The Philadelphia Eagles will win their division!

OK look at our defense with new corner Asante Samuel and will Lito Sheppard most likely getting traded for new talent at the recieveing core you cannot count the Eagles down this year with Westbrook in his prime and Dawkins wanting a championship. Dont count us out.

Okay, let's list 3 teams that will beat the Eagles in the East this year:

1. Dallas Cowboys-They have an All-Pro QB in Tony Romo, two great RBs in Marion Barber and the rookie Felix Jones, TO as their star receiver, and a very good defense. They went 13-3 last year, and won the division, and have only improved from last season. They'll beat the Eagles.

2. New York Giants-Um, Super Bowl Champions anyone? They have a rising star QB in Eli Manning, some great running with Brandon Jacobs, a bunch of great receivers, and a great defense. And oh yeah, they won the Super Bowl last year too. They'll beat out the Eagles.

3. Washington Redskins-They have a good young QB in Jason Campbell, a star RB in Clinton Portis, they drafted 2 receivers, and they have a good defense. They also have a new coach to shake things up, and looked very good at times last season. They'll beat out the Eagles this year.

Any questions?

1.Well for the Redskins Clinton Portis is becoming an injury prone back that wont last the whole season.

2.And for the Giants they dont know if their defensive leader Michael Strahan is coming back and with Shockey getting injured he will be slow all season and not put up the numbers he normally would.

3. Dallas Cowboys well all i have to say is Jessica Simpson and jailbirds in Pacman Jones and Tank Johnson causing off-field issues distracting their team.

Reasons the Eagles won't be good enough to win the division:

1. Donovan McNabb is really injury prone. He hasn't had a good season in quite a while and he doesn't have many good receivers to throw too.

2. Their defense isn't that good.

3. They didn't make any significant improvements this off-season.

And arguing against your thoughts on the other teams in the division.

1. Washington Redskins-Um, about Clinton Portis being injury prone, he didn't miss a single game last season, and finished with some very good numbers. They also have another good RB in Laddell Betts.

2. New York Giants-Michael Strahan hasn't made any announcements about retiring. Let's not jump the gun here. They also won a Super Bowl last year without any help from M.I.A. Jeremy Shockey.

3. Dallas Cowboys-Ya, Jessica Simpson will just make Tony Romo suck. They were in a relationship all of last season, and he still made the Pro-Bowl. Pacman Jones probably won't even play, and Tank Johnson was a model citizen last year. And they are still a stacked team.

Face it, the Eagles won't win the division this year.

1. Donovan Mcnabb is most likely gonna get help if and when Lito Sheppard gets traded. And if he has more help than Westbrook he wont have to try to make every play happen.

2. Portis didnt put up his usual numbers he fell short and i do see your point in Laddell Betts he is a pretty good player. I just dont see Jason Campbell puting anything on the scoreboard even with the talented recieveing core.

3. Strahan may not retire but i think Manning will get cocky because he won the big game faster than his brother and he'll be rushing passes making bad decisions and well choking like Mannings always do.

4. Tank still will have offseason issues he was acting good to get a job and while Pacman Jones is trying to play wideout that wont work having 2 cocky recievers on the same team. T.O. will cry about not getting the ball enough and it will throw Romo off even more than Jessica Simpson.

5 Last thing they signed one of the best cornerbacks in the game no offseason improvements thats funny.

I still think the Eagles will not win the NFC East this year. They struggled last year, finishing last in this very tough division. There are 3 other very good teams in their division.

First off, I don't trust that Philly will be able to make any big move to acquire a star receiver between now and the trade deadline. And even if Westbrook has a good season, you can't win without a good passing game.

Secondly, on the Redskins, Clinton Portis' numbers only fell because he was sharing time with another great back, Betts. He still average nearly 4 yards per carry. And Ladell Betts, he rushed for about 400 yards on 100 carries, great numbers for a second back. And why are you hating on Campbell? He threw for 2700 yards on a 70% completion percentage, and more TDs than INTs. He is a good young QB.

On the Giants, your comment just doesn't make sense. Choking Mannings? They have been the last 2 Super Bowl MVPs. And Peyton Manning was a Pro Bowler after he won his Super Bowl. That argument doesn't make sense.

About the Cowboys, they had all of these "distractions" last year, and they finished 13-3 and won this division. And they are getting hungry and are bound for a good season.

"a star RB in Clinton Portis"

Who was 2nd in the league last year for fumbles...

Hahahaha dream on.
Romo and Jessica broke up. Tank Johnson, if you haven't heard, has reformed himself. Even though his crimes were never huge, he's become a model citizen. In fact, the coaches and other players have said they are totally surprised at Tank. He has become a locker room leader and is one of the biggest mentors and role models for the younger guys on the team.
As for Pacman, apparently the few guys who have met him already have liked him. If he does anything, though, he is immediately gone, so no problem there.

