My pick: Justin Tuck.
I believe Justin will have the best season because he will be playing along side Osi Umenyora and MIchael Strahan. (If he still plays.) Last year Tuck only played in pass rushing situations, and he still had ten sacks. I think the Giants will play him more this year as well, not just in passing situations.
Michael Strahan could also retire which would make Tuck the full time DE> His stats would automatically go up, because he would now be playing full time. Tuck would still face lots of one on one matchups due to Umenyora playing on the other side.
Do not pick DeMarcus Ware: he is an OLB.

My pick: Osi Umenyiora
I believe Osi will have the best sack season for the New York Giants and the NFC East. Coming back from a 13 sack season, Umenyiora is poised and ready to go.
Just because Strahan is retiring, does not mean Tuck's stats will go up. You have to play for your stats.
By the way, Osi Umenyiora had 6 sacks against the Philly Eagles last year. A Giants all time record.
Umeniyora has not even reached his peak, yet he has 2 double digit sack seasons in his 5 year career. Osi would face many matchups against single players, which he is very good at. He also has more experience than Tuck, which will help him.
Umenyiora will have Tuck playing with him, which you said. That has nothing to do which anything. Getting sacks is mostly individual work.
I will say the rest next argument.

Osi had 7 sacks in one game. Yes, that is amazing, but if you dont count that game, Osi only has 6. He will be double teamed all the time and will not have as many one on one oppurtunities that he had last year due to Strahan likely retirement.
Umeyiora is a speed rusher more than anything else. He will face a double team every time and will not be able to overpower his blockers. Tuck will most likely play full time when strahan retires which will greatly increase his sack oppurtunites. Tuck only had three less than Umenyiora did and played not nearly as much.
I can not emphaisize enouugh the Umenyiora double teams. Teams will play the Giants and part of their game plans will be make sure Osi doesnt have any sacks. Teams will be so focused on Osi and Tuck will fly under the radar and put up great numbers.

Tuck won't have oppurtunities either. Tuck will double teamed also due to his 10 sack season last year.
"He will face a double team every time and will not be able to overpower his blockers." No he won't . If he does, Tuck will to. You said in your 2nd argument and 1st argument that Tuck will play full time. You get sacks when you play well. It doesn't just come to you.
Teams tried to stop Osi last season. And as you can tell, it did not work, especially for the Philly eagles during Osi's 6 sack game.
You stated,"Teams will be so focused on Osi and Tuck will fly under the radar and put up great numbers."
Other teams watched Tuck play last year, the same with Umenyiora. They won't just double team Osi. Tuck also.
By the way, did you notice your whole argument is about double teaming.
Sometimes, even a double team can't stop a great sack artist like Osi.

My gut tells me Straham will retire, but nevertheless, Osi will have more sacks than Tuck this season

Cole might have a shot. But that depends upon how the DT's on his line and whomever is on the other end. He was slowed down by less than stellar production by his linemates. Maybe Laws and Clemons will help as well.
You really can't enter in any Cowboys for this because they play in the 34 defense which means the OLB's will get many more sacks than the DE's.

If Strahan goes that will impact both Osi and Tuck. But Spags should find some creative ways to get them sacks.

It wasn't a fluke. More like an embarrassing night for Winston "Six Pack" Justice. But even all those sacks didn't come off of Justice. He came up the middle too. Osi was on fire that night. It happens that way. Sometimes you have a career night against one team and then it dries up. Especially if you get double teamed.

I know it doesn't matter for this but we all know the great DeMarcus Ware will lead the division in sacks.
