1930s

The 1930s were a very chaotic decade, full of offensive firepower. The 1930s were most likely the most offensive-rich decade in all of baseball. There were players like Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, and Mel Ott.

In 1932, Babe Ruth played in his last World Series and was known for his "called shot" that World Series.

The first Negro League All-Star baseball game was played.

Princeton University and Columbia University played the first televised baseball game while the Cincinnati Reds and the Brooklyn Dodgers played the first televised Major League Baseball Game.

More to come.....

I will say the decade referred to as the "Golden Age of Baseball", the 1950s.

As many people know, the color barrier was broken in 47. But we all know that racism was still very present and at the end of the decade, only 3 teams had a player of color on their team. In the 50s, 13 out of 16 teams had a player of color on their team, and this was the decade that really integrated the game. Players of color from the 1950s include:

Willie Mays
Hank Aaron
Roberto Clemente
Frank Robinson
Ernie Banks
Orlando Cepeda

Those are just some of the guys who came into baseball in the 50s through de-segregation. The list of great players from that decade includes:

Mickey Mantle
Stan Musial
Duke Snyder
Warren Spahn
Whitey Ford
Early Wynn
Robin Roberts

It also had teams moving to the West coast. Whether good or bad, all moves had an implication. The moves caused MLB to be nationwide for the first time. Also, five new teams were added, and they became a huge part of baseball.

Lights debuted in the 1950s, forever changing how baseball was played. It led to night games on TV, which have had a tremendous impact on baseball over time.

Also, important info is that:

HR's went up 32%
K's went up 41%

1950s easily. Only decade in baseball that was after integration and before expansion. 1930's baseball was similar to the 90s. Mediocre pitching and juiced balls that contributed to the offense skyrocketing.
