who was injured few times last year.

May 7, 2008  06:24 PM ET

I dont think either of those two players will get it. I would go with Marion Barber. But if i had to chose id say vote to the left.

May 7, 2008  06:45 PM ET

Barber over Westbrook for the best statistical year? hahahaha dream on.

May 7, 2008  07:02 PM ET

And I think Bradshaw might do better than Jacobs in NY, so if you want to have a single RB system, you'd go with Portis. But then, his low YPR hurts him.
