Following up the throdown for best OF so far.
The best infield so far belongs to the Chicago Cubs.
***THIS DOES INCLUDE CATCHER****
C- Geovany Soto. He is currently tied for all C in rbi's with 36. He's tied for 2nd in HR's with 9.
He's 2nd in 2B.
He's 3rd in OBP, 2nd in SLG, and 1st in OPS.
He's been one of the most fielding catchers in the league.
He has been a top 3 catcher all year long.
1B- Derek Lee
294 AVG, 12 HR, 36 RBI, 41 R.
He's been solid across the board. He's tied for 2nd in 2B with 16 of all 1B.
Lee is 3rd for 1B in hits with 65.
2B- Mark DeRosa
308 AVG, 4 HR, 26 RBI, 32 R.
Again, solid numbers. He's boasted nice numbers especially in runs and RBI's despite not getting full playing time. His 308 AVG is 2nd for all 2B and he is 5th in runs. He has been quietly productive.
SS- Ryan Theriot
311 AVG, 9 SB, 34 R, While he doesn't have great power numbers, he makes up for it with avg and speed. He's 2nd for SS in AVG, 5th in R, and 3rd in SB.
3B- Aramis Ramirez
302 AVG, 9 HR, 37 RBI, 37 R.
2nd out of 3B in OBP, 3rd in SLG, 2nd in OPS.
1st out of 3B in RBI-not counting braun. Tied for 3rd in HR. 2nd in R. One of the top 3B in the league.

I'll take the Braves
C-Brian McCann
.320 BA, .383 OBP, .670 SLG, 9 HRs, 18 2B, 32 RBIs, 0 SB
3rd best BA for catcher who's played over 40 games
3rd most RBI for a catcher
2nd most HR for catcher
Most 2B for a catcher
1B-Mark Teixiera
.268 BA, .302 OBP, .409 SLG, 5 HR, 14 2B, 31 RBI, 0 SB
18th in BA for 1B
6th in RBI for 1B
20th in HR for 1B
2B-Kelly Johnson
.294 BA, .353 OBP, .580 SLG, 6 HR, 25 RBI, 11 2B, 5 SB
15th in BA for 2B
8th in RBI for 2B
6th in HR for 2B
3B-Chipper Jones
.418 BA, ,500 OBP, .670 SLG, 12 HRs, 35 RBI, 39 R
Leads league in BA, H, and OBP
Leads 3B in BA, H, R, OBP, and SLG
SS-Yunel Escobar
.308 BA, .373 OBP, .409 SLG, 4 HRs, 22 RBI, 31 R
11th in BA for SS
8th in RBI for SS
8th in R for SS
I have the advantage at C, 3B, and SS.
Right now, Chipper Jones is the only player batting over .400 and is leading the NL MVP race.
Brian McCann and Soto are almost as equal as you can get, but I give the edge to McCann.
More to come in the next argument.

I think Soto has the advantage. He beats McCann in HR, OBP, OPS. McCann does win in R, AVG, 2B (by one) and SLG. But he also has more AB's than Soto. Defensively, Soto has been much better. He has a better ratio than McCann throwing out runners. While their stats are almost identical, Soto has a slight advantage because of his better catching abilities than McCann.
1B- I think i win there at the moment.
3B- I'll give you the advantage but Ramirez may be the 2nd best 3B so far.
2B
DeRosa beats Johnson in AVG, OBP, OPS, RBI, R, H, 2B, and SB %. 3/3.
Johnson wins HR and SLG. I think it's clear that DeRosa has an advantage here.
SS- I'll give you the advantage although once again its pretty close. Theriot wins SB, AVG, and H, But his lack of power numbers bring him down.
Let's go to the bench!
Ronny Cedeno- 321 AVG, 1 HR, 19 RBI, 17 R.
Mark Fontenot- 250 AVG, 2 HR, 12 RBI, 12 R.
Atlanta's bench
Omar Infante- 261, 0 HR, 4 R, 4 RBI
Ruben Gotay- 258, 0 HR, 1 RBI, 3 R
I have the clear advantage for the bench.
I have the advantage in 1B and 2B.
You have the advantage in SS and 3B.
Will argue more on the two catchers..

McCann is definitely the better catcher out of the two. Soto has struck out 47 times, and McCann has only struck out 21 times. McCann leads Soto in total bases as well. I don't see where you get Soto is a better catcher than McCann. McCann hasn't had an error or a passed ball this year. Soto has had an error and 3 passed balls. His range factor (assists+putouts per game) is also better. McCann is the better fielder although Soto's arm is slightly better. Overall, McCann is the better catcher.
You definitely have 2B and 1B, and I for sure have SS, C, and 3B.
The bench is interesting has well.
You can't compare stats between Infante and Cedeno. Cedeno has played 21 more games than him. I hope Cedeno would have better stats than someone who has played 15 games this season.
Between Gotay and Fontenot, Fontenot has 37 more at bats than him. You can't compare stats like RBI when one player has had twice as many ABs. Fontenot has a better BA and OBP, the major average stats for a batter.
The benches can't be compared. Chicago uses their bench more often than the Braves, so you can't compare stats there.
