Seattle businessmen have had plenty of time to keep their team. They failed to step up. Now they're whining about the Key Arena lease. Starbucks & Howard Schultz destroyed a great NBA team.
They traded off Lewis - Allen - lost Nate McMillan to Portland for more money. They were long overdue after Grorge Karl left and McMillan had success. But they have not been a contender since

Sonics and Grizzlies should not make this list.

The Sonics are now in a position to rebuild and have an unbelievable team. I've read that over the next 3 years, they have 6 first round picks and 7 2nd rounders. They also have a ton of cap space, with only $34 mil committed through 2009.

The Grizzlies now have pretty good trading chips (Kyle Lowry, Javaris Crittenton), a big expiring contract (Kwame Brown), received a first round pick, and are now in a pretty good position to build around Rudy Gay, which they wanted to do.

No, i disgree. The Grizz should be on here. They gave up Pau Gasol who took the Grizz to the playoffs single handly a few times. He was an all star big which is a rare commodity in the NBA. They got Kwame Brown "the biggest underachiever in major sports". He gets booed in his own home arenas, happened in LA and in DC. He sucks.

I wouldnt even trade my own crap in the toilet to pick up Kwame. Big cry baby. They can build around Rudy but they could have gotten more. Maybe a Ben Wallace and Tyrus Thomas or Lual Deng for him. But no they get Kwame for Pau, this cant even be argued.
