Alex is good, Crosby is better
2006-07
82 games 46 goals 46 assists 92points
2007-08
82 games 65 goals 47 assists 112points
Crosby
2006-07
79 games 36 goals 84 assists 120points
2007-08
53 games 24 goals 48 assists 72points
As you can tell by the stats, Ovechkin hasn't missed a game in his career, and crosby still dominated alex his rookie year. I don't count this season because Crosby missed 29 games, he only needed 30 points, too, so basically a point a game, and could have tied with alex.
Also, Crosby just lead his team to the finals, scored 2 goals as well. Crosby is team player, assists, Ovechkin just scores. I think Crosby is a better captain that ovechkin. I really though Fedorov should have been captain.
I'll say more on my next arguement
Good Luck!!

Alex won the rookie of the year in 05-06 and had a better year. Sid Has a stacked team around him with hossa, ganchar, malkin and sykora. OV has to create for himself and go off of his decent teamates. He brought a last place team to the playoffs. When he was double covered in the playoffs he got other people to score like Semin.
Without sid the penguins held there own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was out like 30 games right?
IF OV didn't play 30 games the caps would be in the dumps.
OV dosen't just score he had over 45 assists
Without OV caps would still be in last place... Where would the penguins be?
So OV is more valuable to his team...

Good arguement, but Sid may be the closest thing we ever see in comparison to The Great One

Report Offensive Commentthis is not even questionable. it says VALUABLE. when crosby was out, Malkin stepped up and the Pens did even better than they do with crosby. could you imagine and Ovechkin-less capitals. he is better too, but that's a different story

Report Offensive CommentJust something to think about, Jordan didn't win his first ring until he was 28. Now, my point isn't that Kobe's won 3 already so he's ahead of Jordan, rather, most of MJ's success came starting about the same age that Kobe is at the present. Kobe's already accomplished allot, and barring injury, could accomplish allot more now that the Lakers have put some talent around him.
