I believe that the Diamondbacks have the best offense (of the two)...

The Diamondbacks lead MLB in total runs scored (204), slugging percentage (.459), runs scored per game (5.5), RBI (194), triples (15), and are second in OPS.

The Phillies only lead MLB in one category: Home Runs (52), and are behind the Diamondbacks in almost every offensive category.

As a team, the Phils are batting .254 to the Diamondbacks, who are batting .271. That points (obviously) to poor hitting by the Phillies, and you can take a brief glance and realize the reasons why....

Ryan Howard: .172 BA, 7 HRs, 18 RBI and has played in every game.

Not to mention the fact that Shane Victorino is struggling right now...

The Diamondbacks offense is very well matched with the Phillies. They have a power hitter who isn't a high average guy (Chris Young), they've got two guys coming into their own (Upton and Jackson), and have several guys that will give you solid games on a day by day basis (Drew, Snyder)

The Diamondbacks just score more runs, and that's what it comes down to in baseball, you don't score runs, you don't have an offense....

Well, I'm stuck with the Phils...

The Phillies have been without reigning NL MVP Jimmy Rollins for 24 games this season!

He's the driving machine of this offense. Get this, when he came back from the DL on May 9th, the Phillies scored 7 runs and he went 3-5!

He was only a triple away from a cycle! It's obvious that the Phillies offense hasn't been at the top of it's game without Rollins, but, with him, they get power, speed and more runs. Like you said, the Phils lead the majors in homers, but in all the other categories, here is how they stack up:

Runs: 184 (4th) [By the way, the Diamondbacks have been pushed back into 2nd]

Total Bases: 566 (3rd) [Only 4 behind the 2nd place D-Backs]

The Phillies are only 10 hits behind the D-Backs and only 1 walk. They are also only 8 doubles behind the D-Backs.

The D-Backs are the 3rd-worst team in baseball in strikeouts.

The basis of my argument is, that since Rollins is back, the Phillies will easily take over many offensive categories.

This is tough, I'll wait for more arguments

If a team leads the league in runs scored shouldn't they lead in runs scored per game.
