So the rules don't fit in the topic so here they are...

Best team (meaning 5-8 players) to NEVER make the All-Star roster in the 80s vs the 90s vs the 00s (pick one decade and your opponent picks a decade- players have to have played 7 of 10 years in that decade to count)

I'm taking the 1990's

G: Rod Strickland
G: Derek Harper
F: Eddie Johnson
F: Sam Perkins
C:Rony Seikaly

Bench:
G: Byron Scott
G: Ron Harper
F: Chuck Person

Your up... good luck

My choice 00's.

G: Andre Miller
G: Jason Richardson
F: Lamar Odom
F: PJ Brown
C: Marcus Camby

Bench:
G: Jason Terry
F: Bruce Bowen
F: Richard Jefferson

Good Choices

Rod Strickland has to be one of the biggest snubs of all time, currently he is 7th all time in assists and is 1st amongst players to never make an all star game. He has 1616 career steals and 13733 points good for about 13/season.

Derek Harper had a very solid career, a great combo guard. He could score, 16000 points, pass, 6751 assists, and play D, 1958 steals all of these numbers are career numbers. He was a great guard who could do everything.

Eddie Johnson, this man could score with the best of them. 19202 career points speak for themselves. He has the most points scored of any player that has never played in an all star game. He averaged over 16ppg over 17 seasons.

Sam Perkins was a pretty solid overall player, he had 15324 career points and 7661 rebounds. He is third on the scoring list of players to never make an all star game. He could play everywhere on offense, down low or knock down the 3 ball.

Rony Seikaly never averaged less than double digits in scoring in his 11 seasons. He averaged 15 and 10 for his career. He is very consistent and suffered by playing with great centers (Ewing, Shaq, Robinson, Olajuwon, and Mutumbo).

More to come

Miller - Since '00, he has been in the top 10 in assist every year. Leading in the 01-02 season over guys like Stockton, Nash, Kidd, Davis, Payton & Strickland. In his 9 yr career so far, Miller has amassed 5486 assist. Strickland at this point in his career? 4969. Rods numbers may seem impressive, lets not forget he has played in the NBA for 17 years.

Rich - How is this guy not an All Star? So far in his 7 yr career, he has racked up nearly 10k in points & avgs almost 19 ppg. Jason is a flat out scorer who can rebound & dish the ball when needed. Harper is a good choice but, as you commented, he cannot do everything. Ever heard of rebounding?

Odom - One of the most underrated players today. For his career he averages 15+ ppg, 9 rpg & 4 apg. Whats more impressive is how he turns up his game during the playoffs, averaging a double-double. IMO, one of the most important pieces in the Lakers run this year.

Brown - Though his numbers arent staggering, PJ was placed on my team for his defense & rebounding expertise. He has always been one of the top offensive rebounders throughout his career.

I'll continue with Camby & the bench in 3rd argument. Not enough space.

Byron Scott could just score. He would be a great player off of the bench with help getting the ball in the basket. During his career he averaged 14ppg and 3apg, these are very good numbers considering he played with Magic, Worthy, and Kareem. During his career he scored 15097, good for 4th on the non all star scoring list.

Ron Harper is another player who could do everything. His career stats are averaged at 14ppg, 2spg, 4rpg, and 4apg. He will be known as a great compliment player, because of his roles on 5 NBA championship teams. This makes him perfect for my bench.

Chuck Person was a very good shooter he averaged 15ppg. His 5rpg and 3apg are pretty solid too. He would be another great role player off of my bench.

One thing that I see about your starting line up is that there isn't a ton of scoring, Camby and Brown are two post players that no one is scared of and you don't have any post scoring on your bench either. That would hurt your team.

I'm out of room your up. Good Luck

Camby - One of the premiere defenders in the game. All-D 1st & 2nd team for the past 4 years. Defensive POY in 07. He has averaged nearly 3 bpg in his career. He has also averaged a double-double in 5 of the 8 yrs in this decade.

Terry is one of the pure shooters in the game. He averages about 16 ppg & 5 apg. He has always hovered near the top of the league in 3pt % & free throw %.

Bowen is also one of the best defenders today. He has been on the All-D team for 8 consecutive yrs. Last 5 he was elected to the 1st team. A 3pt specialist who can defend any SG/SF.

Jefferson is also one of the most underrated players today. His size, strength & speed will dominate anyone you have come in to guard him. He averages 17 ppg, 5 rpg & 3 assist.

"One thing that I see about your starting line up is that there isnt a ton of scoring"

REALLY? So when you create a team, you ONLY pick scorers? My team has the full package. Facilitators, Rebounders, Scorers & (most importantly) DEFENDERS. You cant win without D, something your team LACKS.

Explain to me how your starting lineup is better
Yours: 68.3 ppg & 18.9 rpg
Mine: 67.8 ppg & 35.9 rpg

You cant score if you cant rebound!

I had seriously forgotten about Rony Seikaly. Holy crap. Talk about a blast from the past. Who's next, Rik Smits?

im glad to see this isnt getting any votes yet. Arguments should be one of the deciding factors. Was a bit nervous having put up a list first.

Philly, might have to post my 2nd argument tonight or tomorrow.
