I made a blog about this earlier, so Nyfan! said I should make a td out of it. First argument just list the 5 conferences in order (i.e. 1st being toughest), and the second argument explain each pick and with the last argument tell why the opponent's picks are wrong. Here are my five conferences:
5. ACC (Men's Basketball)
4. AFC East (NFL)
3. SEC East (NCAAF)*
2. Pacific Conference(NBA)
1. AL East (MLB)
*= if you pick a conference in college football that has a division, please pick one division from that conference like my pick.

ACC- This conference is tough because each year it comes down to either North Carolina or Duke for the title. To some this may look as if this proves the teams in the ACC are poor, but usually there are 5-6 teams that could have easily won a conference if they were in a different conference.
AFC East- This conference is tough to win for everyone in it EXCEPT the New England Patriots. The Pats have won every division title in the 21th Century except for one.
SEC East- Hands down the toughest conference in football, it was tough for me to pick either the West of the East. I chose the East because it's easily dominated by Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida, leaving the other three teams behind wondering how they can compete for the conference title.
I won't argue the other two because we agreed on both.

Big East-The big east is the best collage basketball confenence.Last season 6 teams from the conference were in the top 25 and it was a thrill to watch down the strech.Last year 9 teams from the confence had over 20 wins and playing there hearts out to reach the NCAA tournament including Pittsburgh,Villanova,West Virginia,Marquette,Connecticut, Louisville, Notre Dame, and Georgetown. Its by far the best confernce in collage basketball.
AFC South-Instead of having only one team compete for the title the South had four. The worst team in the division was the Houston Texans who went 8-8 last year and beat many good teams. Also the Colts, Jags, and Titans all won over 10 games which makes this the toughest divison in football to win.
Big 10-With four teams in the top 25 its the best in all of football.Ohio State got to the championship for the last two years and there is normally five or six teams fighting for the conference crown including Penn State, Michigan,Ohio State,Michigan State,Wisconson,Iowa and Illinois all good programs with a ton of history making it the best conference in collage football
JDawg1447(Gone to UGA/CM Game) said 05/18, 06:53 PM
First off, with the Big 10, the only good teams are Michigan and Ohio State. The others are 6-6 or 7-5 most years, but Penn State and Wisconsin are on good runs. With the AFC South, they are good, probably the 2nd toughest division to win behind the AFC East. I have the East being a little bit tougher because the Patriots are on such a dominate streak in the East that it doesn't look like it will end any time soon. On the big east basketball, they may be the best "confernce" in basketball, but the ACC is the best "conference" in NCAA basketball(sorry, just had to say that!). I agree that the big east is tough, but really no team has a definite strangle hold on the others in the sense of winning the title every year. I made a mistake in the title of the td not putting "toughest divisions to win". Sorry about that

"The others are 6-6 or 7-5 most years"-Normally Iowa is a good team and Penn State is fighting for the crown so how could you say that.Last year five teams had a record of 9-4 so its always competive and really tough to win. Also in the SEC East there are some real bad teams including Vandy and SC,so out of 6 teams two of them finished under .500 meaning that only 1/3 of there teams suck but in the Big 10 only 1 team finished under .500 meaning only 1/1-th of there teams stink. The Big Tens tougher to win and is the best confernce in collage football
So the Colts arent a dominate team?Last I checked they won a super bowl in the last two years so dont say its not tough to win. Also all of the teams in the divison are good making it a lot tougher to win.In the East theres the Jets,Bills,Dolphins, and Pats which makes it easier to win, beat the Pats and your the best while in the South you have to outplay three other good football teams making a divison crown a whole lot tougher.
The big east is way more tougher.Hate to break it to ya but Duke hasent made it two the elite eight in quite some time.In the Big East theres so many good teams its a uphill battle making it way tougher

I made a typo on the title: it should have been "toughest divisions/conferences in all sports to win"

I've mistaken TD title for "most competitive division" as opposed to "toughest division to win". My bad JHill.

Report Offensive CommentWhen the TD said "toughest" in the title, I thought it meant which division had the best teams overall as a collective group.

Then it obviously isn't a tough conference if there is only 1 clear choice without hesitation, correct?

Ny - Ready For Change | 05/18/08, 07:07 PM
Report Offensive CommentYeah, but Colts always win the South. NFC East is also very strong, and just because you win in the regular season, that doesn't mean you do better in playoffs, as Giants showed.

How did the rest of the SEC fair against the Big Ten?
Florida got embarrassed by Michigan.
Wisconsin vs. Tenessee was a great game.
i think that was all. I don't think you can just look at the top teams and say that the top team is better than the other you have to look at the conference as a whole.
