The Heat will make the playoffs next season, they are in an extremly weak conference, and once D-Wade and Shawn Marion get used to each other, they will be a playoffs team without a doubt.

Are you crazy? The heat are a terrible team with no real big man to control the post, D-wade hasn't been quite the same player ever since his shoulder injury and will probably never be the player he was in his first 3 years, and Pat Riley is a washed up coach who should of called it quit a few years ago when the heat won the NBA championship.

the heat had a 17.3 winning % and have made no major additions to there roster since seasons end and your gonna go out and say they've improved enough to be a playoff caliber team, there are college teams that could of beat them this year.

the Heat will not make the playoffs this year, or for years to come

If the heat resign Shawn Marion they will be gettig back a guy who led there team in rebounding, and is also a great scorer, combine this with D-Wade, and maybe even get Michael Beasly in the draft (who is a very good big man) and your looking at a team that could easily chalenge and win a playoff spot.

Also you saying Pat Riley is washed up coach just because of the fact that he had one bad season, but you ignore the fact that he took the heat to the eastern confrence finals 2 years in a row and won the southwest division 3 years in a row with a old heat team.

Last season was just a rebuilding year, this year they will enter the season younger, faster, stronger, and most importantly healthy.

"If the heat resign Shawn Marion"
That's a big IF

also why are you throwing getting Michael Beasly out there, if theres one thing I've learned over the years that the NBA has had the lottery it's that the lottery is noy kind to teams that seem to need talent the most .

Also the heat arn't gonna be that much youger, keep in mind that they are still stuck with Zo and the only real player that they have leave is Shaq, so yuour basicly seeing the same team next year as far as we know and they'll just be that much older than last season.

Ok, you don't have to argue I am used to talking to myself. The heat were the worst teamin the NBA this year and if they don't get the first pick in the draft next year they will be then as well. enough said.

"will probably never be the player he was in his first 3 years"

Are you willing to bet your life savings on this?

That Guy, if you put up a half-decent argument against him, you have a shot.

well last time i checked two players dont win games. even if you get a top rookie, no playoff. oh and in the east next year you will have to be .500 to make the playoffs... thats not weak

May 20, 2008  03:43 PM ET

I'm pretty sure Marion will be a free agent this season.

May 20, 2008  03:45 PM ET

jkz...true, however they do have Haslem, who is greatly underrated...and lets not forget...Beasley/ Rose depending on how the ball rolls tonight. Thats a good enough core when talking about the East.

i said next year. i believe there will be improvements in all the teams and even though the west will have more better teams. the east will be better and .500 will be needed to make the playoffs next year

May 20, 2008  04:13 PM ET

I doubt the Heat will try to make a playoff spot. If they get anything worse than a top 10 draft pick, Minnesota acquires it. Why compete when you can have another year of rebuilding.

Based on argument

------------------------------------------------------>

But they could go 41-41 next year and get the 8th seed especially if they end up with BEASTLEY

After all it is the East

May 20, 2008  05:07 PM ET

Riley isn't the Heat coach any more? Did you guys both miss that?

May 20, 2008  07:21 PM ET

I like the heat

May 20, 2008  07:31 PM ET

They probably will. But, based on the quality of arguments, vote to the right.

alonzo could be more serviceable when he returns than people think.

he led the lead in blocks per 48 minutes and still played better than average defense when he got injured.