Cowboys will win the division easily.

Oh yeah, and Giants will come in second, and the Iggles in 3rd.

O i guess EagleH8r didnt see them together at the wedding yes ROMO AND SIMPSON R STILL TOGETHER

OK... they are still together...

WHO FACKING CARES??? Romo has been dating celebrities the whole last season and a half, and he still managed to post the 9th most passing TDs in a season OF ALL-TIME in his FIRST SEASON STARTING!

Imagine a guy name Eagle Hater saying the Cowboys will win! I'm shocked!

I'm not voting for either side because both arguments blow like a hurricane.

"2. Their defense isn't that good."

Actually the defense was the one thing that kept them at 8 wins. The front 7 is getting younger and better by the year. The secondary will be considerably better with 3 starting DB's rotating.

3. "They didn't make any significant improvements this off-season."

Actually there were plenty of improvements and not all of them were named Samuel. Chris Clemons is a pass rushing threat acquired from the Raiders where he got 8 sacks. Lorenzo Booker is another threat for the offense, as a receiving RB just like Westbrook.

The NFC East is still anyone's game.

Anyone who honestly thinks that player's girlfriends affect their play, especially in this instance, is labeling themself as a true idiot who doesn't understand sports.

Why would Romo care when a defensive end is bearing down on him whether his girl is watching him at home or in the stands? Oh yeah, and she watched him destroy the Jets and Packers... and last year Carrie Underwood was there watching as he tossed 5 touchdowns in one game...

You people need to stop hiding behind lame excuses because your own team can't match up well enough

How do you like Terry Glenn's chances this year? Jerry's quibbling with him over an injury clause. But I bet he still does well this year. Just don't pass to Creighton.

I'll ignore the slight and point out that this was a very good post.

Oso... we went 13-3 and had tons of air power without Glenn last year, so I am not too worried.

Glenn would only be the third WR anyways. TO is the #1 receiver, Witten is the #2 guy, and Crayton and Glenn are the 3rd options at best. Glenn just provides some extra speed. Crayton may not be clutch, but 50 catches for 700 yards and 7 TDs are better than most team's 3rd receiving option

COWBOYS WILL FINISH #2 i think it will be a close race and Eagles will win by one or two games honestly the Cowboys are not bad they could do some good things this season

Report Offensive Comment

Cowboys are still pretty much the same team they were last year with a few changes. Romo has more experience and confidence.

The receivers are older, but shouldn't be a big deal unless Owens goes down for a few games.

Newman should be fine on his side. The only weak spot in the secondary is Williams really.

Spencer must be doing real well because Ellis is holding out because he's losing snaps.

Not a bad team at all. The only changes that might be telling are the coaching changes due to Sparano's defection and the coaches he took with him.

You're arguments are such jokes... Seriously. Yeah, Tank still is on basically his last strike in the NFL. Why would he be so good and then blow it?
Also, Pacman hasn't even been re-instated yet. The WR thing was a suggestion by Jerry to use Pacman as a gadget player. Are you seriously dumb enough to think that they would use an excellent CB as a 4th receiver only? The comment was an owner's fantasy for a few years down the line.

God... some people's stupidity borders on offensive.

Quite a bit hinges upon McNabb's health. But if he's back there, don't look for another 8-8 season. It will be a dogfight for the NFC title. Not just the east. Giants and Cowboys could do well too, though I don't trust the Giants to do it again. Redskins could be potent, but with a new coach running the show, I'm not too sure how they'll do this year.

But mark my words. If McNabb's healthy, the Eagles will raise eyebrows and make believers of everyone.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT WILL COME DOWN TO IF MCNABB CAN STAY HEALTHY THEY WILL GO FAR

I agree on the Giants. An average team with an extreme hos treak isn't overly impressive to me.
The Skins, I honestly believe, are going to be horrendous this year. Like, 3 or 4 win bad. That coaching staff is a mess when all the key areas needed stability. A bizarre draft didn't help (a backup tight end with the first pick? Extreme reaches for players who do not fit in against the competition the division is offering? huh?)

Also, I think the Eagles do have a strong shot to be very good this year, though for all different reasons than Eagles fans expect. I honestly don't think that secondary is gonna be all it is cracked up to be. Samuels is overrated, and if Lito goes down... plus, that is a really poor pair of safeties the Iggles field, assuming Dawkins continues his downward spiral. However, the pass rush could be great and the air game could be a surprise.

Big IF there on McNabb... he's been injured 4 straight seasons, and 5 of the last 6.
