Kobe Bryant is performing the best among active playoff performers in the 07-08 playoffs......

Kobe Bryant is averaging 34.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 6.3apg, 1.3spg, 1.0bpg while shooting 51.5% from the field, 35.3% on 3's and 82% on FT's......

In doing so, the Lakers are 6-0 and look unbeatable.......

I think we all know who I will go with..CP3

I will start with the numbers but it only begins their. 24.3 PPG, 12.1 APG, 2.1 SPG, 4.9 RPG, 50% from the field. Now I come to my favorite and most ridiculous stat. CP3 has averaged 1.29 Turnovers per game in 41 minutes, while basically touching the ball the entire time the Hornets have it. Kobe while playing SG in 39 minutes has 3.17 TOPG. Statistically with the assists, Paul is contributing slightly more points per night while turning it over less, with the ball more. Confusing but true. The boards are pretty close especially when you consider the size difference and Paul has more steals by a good amount.

Here is the thing, I feel I have you for sure on stats. Yet Paul has faced the last 2 teams to make the finals for the West. Kobe faced the Nuggets, who play no D and gave up on their team by all accounts. Then the Jazz, who by the way are horrible on the road (17-24). Kobe has faced no real test since they haven't gone to Utah yet.

Paul has had the tougher schedule and didn't have the luxury of a heist(Gasol) to help him make this run. Paul has also had the more impressive numbers. 1.29 TOPG by a point guard, WOW!!!

Well a PG shouldnt turn the ball over much and Kobe isnt a PG but he does handle the ball more than anybody else on the team.......He is however the MVP.......

You can knock the teams the Lakers have played all you want but face it.......The Hornets have faced 2 very old and possibly DONE teams.......

The Lakers will be a true test for these young Hornets.......Because the Hornets and Lakers are 2 of the younger teams in the NBA.......But the Lakers have CHAMPIONSHIP experience on their side.......And after facing 2 old teams they very well might meet their match in the powerful Lakers who are a much deeper team.......

Back to the TD, Kobe has to be the answer after a great regular season and you have to take into account the summer leading up to it.......This team could have detonated but they didnt.......

Perhaps because while it took a while, Kobe has finally turned into a true leader despite how unorthodox it might be????

Yes

Stat wise and winning games, the Lakers and Kobe are the more impressive team........

Point Guards shouldn't turn the ball over, yet Tony Parker and Deron Williams (2 of the best) were top 10 in the NBA this year. 1.29 TOPG is great for anyone much less the point guard.......He is the MVP (bogus), but what does that have to do with this TD. NOTHING.

The Spurs did not look done when the killed the Suns. They ran into a buzz saw named Chris Paul. That is it.

Again, the Lakers being a match for the Hornets has nothing to do with this TD

The regular season and the summer leading up, which by the way was Kobe's fault and no one elses, has nothing to do with this TD.

Paul is already a great and true leader at 22. No one had to convince him to be like Kobe.

I have grown confused as to how you are winning and if you even know what this TD (that you selected is about). You barely countered my arguements and kept mentioning stuff that had nothing to do with the postseason, which is what this is about.

Paul put up a great stretch to this point and it has been better than Kobe's. The numbers don't lie. The Lakers first test against a team worth a crap is when they play the Jazz at home. A team that went 17 and 24 on the road is not a test.

Ok.......Fine, complain and moan all you want about how you are losing.......

PG's should account for most of their team's offense.......They run the freakin show......Handling the ball and such.......

Kobe is a SG, yet he accounts for 46.9ppg to Paul's 46.5ppg

Kobe is shooting better on FG's, 3%, FT's......Only stat CP has him is apg to and spg.......In addition Kobe has more blocks........

I am not so much for complaining as I am confused, why you keep getting off subject trying to find ways to win rather than argue the facts of what we are supposed to be discussing.

Let me fix your math real quick, Paul 48.4 Kobe 46.9. So yes Paul has him, but since when is a point guard supposed to account for 48.4 points. A point guard runs the offense and in most cases is a good passer and scorer or great passer and scorer but never both like Paul. A great player is a great player, PG' s don't account for any more points then any other great player, they just run the offense and have the ball more than anyone. Chris Paul has a 9.44 to 1 TO to Assist ratio. Have you ever heard of that in your life?? Lets put that in perspective....the league leader was 5.38 to 1 in the regular season.

Look the fact is Chris Paul has been lights out and you are a homer too blind to see anything but your precious Kobe.

God luck Nick

I love Tding against Kobe or the Lakers, you start out 10 to nothing against all the homers, who don't even read the arguements.

I would have to say that Dwight Howard has been amazing.....i mean multiple 20 and 20 games.....the man is a beast

Goodell: Friggin Sweet | 05/08/08, 05:50 PM

I know him as CP3's B*%tch right now, a good series against the no defense Steve Nash is not enough for me. Their should be a stat curve when you play the Nuggets or Suns.

Kobe has been great but so has Chris Paul. going with kobe because i hate him right now playing the jazz

Report Offensive Comment

Kobe it is.

Paul and his Hornets have faced far superior competition and have the defending champs on the ropes...

I'd say that based on his singlehanded (for the most part) destruction of the Mavs with a significantly less talented squad and his continued domination of the Spurs, Paul is the one clearly having the better run of it.

Bryanht shouldn't have that MVP trophy. It was a smypathy vote and nothing more that won it.

Wow, Skybill

hey nickb23 i did read the arguments

If Kobe didnt get it this year it would have a tragedy because his team could have gone under the bus after the offseason they had........But they didnt

And who exact;y did the Hornets beat???

An aging Suns team and the series with Spurs is hardly over.......But even if Hornets do win, Spurs are also an aging team.......

Hornets true test will be the Lakers who younger than both the teams NO has played

And has championship experience in Kobe, Hasol (olympics) and Fisher.........Plus the Lakers are deeper than NO
