Who the hell goes to the ball park to eat chain food??
But, if you MUST, Connies Pizza at U.S. Cellular (I assume they still sell it there). Connies wins the best Pizza in Chicago award virtually every year and has for as long as I can remember. Of course, Chicago is the Pizza capital of the world so that's saying something. Pizza also goes great with a ball game. Grab a slice and eat it with your hands while watching the game. It's almost the perfect food for a sporting event.
Outback Steakhouse? You kidding me? Unless you're sitting in a suite, this is a HORRIBLE choice for stadium food. Don't get me wrong, I like Outback. Eat there a couple times a month. But in a stadium? Uh, no. Who the heck wants to deal with a steak and baked potato while watching a game? A "bloomin' onion" -might- be o.k. but nothing on their menu of entree's would work well in a stadium seat. You want steak at the ball park or stadium? Grab a shish-kabob.
Personally, I don't want anything to do with chain food when I'm at a game. That's part of the experience of going...get food you don't find anywhere else except maybe the county fair. But if you must, Connies Pizza is the way to go.

Outback and a blooming onion at the game!..?
I don't know about Connie's but it sounds good.
Outback is one of the most recognizable steakhouses in the land.
Outback at the Alltell Staduim works wonders.
Cowboys-Celtics-Chisox said 05/26, 08:36 PM
Even a bloomin' onion would be a tough handle at a ball game. Those things are so big you pretty much need both hands to pull it apart, then you have the problem of where to set it in the mean time, all while cramped shoulder to shoulder in stadium seating. But, Outback isn't just about onions, that's just an appetizer item. Again, their entree's simply wouldn't work well in a stadium seat. Besides, If I want Outback, I'll go before or after the game where it costs 1/3rd the price and I can sit down and enjoy my meal. Now, if I'm in a suite it's a different story, but how many people have ever even sat in a suite, let alone do so regularly?
For easy to eat sustenance in any location, pizza is the near perfect food. That's why virtually every stadium and ball park in the country feature it as a menu item. Combine that with the best chain pizza restaurant in the highest rated pizza city in the U.S. and now you're talking stadium food.
When I think Outback, I think Filet Mignon, or lobster, or pasta with a baked potato, salad, and their fresh rye bread with a glass of wine. Definitely not stadium friendly foods where you want something easy to handle and a cold beer to wash it down.

Are you kidding? You wouldn't eat outback drunk? We all know we'd rather sit down and eat there but come on. Cowboy celitc and david nc talk too much for a simple argument. Give me a blooming onion anywhere and I'll eat it. They are pretty damn good. Your digesting it like a female.

"Are you kidding? You wouldn't eat outback drunk?"
Uh, no. I wouldn't waste my money in that manner. If I'm drunk and hungry I'll eat White Castle and spend 4 bucks, not Outback for 40. Besides, if you are DRUNK you won't appreciate Outback.
But I thought this was about Stadium food, not where to eat when you are drunk?
Fact is, Outback Steakhouse's menu simply doesn't play well to that forum.
That's not to take anything away from their food at all. I LIKE their food.
But...just as you don't order pizza for a Wedding reception, you also don't put Outback Steakhouse in a stadium and expect good results.
You are hanging your entire argument on a "bloomin' onion". Deep fried onions are everywhere... Outback most certainly doesn't hold a monopoly on them. And if that's what you wanted to say, this TD would be more appropriately named "best food ITEM from a chain restaurant served at a ball park".
Unfortunately for you, that's not the tact you took.
Anyhow. There is no better food for a ballgame, walk in the park, trip to the zoo, sitting in a ski lift, or watching it all on TV than PIZZA. It's an easy, mindless food you can eat anywhere at any time. And Connies is #1.

Chicaga is the pizza capital of the world? Has Italy given up the title officialy?

Report Offensive CommentLittle Caesars Pizza at the Joe in Detroit for obvious reasons. You won't find better Little Caesars anywhere with the Owner of it and the Red Wings in the same building. Mike Ilitch.
Which should make the "Za" in Tiger stadium pretty good too.

Report Offensive CommentAs impressive as that "Bloomin Onion"is, not sure about it a a sporting event though, I'm not sure Peachtree is selecting the Outback. Just looks like an example not a selection to me. So what is Peachtree's clear pick?

That's exactly right. Not to mention Pizza wasn't invented in Italy, it simply became popular there as a cheap food for the peasants. Pizza has been around in various forms since the 6th century B.C. and most likely originated with the Persian Empire.
"And the pizza capital is NEW YORK - the first pizzeria was opened there in the early 1900s"
You are correct that the first stand alone pizzeria was indeed opened in NY, however, pizza was served in taverns and bars in Chicago well before that. They weren't popular on a mass scale in the U.S. until the mid-40's.
