Mike Tyson will get crushed by Kinbo Slice.

Are you kidding? Tyson turned into a marginal boxer when pushed beyond 4 rounds. He is older, hasn't fought in forever, and is not 1/4th the Animal that Kimbo Slice is. Combined, they have the personality of your average garden slug, but unless Tyson is going to get paid a lot of cash up front, there is just no way he survives more than 2 minutes with Kimbo. Um, unless they allow biting. Ahhhh, even still, Kimbo will kill him.

Kimbo has NEVER been past 4 round in his life...let alone 4 or 5 min s of fighting in the streets he is absolutely winded!! Tyson right there has the advantage...

Kimbo goes by street rules of fighting...not organized boxing rules...even when you see him on the street fights he is so sloppy... when it comes to the skill of boxing Kimbo doesn't hold half the skills necessary in a boxing match to "crush" tyson

Kimbo is a big dude that can punish people in a street fight...everyone can agree on that...what he cant do is beat a good opponent...even when he fought that ex Boston cop he got worked...and that dude was a nobody in MMA...and got WORKED in an actual MMA fight against a good opponent

Because Tyson is older now and maybe not in as good as shape as he was...do you think he completely forgot how to box? do you really think his power in his punches just vanished? This guy is a monster..literally! And as far as him not going past 4 rounds...he has had multiple fights go past 4 rounds with him winning...

i don't think Tyson would get "crushed" by Kimbo...not sure if he would Knock him out, but it wouldn't be a 2 sec romping of Iron Mike....

Kimbo is SKILLED at virtually all kinds of fighting. Tyson can only box. Kimbo can kick, stomp and wrestle. Tyson only knows boxing.
Kimbo can use his elbows, choke a guy down. Tyson has been trained only to use his hands.
IF this match were 20 years ago when Tyson was in his prime, THEN and only THEN would Tyson have a remote chance. His hands have slowed down over the years...witness his last three fights. He is slow and he is old.
Kimbo is IN his prime now. He is an absolute animal. I am so sure Kimbo would utterly destroy Tyson that this is not even close.
Kimbo's best challenge might be Brock Lesner, but I am not even sure Lesner wins against this beast.
Tyson would take the money, a fantom punch and then get out of there as fast as he could, if he were smart. I have the feeling that if they decide to go at it, that this will be exactly the case.

Well i guess you u haven't seen Kimbo fight...he isn't skilled...he had Knock out by punches for both his win in MMA and when he is on the streets his skills are shown VERY poorly when he fights...

i don't consider being 34 in your prime...the dude cant even last 4 minutes without hacking up a lung. he has no conditioning what so ever...his "skills" for mma you say he has are very weak...no ground game, no ju jit su, or any kind of take down defense...Kimbo went to the ground on his first MMA fight and had NO CLUE what to do...lucky for him his opponent rolled right into a geateen (<---sp>

Now im not saying Tyson is a beast at this MMA game, i think too many people haven too much credit to Kimbo already...he has fought scrub opponents and has little skills when it comes to both boxing and MMA...

And getting paid lost of money has little to do with him getting crushed my Kimbo...Tyson has fought WAY worse opponents than slice for way more money...and i don't remember him taking a fall in any of those fights..

The problem is that Tyson showed nothing in his last three matches against McBride, Corey Sanders and Danny Williams.
Tyson is 42 years old for crying outloud. He hasn't put on a fight in two years much less win anything since 2001. And even then he was unimpressive. (Brian Neilsen was the unimpressive fighter)
You actually make my point beautifully, in saying that Kimbo doesn't have any particular training or style. How on EARTH does Tyson train for that?
Answer: He cannot.
Slice is a Freak, and he will simply shred the 42 year old has-been of Tyson from limb-to-limb. And Tyson has no Juditsu, ground game or anything besides his hands. Slice has the edge in sheer brutality and speed. Tyson is much smaller, much older, hasn't had a meaningful fight in eight years, and simply has no other skills to compliment his once stoic and powerful hands.
You put any pure boxer in the ring with a Martial Arts or Ultimate Fighter and I don't see how anyone can really believe the boxer has a chance. He has but one weapon.
To any careful consideration of the match, anyone with practical knowledge sees this as a One-Way fight...with Kimbo Slice emerging victorious!!!

Why do you think stand up fighters dont take the match to the ground? becasue they are weak at it...and there are MANY of them with that type of game that are successful...chuck lidell, rampage jackson, forest griffith, jens pulver, BJ Penn(only becasue his take down defense is great!) i mean there ar so many fighters that dont even think about takign to the ground game...and Kimbo has NO GROUND game...it would be a roll around on the ground be tween teh two....NOT TO MENTINO kimbo has lost over 45 lbs within his time in MMA...his strength has gone down, never had and never will have stamina and has little to any knowldge of MMA...yes he trains with it, but in EVERY fight the guy just bum rushes his opponent and tries horrible to punish him...
You give too much credit to a MMA fighter with NO SKILLS at all...heck i could trainin in MMA and im 25...im pretty sure iron mike would still knock me out, but hey im an MMA fighter..of course teh favor has to go to me...what a joke

Slice has no skills of MMA, no boxing skills that compeare to tyson, and just rolls around on the ground if it gets there...not to mentino his weight loss and NO stamina...he would 'crush" tyson....at all....

What does getting paid a lot of money up front have to do with who wins?

May 19, 2008  01:20 AM ET

Yeah...CCC- I don't get that either.

