The Detroit Pistons will win the East.

The Celtics are a highly flawed basketball team in more ways then I can state in 1200 words.

The guys that they depend on do not have any clue how to win a conference championship, the guys the Pistons depend on are CHAMPIONS.

I will get into this more.... but the Pistons faced 2 teams that were much better in the regular season than the Hawks( 76ers) and the LeBrons
(Magic). They also handled their business like a true champion.

The Celtics can NOT win on the road, which I know they don't have to. But think about this, they just finished their second very tough 7 game series and tommorow start another one. The Pistons are a veteran team, they know they only need one in Beantown. They will strike while the iron is hot (Celts are tired). Look for the Pistons to come out and take one of these 2 games while the Celtics are mentally and physically just not ready to play at their highest level.

Then the pressure is on a team that does not know how to win on the road or in the conference finals.

Detroit will go to the Finals, against everyone wishes.

Alright...well the other choice would be the Boston Celtics, and that is who I'm going with. The Boston Celtics will win the East.

The Celtics may have flaws, but so do the Pistons.

Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen do. They have playoff experience with the Timberwolves and Bucks, respectively. The Pistons might have champions, but the Celtics' team flows better.

The Celtics are 2-1 against the Pistons this season, and the Celtics are 3-1 vs Philly and are 1-2 against the Magic. Anyway, the Celtics have handled the Pistons fine this season, and it shouldn't be any different in the playoffs.

The Celtics have endurance, they can play two-three 7 game series, back-to-back. The Celtics are going to take this 7-game series fine, and they are going to win it too (at the most 7, but could be less). The Celtics are 8-0 at home, and that is going to be a big thing for the Celtics. They can keep momentum at home, and they can take this series.

The Celtics are going to be ready mentally and physically because they are going to have the attitude of, this trade worked out good, and the trade wasn't a bust.

The Celtics will be fine, and will win the Eastern Conference.

Well, when your right, your right. Ray, KG and Paul have experience. All 3 of them have lost in the conference finals, so they do know how to lose. How do the Celtics flow better, please tell me?

Sheed, Prince, Rip and Billups have been together for 4 and a half seasons and flow as well together as any team in the league. McDyess has been their 4 years. Stuckey has looked impressive in the postseason and Maxiell is one of the best bench players in the league.

They did lose 2 of 3 but I remember the year the Mavs lost the Finals, we spanked the Heat in the regular season twice, how did that turn out for my little Mavs. You can throw those records out the window.

Look the Celtics have been great at home, but this is a Piston team that will see a chance to get a quick one in Boston. Their is no way you can honestly tell me that 2 very tough 7 game series have not taken their toll.

The Pistons are rolling right along, the Magic were a good team with a big time player in Howard. The Magic won 52 games and handled Toronto with ease. Then they rolled into Detroit and went home in real quick fashion.

The Pistons will be back in the Finals.

Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce have been playing very well together this year, and Kevin Garnett is helping the team chemistry and is being a good role model for the team, and the entire team is now playing defense and is connecting.

So the Pistons have some players who have been their for about the same time period, and that doesn't really make a difference for the outcome of this series. The Celtics have played better, and have beaten the Pistons in 2 games, and lost only 1 game to them in the regular season. They won't have a problem in the playoffs.

The Mavs might have had that happen to them, but it won't happen to the Celtics. The Celtics don't have that coming in their future, and they have experience from playing in two straight 7-game series.

The Celtics are 8-0 at home so far in the playoffs, and it is going to be hard for the Pistons to beat the Celtics at home. The Cetlics can't really win on the road in the playoffs so far, but they will turn that around against the Pistons.

The Magic were a good team, but they aren't as good as the Pistons, or the Celtics. The Pistons are going to have a lot of trouble with the Celtics.

Dyhard, you have giving me nothing but opinions, other than the Celtics are 8 and 0 at home in the playoffs. They played 2 teams thay clearly should have beat and had trouble doing it.

You said the Celtics flow better, then say the Pistons chemistry wont matter in this series. You wanna know why the Spurs won that Game 7 on the road, because they have done it before and played like it. No one of significance on the Celtics has been this far, as for the Pistons, well this is only their 6th straight conference Finals.

The regular season does NOT matter, the postseason is a whole different beast. If it did your statement "The Magic were a good team, but they aren't as good as the Celtics" is totally contradicted as the Magic beat them 2 to 1 in the regular season.

The Pistons road was much tougher than it looked, Philly closed out the year 22 and 12 and were playing great as a team, I already stated Orlando's case. Yet the Pistons needed less games to dispose of their competition. They are a veteran team and mark my words will take advantage in areas the lesser teams couldn't.

They will take 1 of these first two and Boston will be Struggggggling after that.

The Celtics are very good at home, and they just can't get beat at home in the playoffs. They will win on the road eventually, and it will be this series. They are going to win the series because they will win the games at home, and one or two on the road.

They have a lot of good players, and if you look at the duel between Paul Pierce and LeBron James, Pierce knows how to play in the playoffs. Pierce had 41 points and LeBron had 45 points one game. The Big Three will lead this Celtics team to the NBA Finals.

It might be 6 straight, but just because you make it to the conference Finals several years in a row, doesn't mean that you will win everytime, and like last year, they didn't. Look for the same in this series.

Philly was not better than the Cavs or the Hawks. Just because they got hot at the end of the season doesn't mean that they will win in the playoffs. The Celtics know how to play game 7's, as they just had 2 back-to-back 3 game series.

The Celtics have endurance now, and are able to play three game series, and are fine in them.

The Celtics will take both of these first two, and the Pistons will be STUGGLING after there 0-2 start in the series.

Good Luck dyhard

Have fun celtic nation.

"Have fun celtic nation."

Oh, we will.

One thing though, I actually think that in a playoff series I'd much rather play the Magic than Detroit. I would call the Cavs the much tougher team to beat (I think even Detroit can attest to that), but there's no question about it, the Pistons have looked more impressive this postseason.

I will wait for arguments, but the Pistons have their fair share of flaws.

Good luck nickb23.

"I don't see how 2 very tough game 7's wont take their toll"

Are you kidding me? The first game 7 was a blowout, they only had 1 very hard game 7, and Allen sat out for a lot of it, so he is rested. PJ Brown played for the first time in a long time, so he is still fresh, and the Celtics are fresh, outside of KG and Pierce, and KG is in great shape, and is used to playing more minutes that he did this season (average around 39 minutes per game in Minny for a few years).

Good luck, again, nickb23.

I didn't say two tough game 7's, why don't you learn to read? I said 2 tough 7 game series. Don't even try to tell me that those weren't tough series' for the Celtics.

May 20, 2008  09:36 PM ET

nick, I never saw anyone say, "I don't see how..." I was wondering where he got that from.

May 20, 2008  09:47 PM ET

"Their is no way you can honestly tell me that 2 very tough 7 game series have not taken their toll."

He took that sentence and then put how he interpreted it and said that is what i was saying.

May 20, 2008  10:04 PM ET

He changed the sentence to how he wanted it to be.

Good TD.

May 20, 2008  10:08 PM ET

Same to you.

May 21, 2008  07:45 AM ET

Nice job guys. This is very close- I personally (have to) believe that the Cs will pull it off, but Nick gives a little more evidence in the arguments. Anyway, good TD.

I really believe that the Pistons are the team to beat, after watching the Celtics struggle in the previous two series on the road, I just don't think that they can take down the Pistons. Good Job by both though.
