This is my first throwdown.
Okay, I love the Pistons, but Orlando has the firepower to keep this series going for at least six games. Detroit is up 2-0 right now and many people are saying that this will be an easy series for the Pistons but they are far from right.
The Detroit Pistons had two games at home, now they are going back on the road. Road playoff games - never good. Besides, the Pistons barely won at home. They got lucky with a 3-pointer that should not have counted as it was after the clock expired. I doubt that they will get that lucky again.
Chauncy Billups and Rip Hamliton have been struggling, pretty much only scoring points from the foul line and shooting for low percentages. They are the Pistons' two star players, they need those players to take the series in five games or less.
Now back to Orlando. Dwight Howard is just tooo strong, too intimidating, too talented - and the bottom line - too good. Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis, two good 3-point shooters are still around.
Many people predict that the Pistons will take this series easily but that is not true. The Orlando Magic will take this series to six games (at least).

Even with the 3 pointer NOT counting they still won the game...and that play had no effect on the out come of the game...take the 3 points away and you have a Pistons team still winning the game...
Winning the game is just that....it doesn't matter if it is by 1 point in triple over time or a blow like the Celtics did to Atlanta...you can go back and say "well they played a close game"....2-0 pistons.
Chauncy / Rip haven't been playing well...your right, but look at the series..the Pistons are still up 2-0 with key scorers for Detroit struggling...so that just goes to show you how bad Orlando has been struggling as well...they can't capitalize when Detriot isn't playing well....not to mention what do you think will happen when Rip and Chauncy snap out of their funk and actually start shooting better?
Dwight Howard. Great player...obviously not intimidating enough or too strong becasue his presence would have been bigger in the first two games...If he didn't get to Detroit in those what makes you think he will in the next?
At least 6 huh? Det. has been struggling in playing ball, but they are still winning, and im seeing them stealing one in Orlando and finishing out in Detroit

If the 3-Pointer didn't count, who knows how things would have ended up in those last 12 minutes.
Both teams are struggling so you can't say that the Pistons will likely play to their talent for the next few games. I could say that about Orlando too. Anyways, Detroit played pretty good that game, 100 points in the playoffs is good, but Orlando will find their groove soon.
Homecourt advantage is almost like having a five point lead to start the game. The Fans are cheering for you, no heckling and it is much easier to shoot free throws, something that Orlando had trouble with in the game before.
The Orlando Magic are feeding off of their home crowd's energy right now, winning the game 35-22. I can see them doing this in their next home game as well. Billups only has two points so far.
Orlando has home court advantage, that is very valuable in the playoffs and I can see them winning at least two. The 76ers did, why can't an even more talented Orlando Magic do it?

WHAT????
it would have played out the same way....regardless THE 4TH QUARTER WAS PLAYED OUT!!! and we all saw how it played out!!
In fact DETROIT would have gotten the ball to start with in the 4th quarter...instead of Orlando who scored on the opening possession of the 4th....
Home court advantage to the HAWKS is like having a 5 point lead...L.A. won all on the road...the Jazz (the best team at home) lost both games there....Houston didn't win a single game either...and the Suns lost their series AT HOME...so in most of the Playoff games besides Atlanta home court has really not effected much...
Nothing like doing a TD while the Game is going on and using it for leverage....good job rook, you predicted something and argued it while it happens...hats off to you...not like anyone could have done this...
Your last argument said why cant the magic do it....thats the same as saying the Hakws took the Celtics to a 7 game series...anyone who DOESN'T do that in the rest of the playoffs is worse...
Detroit Steel said 05/08, 04:01 PM
You only named a few teams there, Philadelphia won a game at home, homecourt advantage helped Cleveland, Phoenix won their only game at home, Orlando played well at home . . .
The 3-pointer would have changed the game. At the end of the game, Orlando was in a small hole and they started lobbing up shots from behind the ark and see if they go in. If Orlando had the lead then, Orlando would have probably would have won.
All I said was that Orlando was winning the game and they won it, why are you all mad? If Detroit was winning, I could have probably imagined you saying that to help your own cause.
I don't really get that last paragraph but Orlando has all of the talent to win one more game. Homecourt advantage clearly helped them in the 4th quarter last night and that is where games are won.
Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Hedo Turkoglu . . .
Orlando has a big advantage in this upcoming game, they are at home and it doesn't look like Chauncy Billups is going to find his groove. He got injured and will likely miss Game 4, that is not going to help the Pistons at all.

I think they'll be like the Hawks...feed off home crowd and win home games, but no chance in Detroit.