May 19, 2008  02:05 AM ET

I don't think Kimbo would ever lay a hand on Tyson. This is coming from a guy who thinks Tyson is the most overrated boxer, maybe athlete, of all time. Kimbo is just a name and a personality that people want to promote. Even with Tyson being nothing more than a **** head as of late could still out box Kimbo.

Was this fight made? Why is this being brought up? Would it be in MMA format or Boxing. I would be surprised if Kimbo could even get a boxing license to fight Tyson. States boxing commissions don't just let anybody go in and fight.

Tyson's Documentary was a huge hit over the weekend at Cannes film festival. It is due to hit America in the fall.

Yeah...Bucky...I have not heard of anything about this...Whats up TDers...enlighten us.
Having said that, it is not easy to lay a glove on a pro boxer. Even retired ones.

there are talks that if kimbo wins his mma fight, that they would try to get tyson to fight him. it really would just be about putting names in the ring. no real mma talent from either. elite xc is doing everything they can to milk the growing popularity of mma.. they are not even trying to put together quality fights.. just names that people will watch

thats the link about the story of the fight...

the only way tyson would win is if they keep him off his meds...but then he would wind up in jail..its a catch 22 with mike

May 19, 2008  10:04 AM ET

Kimbo is a hack....couldn't cut it against true MMA'ers so he would take on Tyson instead...but what happens to Slice if this fight happens and Tyson knocks him the "F" out???

May 19, 2008  10:06 AM ET

Rob, Lesnar would absolutely destroy slice.. he is faster, stronger, and actually has wrestling skills.

May 19, 2008  10:09 AM ET

if kimbo had any real mma skill other than hand fighting i would say hed kill tyson, for example liddell would kill tyson in an mma fight, but do it wba rules and tyson destroys liddell, that being said all kimbo really does is box so ill take tyson to knock him out first punch thrown

May 19, 2008  10:21 AM ET

It really depends on what kind of fight this is. Is it going to be a boxing match? Is it going to be MMA? If it is indeed MMA, as this sounds, he will pummel Tyson. Tyson isn't Tyson anymore, and its downright comical to think he could get into a ring and compete with Kimbo.

And don't get me wrong....Kimbo isn't that good. He's over-hyped, and he's getting the spotlight after putting in little work and drawing off his internet sensation. Otherwise - he'd kill Tyson.

May 19, 2008  11:12 AM ET

Liddel could beat Tyson today but not a prime Tyson. Liddel was primary a striker but Tyson is a better one. Liddel doesn't have the defensive skills to take 60-80 punches a round. Rampage put him down with a looping punch that would never land against a boxer.

Even today I think Tyson would take Kimbo. Sorry guys but this guy is a joke. Street fighting is nothing like Boxing. You don't just step in the ring against a guy who used to contend for titles.

May 19, 2008  12:57 PM ET

Tyson has no reason to get into a ring other than to get paid. There is no way in hell that Tyson can provide any type of competition for Kimbo. Is Mike like Rocky Balboa or something? Mike is done. No way he can beat Kimbo in the octagon in the ring in an alley or anywhere else for that matter. How can I say this so confidently. I put it on raw agression. Mike just doesn't have it anymore. And if something does snap in Mike's head while he's fighting something bad and stupid will happen. Kimbo would have just too much to prove and unless Mike can catch him with a lucky punch Kimbo is walking out with a W. It could be a knockout or a choke out, all I'm saying is as a fighter Mike Tyson is done.

May 19, 2008  01:42 PM ET

Sorry Twiz but in a Ring stands no chance. Its not just punching when it comes to boxing. Footwork is more important. Kimbo does not have the first clue how to close in on a fighter and bounce back out. That was Tyson's best attribute as a fighter and I think he could be good enough to fight this nothing more than a name Kimbo. In an octagon Kimbo has a better chance but lets remember that Kimbo is a striker not a submission fighter. Kimbo is not good people. He is not a trained fighter and could not beat anyone worth their weight in salt in the ring.

May 19, 2008  01:57 PM ET

You're forgetting he tapped Ray Mercer. And come on now Mike Tyson is just not the same. I know boxing is this art form and you can win without throwing a punch but his nickname was "Iron" Mike Tyson not "Dancing" Mike Tyson or "Twinkle Toes" Tyson. He was a man child beast of a fighter that unfortunately lost his way. Don't get me wrong I still feel young Mike was an impressive phenomenon and being the youngest Heavyweight Champ of all time should hold some weight in the Boxing ring. The fact is Mike is past his prime. I would reckon Mike is so out of shape and has so much ring rust that Kimbo could even beat Mike in a boxing match. Kimbo is hungrier and in better shape at this point. He has too much to lose to let an over the hill one dimensional fighter take his shine. Mike may go the distance but loses on all cards in a 10 round exhibition. In an MMA fight Kimbo wins as well.

May 19, 2008  04:25 PM ET

Kimbo, would get winded after 2 rounds. And Mike Tyson in a street fight? Are you serious? The guy headbutts and bites IN THE RING. I could only imagine what he'd do in a street fight.

May 19, 2008  04:25 PM ET

Steveo have you seen Kimbo fight? Also BJ Penn is a jiujitsu guy his strength is on the ground although he can knock guys out. He toyed with Jens Pulver in the last fight and really controlled him on the ground. Are you sure you understand MMA?

May 19, 2008  04:26 PM ET

Kimbo Slice vs Mike Tyson. Talk about a freak fight, lol.

Same of the rumored Kimbo vs Butterbean. Hey, even Kimbo vs James Thompson is going to be, well, "strange"

May 19, 2008  04:26 PM ET

Also I got to say dropping weight is a good thing for Kimbo and probably helps his cardio. I wonder if steveo actually understands anything about being an athlete period.
