1. No stocking your team. That means no Hanley, Pujols, Howard, Santana, Braun, et al on the same team. KEEP IT UNDER 30 MIL. FOR CAP ROOM.

2. Make it reasonable. Don't have Hanley Ramirez starting and Jose Reyes on the bench. I'm confident that Jose wouldn't like it on the bench.

3. Salaries from ESPN.com

C- Joe Mauer, 6.25 mil
1B- Kevin Youkilis, 3 mil
2B- Dustin Pedroia, 457,000

RF- Josh Hamilton,
SP- Justin Verlander, 1.13 mil
SP- James Shields, 1 mil.

SP- Dustin McGowan, 404,100
SP- Felix Hernandez, 540,000
RP- Matt Lowe, 390,000

BN- Dioneer Navarro, 412,500
BN- Jason Bartlett, 416,600

BN- David Murphy, 393,000

Total: $26,177,800

C- Russell Martin 500,000
1B- Adrian Gonzalez 875,000 (one of the most underrated players in the game)
2B-Dan Uggla 417,000
SS- Hanley Ramirez- 439,000
3B- David Wright 5,250,000
LF- Ryan Braun- 455,000
CF- Michael Bourn- 396,000- I need a good leadoff hitter. Great young hitter who will be great with time. Already MLB leader in steals.
RF-Nate McLouth 425,000- capable of being a 20 20 player year in and out. .300 hitter too.

hitters total 8,757,000
SP-Cole Hamels 500,000
SP-Jake Peavy 6,500,000
SP- Brandon Webb 5,500,000
SP- Tim Lincecum 405,000

RP-Tony Pena 405,500 (needed a long reliever)
CP-Takashi Saito 2,000,000
bullpen salary- 4,101,000

BN/DH if we have one- Prince Fielder (670,000)
BN- Geovany Soto 401,000 ( I would plan on a complete split of Martin and Soto. C is the hardest position and you would love to have 2 greats)
BN-Chris Young 406,000 - POTENTIAL
BN-Jay Bruce
BN-Ryan Theriot 428,000 (utility)
total- $28,060,500

(Who knew that the NL was such a small payroll league? /: )

Mauer and Martin are widely considered the two best catchers in the majors, however, I will say that Soto is better than Navarro. Your call. <-->

1st: Youk and Gonzalez is close. I don't know how you have him over Prince, and I doubt Prince would like the bench. However, I'll give you it. -->

2nd: Pedroia can do a lot of things well, such as hit, hit for power, field, run, throw, etc. Uggla isn't fast, he won't hit over .280 for a FULL season, and his fielding is abyssmal. <-->

3rd: Wright tops Gordon, but for how much longer? Gordon could be the next David Wright.. -->

SS: No contest. -->

LF: Braun and Young is an interesting debate. Young could be the next young Griffey or even better, but as of now, Braun is better. <-->

CF: Upton over Bourn. Upton has become a top-tier OF, and he can play innumerous positions. <-->

RF: Hamilton over McLouth. Don't get me wrong, McLouth is having a good year. But Hamilton has more power, a good arm as well, and could get Gold Gloves in the future. <-->

(Pitchers next, so far: Me: 3, You: 3, Tie: 2)

I have Gonzalez in because the Prince is the worst fielding first baseman in the MLB. I can't have him at first, but he would be my primary DH or PH.

Catcher is a push, I agree.

I think with first base combined I take that.

Peds is a good player, don't get me wrong, but the point of the game is to score runs. Uggla produces MUCH more runs than D-Peds a year. he can drive in runners and is capable of 30 homers. pedroia can definatley get on base, but I don't see the point of high average low RBIs and homeruns. Mabey thats just me.

Delmon is a good hitter and I truly appreciate how he goes to work every day, but Braun is the next big thing.

I'll give you Upton, but I NEEDED speed.

Hamilton over McClouth too.

sorry man, but i gotcha at pitcher lol.

Webb demolishes Verlander

Peavy crushes Shields

Hamels destroys felix

lincecum no competition over Greinke

Volquez and McGowan is close, but cmon, look at the rest of the rotation.

Bullpen is pretty close, I think we both have top tier bullpens and it really isn't worth going into too much detail.

Yeah I was suprised the NL payroll too haha.

I guess I can't really say much else.

Within the next 3 years, though, your entire team would want major contracts. Unless your owners are the Steinbrenners, you might not be able to keep the entire club.

It'd also be hard keeping your bench players content with playing time. Prince, Soto, Young, and Bruce are all guys who deserve everyday time, and Theriot is close to that calliber.

Good team, I'll give that to you. I think this matchup would be very interesting in a World Series format.

Yeah, you had a great team too. The only problem is I have the Marlins in my league and you had the Yanks. Good TD though.

Prince wouldn't be getting too much time and I'm sure he'd leave, but any time we had a DH hes in. Soto and Martin would basically split 81 games even. I'm sure they would appreciate the time off and if not, one would leave.

my pitching is really the thing that sets our teams apart. I mean don't get me wrong you have good pitching but my pitchers is basically the all-star team.

I forgot to mention that Bruce would probably take McClouth's place when he started to slump and he would be the future of my team. Same goes with Young and Bourn.

Theriot is my utlilty man. ANYONE needs a day off, theres Theriot. I think it would be a safe bet he would have over half of the games started.

WOAH! Mauer for 6 mill?

May 25, 2008  11:34 PM ET

I know. I couldn't find a cheap, high quality AL Catcher.

May 25, 2008  11:37 PM ET

Well its a good thing I have NL haha. Hold on, let me see what I can do.

May 25, 2008  11:42 PM ET

Take your time. I'll probably do this tomorrow.

Who knew Mike Sweeney is actually doing something this year?

May 26, 2008  01:28 AM ET

The first time I went through I had Zimmerman at third then when I finished I had 8 mil left so I switched to Wright.

May 26, 2008  09:47 AM ET

Rights team is much better, I'll change my vote if it is necessary.

May 26, 2008  02:33 PM ET

Would you like to TD about this in NFL/NBA?

May 26, 2008  02:57 PM ET

Sure man, but not today. I have to go to a party. Fanmail me

May 26, 2008  08:35 PM ET

much better team ---->

May 26, 2008  09:00 PM ET

Martinez?

Well most of the player's on J's team are in their original contracts so they will be paid less.

May 26, 2008  09:30 PM ET

Cool Td but I gotta go NL. It has a many more low paid stars, so J got to load up on pitching.
