My differences:
AL:
1B- Kevin Youklis
Pena: 9 HRs, 23 RBIs, .214 AVG, .403 SLG%
Youk: 9 HRs, 33 RBIs, .321 AVG, .586 SLG%
Youklis leads all AL 1B in HRs, RBIs, AVG, OBP, and SLG%. While Pena has hit just as many HRs, he doesn't match up nearly as well in pretty much all the other categories. Add in the fact that Youk is one of the best fielding 1B in the league, and I think it's pretty clear who's got the advantage.
LF- Manny Ramirez
Ibanez: .351 OBP, .509 SLG%
Manny: .384 OBP, .537 SLG%
The 2 major parameters of how good a hitter, OBP, and SLG, indicate that Manny's the FAR better player.
CP- Mariano Rivera
Mo has been lights out this year. Yeah, K-Rod has more saves, but Rivera's easily been the better pitcher this year. On the season, Rivera's allowed just 1 earned run, has a .53 WHIP, and is yet to blow a save.
NL:
LF- Pat Burrell
Burrell's having an incredible year so far. He has more HRs and RBIs, and has a higher OBP, and SLG% than Matt Holliday. Is Holliday the more talented player? Yes. But if I had to make an all star team based on what's happened so far this season, I take Pat Burrell.

for Manny and Ibanez yiu just brought up the stats hes beating him in, otherwise, ibanez has the edge. Holliday leads NL in avg. thats what i like to see in a hitter, someone who can get hits, and drive in runs.

Holliday isn't even close to leading the NL in average...
You say you value RBIs, yet Burrell actually has more RBIs than Holliday thus far.
Manny's also leading Ibanez in several stats I DIDN'T mention. Manny leads Ibanez in HRs, as well as AVG. The only statistical advantage that Ibanez has is in RBIs, and the reason Manny's losing in that category is in large part due to the fact that Ortiz had been slumping for a large portion of the season.
I still don't understand how Pena's performance this year could be considered better. Kevin Youklis leads him in virtually all categories, and is considered one of the best fielding first baseman in the entire league.
Ditto for Mariano Rivera, who has been HUGE for the Yankees coming out of the bullpen.

I said holliday is leading for left fielders. Holliday beats burrel in ab's by 22, 3 more runs, 11 more hits, triples, burrel beats him in hr's rbis and obp thats it, Holiday is the better choice.
Basketball Jesus: CHAMPION! said 05/19, 06:31 PM
You actually didn't say Holliday is leading among left fielders.
Regardless, Burrell leads all NL LFs in OPS, OBP, and BB. As for ABs, the reason Holliday leads in that category is due to the fact he hasn't drawn nearly as many walks.
AGAIN, you didn't address my choice of Youklis over Pena, and Rivera over K-Rod.
Just to reiterate, Youklis hasn't committed an error at 1B all year long, and leads Pena in virtually all offensive categories. Rivera has a lower ERA and WHIP than K-Rod, who has been having an outstanding year. Rivera has simply been even better.

Not a lot of difference,
OBP is what I would look to. Can't score runs if you don't get on base.
The SLG% doesn't mean that much to me. Total bases divided by ABs is not a real clear indicator of a players ability. It's an average and not a true percentage.
But I would much rather have Youklis and his 3.2 hits per 10 ABs than Pena' and his 2.1
Leaning to the right, but as shown - Manny's not "BY FAR" the better LFer
